Miller Brewery Tour - The Miller Inn

Loved. I'm a ho for…read morea brewery tour of any kind. I have been to so many of them: Guinness, Heineken, carlsberg, Bacardi, dogfish head, anheuser busch, Kentucky bourbon trail. The whole 9. I would enjoy them all. I thought the miller one was very interesting even though we didn't get to see the most interesting part of a brewery tour: the bubbling vats of beer. It was apparently over 100 degrees in there so they weren't talking anyone in on the day of our visit. Our tour guides were very good. They did an excellent job. It wasn't too long but it was long enough. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are visiting Milwaukee.

Be forewarned that you must pre register online to take the tour and it's $20 for adults. At the gift shop/visitor center there is plenty of free parking. About 25% of the tour is outdoors but that is mainly walking from the visitor center to the various buildings you visit. The tour takes about 80 minutes. My your started at 3 pm and had about 25 people in it given by two tour guides. They told us that the entire campus encompasses 78 acres. The tour covers walking through 3 or 4 buildings that show the brewing and packaging process which was interesting to see. It's impressive how much beer they make here everyday and all of the brands they support. We also went into the old cave room where beer barrels were stored before refrigeration to keep the brew cool. That room had a beautiful mural in one wall. I enjoyed this tour and recommend it. Also each adult is given 3 beer samples of about 4 oz each. I picked Blue Moon, Hamm's and Miller High Life.

The neighborhood has old Milwaukee feel, like true residential feel. This place was restored roughly 25 years ago. It was originally built in 1886 and condemned to be torn down before they saved it. It took 7 years to really revive it. The grounds, the building, the details, the architecture, and sheer care that went into this place is very evident. It is so beautiful and the hospitality is even beyond. Truly a wonderful experience. I don't stay at bed and breakfast much because I usually opt for the hotels and it's amenities but I must this place definitely has changed my mind---although it is unique. I stayed in Sophie's room and it was very well maintained. The water pressure is actually very good and you can definitely come and go as you please. The breakfasts are delicious. They will use vegetables from the yard for omelets or Andrew's famous French toast w/ "brewed" vanilla. They are wonderful company and extremely cordial and down to earth folks. If I ever come back to Milwaukee---because this was a random spur-of-the-moment trip--I would stay here again. Definitely recommending it to others!

Megan has been our personal rep now for a few trips and all of her hard work makes my vacation seamless. I am a bit of a worrier, but she answered every question with ease and a friendliness that is second to none. Heck, I would have been annoyed by me! But not Megan. Our latest trip to Cabo was fantastic. On her recommendation, we changed our plans from a property that may have not suited our needs to a fantastic property of Dreams Los Cabos and it was wonderful. This company really holds up its end of making your travel a great experience. Megan also helped with the front end and the travel docs and COVID issues that travelers have to do. My only suggestion would be if you are traveling to Mexico and the immigration form is online, make SURE you print it on one piece of paper: Front and Back. The immigration will not take two pages of the form. This is not a knock on Bon Voyage or Megan, as rules change probably while we were in the air! HAHAHA. I will continue to use Bon Voyage Travel for all of my future vacation needs. Besides, it feels good to say, "I have a personal travel agent!" :)
