The crew showed up on time every day, protected my floors and furniture, and paid close attention to all the little details like clean lines along the trim and perfectly smooth walls. I closed on my very first condo at the end of June and wanted to have the cabinets refinished before I moved in on July 20th. I reached out to a bunch of different people - Dave had one of the best prices I found and was the most flexible with scheduling. The kitchen was finished in three days (I was told it would be a 3-4 day project, so right on schedule) and the guys were fantastic. They arrived early, explained how they were going to do, worked within the constraints of my condo (they like to spray in a garage or outdoors, but since I had neither option, they tented meticulously in my living room and sprayed inside), and were even accommodating working around my movers on the last day of the project. I truly can't say enough good about the experience I had with Your Painters - I've already recommended them to friends and will definitely use them on any projects I have in the future! read more

I always hesitate to give companies bad reviews since it may impact their business, but this is the worst company I've ever dealt with and my fellow yelpers need to know the good and the bad. Having purchased painting services through a 3rd party (for half off), I tried (in vain) to schedule painting services. Five times I tried - that's right 5 times. Every time there was an excuse. The guy even said he had people in my area but couldn't find me - how unprofessional is that? Eventually I requested a refund but it is unfortunate that it never worked out and more unfortunate that I have to post a bad review since some people have had a good experience using them. Maybe in the future they will be more diligent and not so lackadaisical with their customers. read more

I scheduled to get a quote and the owner Dave, came out on a Monday. He was very personable to my face but completely blew me off after that. He said he would possibley get the quote emailed the next day. Well, I waited until Wednesday and called the company and gave receptionist my email and phone again. No response. I called the owner, Dave, and left a voice mail on his cell phone on Friday (also leaving my email again). No response. This company seeems hot and cold. Some reviews are good but like others, this company has scheduling problems and is not dependable. Too many otner competitors in the market to run your business like that. Dave, if you didn't want to do the job or couldn't fit it in, just communicate that to the customer. Blowing people off will not help you get rave reviews. PS I tried to give you zero stars but Yelp makes you give at least one. read more

My wife and I were looking for painting for our new home. It was covered in wallpaper so it looked like a daunting task. I contacted Dave the owner and he lives in Naperville and he was willing to drive to our house the same day in Skokie. First sign of a good guy. Second, Dave came out and we asked him about taking down wallpaper and what he would charge. He suggested that if we take down the paper he would charge us half the price. We took down paper ourselves and saved money. Dave constantly suggested ways we could save money. He sent TJ out to paint starting on a Saturday. TJ was prompt at 7:30-8 am everyday. He sanded, primed, fill in a ton of cracks and holes in our cement walls and then painted and finished all walls, trim and even painted and fixed one ceiling that had some water damage in less than a week. Both TJ and Dave always suggested by the minimal amount of paint to reduce our costs. Overall TJ did an excellent job. He even took down additional wallpaper that was left that I did not get to for no extra cost. These guys are the real deal and just down to earth people trying to make a living. Dave didn't even charge for the job until it was done and we were satisfied. Anyone who uses these guys wont be sorry. The quality work that we got for the price was outstanding. Hired Dave to paint 22 ft high walls in a living room, hallways we couldn't reach and the finished basement in the filthy house we are renting and cleaning up for our landlord (grrrr). Dave's quote was most reasonable of three and his crew turned up on time and did the job efficiently and without painter's tape (how do they do that...?). My sole, small grumble is that I asked them to cover furniture that was removed to another room with dust sheets, as we were pulling down dusty, disgusting window treatments that hadn't been cleaned for 15 years. They just moved the furniture and didn't cover it, so there was a film of dust, as I expected, over the couch which I am now vacuuming... Nice guys, good job, decent price. On time. read more

Hired Dave's company for painting the massively tall walls of our new home (we're talking 30 foot walls here, otherwise I would have done it myself). Hired Dave and his crew to stain the decks on the condo building where we live. There were 3 floors of decks and Dave's crew finished cleaning and staining in just under 2 days. They were very thorough and made sure that they didn't miss any spots. His pricing was very competitive and Dave even allowed us to make payments which was much appreciated. Dave came out to quote painting almost my whole townhouse and had a competitive rate with two other painters. I selected Your Painters because I felt most comfortable with him and his crew in my house-- there were 6 of them, they were done in two days, and did an outstanding job. Not only that, Sam from his crew came back out to do touch ups twice free of charge for things that weren't their fault (new siding caused drywall damage, and a couple of mishaps with moving furniture.) I searched for a painting company when we did a gut rehab on our home. From the beginning of the search Dave stood out. I always believe in companies that put themselves out there and take a risk to prove why I should choose him. The biggest thing that Dave did that caught my attention was the no down payment. Nothing was asked for in advance. He made it clear that everything will be painted to my satisfaction. He also said to wait till we move our family in and then he would send a touch up person to fix any dings or scratches that I put on the walls. The construction took an extra month and Dave finally sent me an invoice after he called to make sure my wife and I were happy with his service. We paid the invoice without hesitation. So he has his money. We already moved in. I bumped a couple of walls and my wife wouldn't trust me to touch up anything. I suck at painting. So I called him and he sent a guy out to handle the touch ups and paint the railing that wasn't yet installed when his crew was here. I am now reaching out to Dave to paint the exterior soffits and rails that were not done during construction because it was too cold. The business ethics of this man, and his company are fantastic. I get it that things go wrong. I don't judge people on mistakes, I judge them on how they handle mistakes. This guy handles them better than anybody else I ever met. I will be a unique reviewer for Dave because I could not have Dave's services for my house. I am buying a house with smoke smell and had asked Dave to provide estimation. Post evaluation Dave was upfront in stating that given the amount of work required, my time frames and his team's current workload, he will not be able to do my work. Very importantly he was upfront in his assessment and did save me lot of hassles if we would have found ourselves midway that the project is not working out the way we want. This speaks highly of Dave's professionalism in a world where everyone tries to fleece you if you are ignorant or are in bad situation. My hat's off to Dave and I am surely taking his services next when our expectations match:) PS: I am still trying to find a single painter in Naperville area who can claim to have restored a house with smoke/nicotine smell. We used Your Painters before and were very happy with their work. They have done interior and exterior painting and did an excellent job with both. When we had several rooms we were looking to have painted in the fall of 2020, we again callled Dave at Your Painters. Dave is always friendly, honest, and easy to deal with. No pressure from him...EVER. We told Dave what rooms we wanted to paint. Dave gave us a paint chart and later sent us an estimate for the work. We agreed on a start date and on that date four men arrived to do the work. All the workers were friendly, considerate and clean, making sure unpainted areas were covered. The job was done in a day to our total satisfaction. We wil call Your Painters again because we know their price will be fair and the work will be done timely and with excellent results. I would highly recommend Your Painters! After getting two other quotes for painting (that seemed really high), I asked for a quote from Dave. I initially talked to him on the phone, and then communicated with him over email by sending dimensions and pictures of the rooms we needed to get painted. I thought this would be easier and didn't want to waste his time in case his quote was higher than the other ones I'd received. I didn't have any issues with lack of communication as someone else mentioned here. Dave was always prompt with his responses, which I appreciated. After providing all the details of our job, Dave gave us a quote. Turns out that his quote was the lowest, which was great! I knew they did good work because I had seen one of their completed jobs at my cousin's new home. We picked out our paint and they were able to get out and do the job the next day. Andy, Harry, and another fellow came out. They were extremely professional, clean, and efficient. And best of all, they did a great job with the painting! All the lines were perfectly straight and the walls looked flawless. I will be using Your Painters again for all our future painting needs. read more

Very disappointed in Dave and his crew. He quoted a job which involved faux painting (sponging) in 2 bathrooms and when his crew arrived, they said "Sponging? What is that?" A 2 day job turned into 5 days. Dave NEVER showed up again after the initial quote. He did, however, show up after I called him to tell him that his crew scratched my brand new $900 cast iron tub. Suddenly he was available on a Sunday no less. The bathrooms look like crap. They got paint all over EVERYTHING, including my brand new medicine cabinets, then took sandpaper to get the paint off. The same thing with my brass light fixtures, and took the finish right off of those as well. He tried to resolve the bathroom issues by sending his crew back to "fix the paint job" I did NOT want his crew anywhere near my bathrooms again, and I told him as much. The other rooms which were solid in color were not bad, but no better than I could have done myself. In hindsight, I would've done the painting myself and saved $1000. I would not hire him again. read more

Dave was great, and he was really fast! We have a 500 square foot deck above the garage that really got wrecked by all the winter weather and desperately needed to be re-stained and fast - we were having a party in two-weeks. Dave gave a rough estimate over the phone by my description and some pictures, reminded me that it was rough until he saw the deck (which i appreciated) and had someone out within the week to clean and then a couple of days later to stain. The weather cooperated and we have a deck that looks the way it did when we first installed it 2-years ago. His prices are very competitive, but with his attention to detail, promptness and honesty, he was a delight to work with and i'll definitely be calling him for other jobs! read more

I hired Your Painters to paint our deck last summer because they offered the best price and had many good reviews. They did a great job, and even made a joke of "adding value" by killing several wasps that were nesting under the railings. The next summer, we noticed some of the paint starting to peel. We called Dave and they came out to scrape & re-paint the peeling area. Scheduling the work was a bit of a challenge due to the weather, but Dave was determined to finish the job and make sure we were happy with the final result. I have never posted a review but I felt like I had to let people know about Dave and his crew. I always appreciate when someone gives me a real recommendation. Dave and his crew have been awesome. We hired them initially to paint some interior rooms in our house. It was so nice to deal with someone that wasn't just trying to make a sale. Before we found them, We had spoke to multiple companies that gave us ridiculous prices or were just way to pushy for us. I hate dealing with salesman especially when it comes to something as personal as your home. Dave on the other hand was wonderful to deal with throughout the whole process. I appreciate his honesty and most of all. I like to know that the person I am dealing with I can trust or count on. He's places emphasis on his work not just closing the deal. He gave us realistic pricing, not overly priced. And he does an amazing amazing job. We have now used them for painting the whole interior of our house and just recently they painted the outside of our house. Looks beautiful! I would recommend him to anyone. I hired Dave / Your Painters to paint my family room , the ceiling, and also to paint my kitchen walls. I went with him b/c he was friendly and gave a reasonable quote. BIG MISTAKE. He told me during my estimate that having an accent wall typically costs extra, but he could throw that in. Well, he told me right before my project started that an accent wall would be an extra $65... fine. He said the painters would come at 8, but they never showed up. I finally heard from him and he apologized for the miss-communication, that they'd be there later...fine. Krystian did our ceilings, and he did a wonderful job, and was very professional. The other 2 painters Dave sent: were unprofessional, took smoke breaks every 45 mins, barely taped up the walls, so their edges were very poor and they got gray paint splotches all around my window trims. They missed a bunch of areas as well. At one point, I pointed out an area the painter missed before they left, and she didn't have a small brush, so i gave her my DAUGHTER's CRAYOLA PAINT BRUSH so that she could at least finish the edging:( I had a big problem with their quality of work. My other problem with these 2 painters was that they took 2 days just to paint my kitchen, which is by no means big - they were so incredibly slow. They crammed ALL my living room furniture into my kitchen, and everything was tarped and covered (I was living like this for days). However, they still managed to get splotches of paint on the floor and cabinets. At least Dave sent Krystian (and someone else) to come back and fix up the trim for me, and finish the areas that the first painters completely missed (before I paid the invoice). But I do not recommend this company AT ALL. ALSO - It would have been nice for Dave to have given me a discount for the piss poor job of his 2 painters. It would have been really nice if Dave actually came over to the work site, at any point, to see the quality of his painters' work, and make sure everything was going ok. But he does not do that at all. It's a shame. read more

Working with Dave was great. He gave me a good estimate, but when I removed jobs from the estimate, the price was a little high. His crew didn't work even close to his estimated hours. I called and asked for a reduction in price and he game me close to what i expected. His workers took their time and were very slow in the beginning. I e-mailed Dave to set up an in home estimate for a partial paint job on the interior of our house. He contacted me within seconds of sending him the e-mail to schedule an appointment. He was very honest, straightforward and concise. I was very impressed with his level of professionalism. We ended up painting the rest of our house as well because we were very satisfied with his straightforward attitude. He sent out TJ to get the job done. TJ did a wonderful job with the paint. He helped me move the furniture around and put it back together after he was done. You won't be sorry for choosing them to do your paint job for you because there really is no gimmick.
