The plants are very well cared for thanks to an employee named Lawrence. Lawrence has mega knowledge about plants, fertilizers, weed killers and how to treat garden pests. On the downside, I have spent time searching for an employee to help me. They just do not seem to care. I was looking for a specific tool. The young woman was stocking something. So she points to one of several isles . No walking me back to be sure I found what I wanted. Looking at fertilizers. Here again a man was stocking but did not offer to help. Poor customer service. If I am desperate I go there but I much prefer the Weaverville store.

Don't know what happened here…read more When I came back post-COVID the friendly, knowledgeable craftspersons who had always helped me weren't back. I came to purchase a Festool product. I called in advance. Ensured the product was in stock and let them know I had questions and was on my way. The Festool guy asked two other peeps to answer my questions, including a phone handler who said she didn't know anything about the product. After the second staff told the Festool guy I had questions, he grudgingly came over. Pretty sure I was being marginalized cuz I am a chick. Really don't enjoy being treated poorly when I come to spend $500. We won't be back. I can be dissed for free.

I was harassed today by an employee named Yates in the parking lot…read more I visited this Lowe's because they had some dewalt tool kits on sale so I purchased the rest of the kits for our company and it seemed like the employee, which was an older gentleman named Yates, was upset that I did so. It seems as though these Lowe's employees intentionally hide/stock their top shelves with clearance items so that they can purchase them at a discounted cost on their own time and do not list these items for clearance or sale on their own sales floor. Since I knew these items were on clearance, the tool department was upset because they couldn't purchase them for themselves when I came to buy them all. I ended up spending $1500 on 7 dewalt tools sets and the male Employee Yates stalked me to my car to take a picture of my license plate because he was so upset that the pile of tools he was hiding for his own personal gain was found by a paying customer. When I rolled down the window to ask him why he was taking a picture of my vehicle he said it was because he collects "random pictures of vehicles". I called the store manager and spoke to Adam who said he'd handle the situation. I'll be following up with the district manager to make sure this employee is properly dealt with for the creepy/unprofessional behavior. Completely unnecessary to follow a paying customer who is spending a good chunk of change on their merchandise, horrible look for Lowe's as a whole.

They were quick to respond by text, saying they were able to sharpen the machete that day. They're located smack downtown in Asheville on a side street (Eagle St) just off Biltmore Avenue. Parking was tight, but I was able to pop in, greeted by two very affable, friendly and welcoming employees (I assume they were owners, since they were so willing to take care of my job). The gentleman with whom I had been texting told me he'd have it ready in about 30 minutes and suggested I grab a cup of coffee and come back. The job was done excellently, and the young woman at the counter checked me out in no time. I live in Greensboro, about 2.5 hours from Asheville, and I had been unable to find any hardware store or other business who could take on the job, so this was a great place to get the job done (I was going to be in Asheville anyway, so I didn't make the trip just to get the machete sharpened). I enthusiastically recommend this local business. They have a very upscale operation and know how to take care of customers, plus they know their knives!

They had issues related to a mill being stolen but I was willing to wait because they're a small, local company. So Jared says my slab is set to be cut first week of May and he contacted me May 3rd to verify measurements and he says they're getting ready to cut it. That's the last contact Jared had with me. I recommended to my family to go to hilltop for an unrelated wood project. While they were at hilltop in early July, they asked about the status of my wood slab and were told "yeah, we couldn't do that". That was the entire explanation. I never heard from Jared. Horrible customer service and honestly would never do business with them. I'd still be waiting if family members hadn't happened to ask while they were there. Do yourself a favor and go to Asheville Hardware instead, I walked in and had my pick of over 100 slabs, got one for cheaper than hilltop quoted me and had it in my garage that same day. So hilltop took 6 months and I got no slab. Asheville Hardware, I had a slab in my truck within an hour. The owner of hilltop left me a voicemail after I contacted them. Apparently he had no idea any of the issues with my order or the customer service I received which isn't a good sign for an extremely small business.
