Check their Facebook page for updates, which are frequent. https://www.facebook.com/cjbbqcatering Chatted with the pitmaster, and his origin was from New Orleans, and up the Mississippi through Chicago, if that gives you a sense for his style. I had the pulled pork, which was perfectly done, and the wife had the chicken, which was also excellent, and also totally moist. The smoked mac was a pleasant surprise. They're located in The Market, which unfortunately has gone to seed somewhat, but all the best BBQ joints are hole-in-the-wall family joints anyway, so don't let that fool you. I really hope this place succeeds, they deserve our support. I'll be returning.

We served pulled pork and ribs along with peach bourbon bacon baked beans, mac & cheese, and salad, and everything was incredible. The pulled pork was delish and even had burnt ends, the ribs were tender and perfectly smoky, and the baked beans with that peach bourbon twist and bacon were a huge hit. The mac & cheese was a crowd pleaser and exactly what you want at a family friendly celebration like this. Not only was the food amazing, but the whole experience was smooth and stress-free. The team was friendly, organized, and made everything easy on such an important day. The Mocha had good flavor, and the right amount of chocolate (sometimes they can taste more like hot chocolate). They warmed up the cake and it was absolutely delicous. It was a good portion, with more than enough to share. My friend got the oatmeal, and that was also amazingly good. The bowl was brimming with oats and all the optional toppings. You like walnuts? There were enough in that one bowl to make a cake! Everything was delicious. My one criticism was that they do not have mugs for the hot beverages. Just not a fan of sitting down for a inside coffeeshop experience with a paper cup. Service: The people helping us out were both super friendly. Explained the different menu choices. They offer gluten "friendly" bakery, and let us know that they try hard to contain any cross contamination.. I don't have a gluten issue, but that was good to know. Gave great service for our entire stay. Atmosphere: The place is nicely designed. Plenty of natural light through the front and side windows. The seating is arranged for different size groups, and it was easy to have a quiet conversation. The design is simple, casual, and very open. It was a relaxing space. I chose prix fixe for four people. We chose to do ham, classic stuffing, maple carrots, pimento mac and cheese and rolls. The menu said mashed potatoes/gravy and salad were included in this choice. Pickup was pretty slick, not many cars in the queue and employees had all food pre-boxed up and ready to go. I drove the 25 minutes over there, got my box, and drove the 25 minutes home. Then I noticed that they omitted my salad. I called them and they said I could drive back out there for the salad... so I did. (in total i spent 100 minutes in the car going back and forth to get the food. On the day of thanksgiving we realized that they gave us the wrong stuffing as well. The ham was measured out by pound and we got 2 lbs for four people - which would have been fine if 60% of it wasn't fat! We ended up putting more in the dog bowl than on our plates. The reheating instructions stated that we needed to put all the food in the oven covered to reheat it, and they gave us paper lids??? So then I had to use a bunch of foil to cover all the items. The mac and cheese (which is made with penne?) had no pimentos in it (i figured the red pimentos would be easy to see) but it didn't get any love as it was BONE dry pasta noodles. Bummer. The mashed potatoes, [forgotten] salad, and carrots were good, though the carrots were devoid of any maple flavors. For $200 we all just expected more. Just another case of restaurants over-selling to the point of mixing up too many things. I probably wouldn't order from them again.
