I began volunteering with Rabbit ears for about a month to learn about these special critters. I really love the attention that the volunteers and the owner give to the rabbits and the guinea piggies. I felt very welcomed by the other volunteers and learnt so much about these special creatures. I have now adopted two Flemish rabbits from Rabbit Ears and love them very much! Rabbit ears taught me how to interact with my rabbits, what to feed them, and what to not feed them. My buns also came litter box trained, which is a huge benefit! So, if you were interested in owning rabbits or piggies, consider volunteering to learn more and only adopt! To adopt or volunteer, make an appointment before stopping by! Once you get to know the buns and piggies and they come into your life, you will benefit so much like I have. Highly recommend!

I noticed something in one of the latest one-star reviews -- someone named Paul described exactly what I've experienced myself: Feathered Follies refuses to take ownership of the unethical things they do. Sorry, Paul, that you went through this. Hopefully this helps others see what they're really about. And don't let the owner's daughter talk you out of it -- I've experienced her dishonesty firsthand, and it's still going on. One more thing worth reading: the other top one star review. As it echoes their biggest problem of that barely their store. They don't tell you everything. If it's something that can cost them a sale. You need to know this. Here is one of my personal story's. After my purchase I found out from their own groomer. That they (the store ) knew about my caique's seizures. As he had them consistently when have his beak and nails done. They even had his medical history from what I was told from the vet. They at the least new about the seizures with there own groomer. I had to discover it myself. Becoming a detective as I saw what they where doing . They charged me over sixteen hundred dollars for a bird with chronic seizures. They did this knowing I loved him and had a decade-plus history with him. In my opinion, they took advantage of that bond. When I came back to talk about the dishonest sale, the owner's daughter offered a full refund -- if I gave them the bird back. No. I wouldn't do that. I asked for a partial refund instead, since they'd been dishonest from the start. They refused, of course -- they knew I'd never give him up, and they counted on it. Our story is deep and real; they didn't care. They just wanted my sixteen hundred dollars. Please, before you buy from them or even walk into the store, read the one star reviews. It's to everyone's benefit to know what you're walking in to. You want to know how dumb being unethical like this is. This store has terrible hours. Insanely overpriced products. As well as some of the most awkward people you'll ever talk to. This is coming from somebody who's front row in the awkward line. I am loyal to a fault though. If the store that had my boy! Gave me a wonderful memory instead of a nightmare life moment. I would've gone back to them maybe every week. Maybe purchased another bird from them. Absolutely would've bought their overpriced food and toys!! As that's what I was doing up to that point. Diane at Animalsavers is very thorough and the application can look daunting, but don't let it discourage you. You will learn something during the process. I would recommend having your questions ready for when you go and meet the dog and make sure you get all of the information you need before making a decision. We were well prepared but for first timers, this is just a bit of advice as animals are not disposable they are like kids and a huge responsibility. Our dog (we named her Korra) ended up being older than we were told, but that happens with rescues and was not a big deal. She did have some skin issues that have since cleared up after a round of antibiotics and some medicated baths. She needed her teeth cleaned badly which I would never expect a rescue to afford but we knew that when we met her and checked her teeth. She has since had them cleaned and is in tip top shape and is a total lover and loves to show us her new smile. Adoption process was smooth and painless. We love our new baby! When I reached out for an update, excited to adopt, I was talked down to and ultimately denied a kitten because I have plants and an outdoor (enclosed) patio. Unfortunately, it wasn't much of a discussion and presented as a final decision that I wouldn't be able to keep a kitten from munching on my plants or escaping out the door. I'm a responsible pet owner of many years, and I even have a spare room to keep my plants and and would have kept the kitty inside. Very disappointing. I wouldn't work with them again.
