This is exactly why I love purchasing Groupons. I can try out a location for a reasonable price and either come back again or decide against it. I came here because I saw Liposculpture by Design advertised on Groupon and I was a bit curious about their services. Glad I went because I met some truly lovely people. I did a little research before purchasing the Groupon and found out that this office offers massages, facials, laser hair removal, alternative treatment to injuries, weight loss, botox and a host of other services. The Groupon I purchased was for a resurface facial, aromatherapy massage and a paraffin wax dipping for the hands. It was a reasonable price and allowed me to try a few of their services at one time. The office has two entrances, one on the upstairs and the other on the back of the bulding on the first level. Once I figured out it was best that I enter on the 1st level on the back portion of the building, I entered and I was a bit confused. It looked like a normal medical office. I was greeted by the very vibrant and helpful receptionist by the name of Camille. She was such a pleasure to meet and instantly made me feel right at home. After filling out a brief medical history, I was escorted upstairs for my services. I said the 1st level looked like a medical office, well, the 2nd level looked like a spa. Very interesting layout. The massage I received was ok, but with the amount of noise I could hear in the room next to us and in the hallway, it was far from being relaxing. After my massage I sat in the waiting room for my facial. While waiting, the owner of the office, Dr. Mussenden, came over and introduced herself to me. She's a very pleasant person and I was impressed that she took the time to introduce herself and to get to know me. She even explained the background of the office and the services that she provides. Very interesting person. I then went in to have my facial. I was a bit less impressed with my facial. The estetician didn't use a magnifying glass/light to view my pores and while running an errand after I left, I noticed she didn't get all of the facial mask off of my face. I literally had to go into a public restroom and use some water and a paper towel to get the remnants of the mask off. I didn't get to get the paraffin wax dip because I was told that it was too messy. Instead, myself and the emplyoyee stood in the bathroom where she gave me a scoop full of scrub so I could exfoliate my hands and lower arms. Pretty awkward standing in the bathroom doing this, but my skin did feel soft after. I'm a bit up in the air about if I will return or not. I liked the staff, but I wasn't 100% impressed by the services I received. It's in a perfect location and the decor was nice, but I'm not sure if the services I received would be worth me paying full price. 3.5 Stars I was casually browsing Instagram one day and came across a friend's post that referenced this place. I started researching and quickly discovered they offer a facial that helps with nasal congestion for allergy sufferers like myself. I started calling to make an appointment and eventually received a call back. When I arrived, I was a little confused because the entrance to the spa was locked. I had to call (fortunately someone answered) and advised me to go around back to the lower level entrance. As previous Yelpers have stated, the lower level has a clinical feel. However, the upstairs looks like a modern spa. During my facials, the esthetician Camille focused on my nasal sinus cavities. The massaging helped relieve pressure, inflammation, and congestion. Camille is knowledgeable and has a vibrant personality; she's a very likeable lady. The only problem that I had was the fact that she's like quadruple encumbered. Aside from her work as an esthetician, she serves as the Jade therapy expert, office manager, and receptionist. I've had 2 facials there and both times she was interrupted by colleagues needing assistance... Your Body by Design is a medical spa. As such they offer a lot of services, but I think they are extremely understaffed. With the seasons changing, I recently called trying to schedule another facial to no avail... When I finally got through, I was informed that Camille wasn't available until some time in December. read more

I've been coming here for several months for laser hair removal (full legs) after buying a Groupon deal. Dr. Mussenden is great - she is a warm, caring doctor and makes the experience of being blasted with a laser as easy as possible. She definitely knows a lot about the laser hair removal process - the growth patterns/timing, what level to set the laser to, etc. - and I like how she explains what she is doing to me in a way that conveys respect for me as an intelligent patient. Her staff is pretty good too - always friendly and nice about rescheduling. My only complaints are that it can be hard to get an appointment (but this is much more so for large areas like full legs) and that I have been kept waiting a couple times. But overall I love this practice and will probably return for other procedures. From my understanding, laser hair removal works differently on different people, and so it may or may not make a big difference for you over the course of 6 treatments. I am noticing significant less growth (sparser, thinner, and slower to grow back) on my lower legs, but not so much on my thighs. Also, it will hurt! Get the numbing cream! read more

I downloaded Yelp just so that I can read what others have to say about this establishment and am disappointed to see that the last review was posted 6 years ago and while some of the reviews are positive they are mainly about Dr Mussenden and the few other comments are about Camille which is who I wanted to hear more about. However the few comments about her basically describes my disappointment about her practice and her staff. Camille has a great personality and is very welcoming however after that first encounter and after she collects payment for services upfront (the worst mistake I've ever made) you can't get a hold of her especially when it comes to trying to schedule a follow up appointment is a total DISASTER. I bout a package which includes 5 sessions of massages and lymphatic drainage in March of 2021 and as of this posting I've only had 2 sessions so far. It's been a nightmare trying to schedule my appointments either I can't get in touch with Camille or when I manage to get through I get her rude ass receptionist who is HORRIBLE...very bad bedside manners. Anyways when I finally get a chance to speak with someone I get to hear how busy Camilles schedule is and therefor my appointment will have to be scheduled two months out. I have a feeling that this chick cares more about collecting her fees and less about her clients because after that initial interaction and payment she goes GHOST on you. To make matters worst I got an email stating that now I have to go online and schedule my own appointments however the link to the page she sent out looks and feels like a 5 year old created it. It lacks proper instructions...it would have helped if some information would have been pre populated for ease and as a starting point. Reading through her detail instructions if feels like an reading a first graders summer vacation papers. I truly regrets having spent all that money at this HORRIBLE AND TERRIBLE establishment but you live and learn. I see why there aren't any new or current Yelp reviews you and your practice should go out of business and you should consider stop SCAMMING people out of their hard earn money. Did laser hair removal with them. More than half the time, the secretaries at the front ignore you. They let you stand there in front of them for several minutes without acknowledging you. They're too busy gossiping on the phone or staring at their computer screens. So rude. The "doctor" forgot about me during my last two appointments. For both appointments, I was left waiting for her in the waiting rooms for 1 hr. to 1 and 1/2 hrs. BOTH TIMES!! My first four appointments, I only waited 20 minutes max! read more

I bought a Groupon for Your Body by Design in hopes of getting a massage on my birthday.  I looked on their website to get a feel for their establishment and it seemed nice enough so I booked an appointment. I didn't request a female massage therapist (my mistake) because based on what appeared to be a staff photo on their website, all of their massage therapist were female. I was wrong. No big deal, I rescheduled the appointment for another time. Well at least I tried to. The manager, Camille, was supposed to reschedule me and she promised she would call me the following day to get something on the books. She felt bad that I was unable to get a massage for my birthday. Well she didn't call me, and after 3 days I had to call them (strike 1). When I finally scheduled and attended my appointment,  the 2 women at the front desk were extremely rude. They sat and gossipped about customers, including me. They talked about how at my last visit I didn't have a female massage therapist (strike 2). I waited in the lobby for my massage therapist to arrive. Well she NEVER did (strike 3). One of the employees there was very apologetic and explained I would get 3 free massages because of the negative experience I had had thus far. They also divulged that the massage therapist who was a no show was terminated. Thats cool, i guess, but i didnt need that information, thats a private personnel matter.... I called Groupon and requested a refund. I don't know how their massages are because I never got one, but they lack professionalism. Camille was nice but that wasn't enough for me to give my money or time to their establishment. read more

I love the doctor and her bedside manner. I am getting the laser hair removal. However, I've been here 6 times and she has been at least 20 minutes late each time. I work full time so have to squeeze the appointment in and I'm always sitting wasting my time. If it wasn't for that, I'd give her 5 stars. read more

I had baught a groupon for laser hair removal. When I first walked in they asked me to come join them in the back. I thought that was weird and that maybe they had me mistaken. We all stood in a circle as one of the doctors read a prayer for the day. He explained how they begin everyday with a prayer. I'm not very religious, but what if I had been an atheist?! Beside the weirdness and being caught off by this I thought it was nice and has much to say about the practice. I enjoyed my first laser hair removal experience. They first numbed the area so that it wouldn't hurt as bad. The doctor was the sweetest most friendly doctor ever! I enjoyed her very much. I completed one session and am on my way right now to my second session. I am pleased with the hair removal so far. I would recommend this practice for laser hair removal. read more

Bought a living social for a massage package. Renee is excellent. She even gave me advice for in-home self massage for in-between sessions. She pinpoints those glutes to stretch out the back and thighs which is often missed by other therapists. read more

I have been using Dr. Mussenden for full brazilian laser hair removal treatments and she is just simply amazing. She walks you through the entire process, makes you feel relaxed and overall just a great person. It's like she's a second mom! she makes the experience as easy and painless as possible. As part of your annual gyn examine you are eligible for a free facial in the Medi-Spa. I had my complementary facial with Camille yesterday and it was GREAT! I loved the Jade facial (high frequency light therapy ) so much so that I am scheduled to do whole body on friday! Camille is super knowledgeable and extremely personable. Dr. Mussenden and her staff are wonderful. Dr. Mussenden is such a nice person; she makes you feel very comfortable and is extremely good at the services that she renders. Her nurse is wonderful too! I've recently completed a full round of 6 laser hair removal treatments. I am happy to report that I am totally hair free! Dr. Mussenden and her staff exemplify wonderful customer service. For each of my appointments, I was seen right away. She explained my treatment and reviewed my progress at each appointment. I was happy, she was happy so we both were amazed at my quick results. I was totally hairless by my third appointment that I had to space my appointments by 2 months. The facilities are clean and very calming. I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal about two months ago. I called Your Body By Design as soon as I purchased the Groupon and they scheduled me for an appointment today. They told me to get there a few minutes early to fill out forms, etc. I live in DC, so it took me an hour and change to get there. I took a metro and bus and got there well ahead of time. When I checked in, the secretary had a blank look on her face. Despite me calling and scheduling, the scheduler never put my appointment on the schedule. I was in the system so clearly I called them, they just never followed through on their end. Extraordinarily unprofessional. The only consolation they gave me was to schedule my next appointment. I don't think so. I called Groupon immediately and got my money back, but not without some pushing. If you can't even schedule clients properly, you're not much of a business to begin with. read more

i'm not sure why this business hasn't had a review in several years, but dr. mussenden is great and the office admins are as well. she explains very thoroughly how the laser works, how it destroys your hair, and makes a large effort to help minimize the pain. i bought a groupon from her for 5 session each on two large areas. i have had 3 laser hair removal session with her on the lower leg and brazilian. i have seen reduced hair growth and thinner hair. i have 2 more sessions left with her in both of these areas, and i'm likely to continue with several more treatments in those areas if needed and am going to have her to my underarms. read more

I have had a great experience with Dr.Mussenden with my laser hair removal sessions. I purchased a groupon for 5 laser hair removal sessions for my underarms so far I've had good results after four sessions. I still have a little hair but there has been a dramatic reduction. I do not have to shave as often and the hair is much more finer. The scheduling for me has been relatively easy I prefer morning appointments and the earliest I can get is 8:30 and a occasional Saturday appointment in the morning. If I do schedule a appointment later in the day sometimes there can be a wait. Dr. Mussenden has a wonderful bedside manner she is very knowledgeable about laser hair removal and let me know what I should expect from the process. I was really concern since I have hyper pigmentation and I have been to places that couldn't do anything for me. She has made it a wonderful visit every time I come. She has a great personality and will keep you distracted with conversation while lasering which can be slightly uncomfortable but not painful. I will continue to be a client after my groupon ends for my laser hair removal. I would recommend her to my friends, family and anyone who is looking for a Doctor to perform laser hair removal especially on women of color. read more
