Hostess was kind enough to include two side miso soups ! Can't believe my eyes when the hostess walked over with a HUGE bag! I said "holy cow!" She laughed gleefully at my reactions before handing me my order! This costs me $52.79 with tips. It sounds pricey, I know but it's enough to feed three of us! Tempura is well seasoned and the teriyaki items are well balanced. I'm a happy camper! Service: hostess is very friendly and goes above and beyond with helping me. Came here to try the sushi with the expectation that it's not going to be high quality and everything turned out fine haha. You're not going to get the best cuts that melt in your mouth, but you're going to get the classic nigiris/sashimi options that's aite. If you like rolls, you'll like this place too. There were quite a few people here on a Wednesday afternoon. The place is spacious, seating around 40 people at maximum capacity. The AC and ventilation was welcoming on a warm day. My friend ordered the Spicy Tuna and Avocado Roll, while I ordered the Lunch Bento Box with Chicken Teriyaki and Salmon Sashimi. Our miso soups came with carrots and cabbage, and what they had in the soups were quite heavy and filling. With the normal ingredients and taste I expected for Japanese miso, this was not it. Although my chicken teriyaki tasted good, it was not the texture I was expecting for the chicken either. The salmon sashimi was good but nothing unique. My friend enjoyed her rolls as it being her quick lunch, but we both felt like we still needed something afterwards to quench our thirst and satisfy us food-wise. I've been coming here for the past year and they do not disappoint! I've never eaten inside (they barely re-opened to seating) but takeout has been such a smooth, fast process! While the rolls are not out of this world, they're delicious, fresh and well-made. What really gives my rating 5 stars is their customer service, each and every time I've come for pickup, their chef and front desk cashier are just the sweetest, smiling and warm welcoming, they always remember me too (probably cause they've seen me one too many times lol). My favorites are the 49'er Roll and Miso Soup; fresh fish on the roll and the miso is just perfection. They add cabbage to it which makes it more hearty and it's always served so warm. I've tried many other rolls as well and each of them are just as good. I have yet to try other items (teriyaki chicken, etc). 10/10 recommend this place! read more

I love this little local joint, with the sweetest folks running the register. It's our local spot for fast, affordable, decent sushi. Don't expect high quality stuff here, but for everything from a good chirashi bowl or sushi roll to a good bowl of udon, they've got you covered here. The worst. Really, THE worst. I should have walked down the street to a place I know has good quality sushi. I also should have paid attention to how dilapidated it looks. The person who waited on me was just off. Way off. I told her I wanted Unagi but she never wrote it down then ignored me for at least 10-15 minutes. Then she turned on KOIT which was crazy awful. I finally ordered and will skip that because about 5 minutes later the most delightful person arrived who was clearly the hostess/wait person. My "sushi" arrived. My god, what an insane disappointment. The rice, holy smokes, the rice. Watery tasteless and just awful. The unagi was so awful it was ridiculous. Like it had some bottled glop of brown sugar stuff on it, NO sesame seeds sprinkled on top, and just bleh. I had Hamachi and it was ok, but again the rice completely ruined it. Same with the tekka maki which I can't believe I ordered. I could not get out of there fast enough. Did I mention that crappy, watery rice? I ran to my car to find something to put in my mouth to get over that experience. It wouldn't take much to bring this place up to par...it's like they didn't even try. The maki wasn't even cut evenly, the seaweed was wrapped in such a sloppy way. Ok..so let's say I wanted the cheapest worst sushi and was happy with that...the music! OMG...who listens to KOIT and old 80's hits to eat dinner by? Good thing they have a perky energetic person at the front counter. Maybe that's what the one star is for. Firstly I'd like to mention that we had a great experience ordering from here, the lady taking our order was very sweet and I can see that they take an extra effort to be courteous to their customers. They have quite a few options for vegetarians and we loved the yam tempura rolls! Definitely a favorite. The avocado cucumber rolls were also really good. I decided I love YOU SEE SUSHI. The prices at this sushi shop are old school and super cheap. The rolls are super cheap like it's 1990. The restaurant is tiny. It had a not so appealing smell. It's that old rag smell that happens when you keep using it even though it really should be thrown in the washer. The miso soup had carrots and cabbage. I thought that was odd. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento. The chicken was cut into tiny pieces, which I thought was odd. I'm accustomed to an entire chicken thigh and then sliced in thick strips. Not sure if that's there way to cut cost. The tempura was actually decent. The special rolls were the same size as a California roll with extra stuff on it. I expected the rolls to be bigger. The waitress was kind and nice. So no issues with the customer service end. I've been going to You See Sushi for years, pretty much when they first opened under McSushi and then became We Be Sushi (the original). I like them because of their simplicity. They are a small mom and pop type place that keeps the menu basic and the prices very reasonable. I love that I can get pieces of various sashimi in increments of threes...amaebi especially! They offer simple bento boxes without all the craziness, which can be quite comforting when you want basic Japanese food or sushi. Sure, they start you off with healthy carrot sticks and their miso soup has cabbage instead of seaweed and tofu. But there's a reason they have been open so long, regulars like us appreciate the slight differences. I love their huge mugs of tea and I like that their menu rarely changes, nor do the prices. It's a comforting place. Whenever I go, I usually stick to the sashimi and some nigiri - hamachi, sake, saba, amaebi, ikura, uni, albacore, etc. Sometimes I'll throw in a roll to mix it up a bit, but I love my raw fish. Other friends stick by their Dinner Special which to them means a lot of bang for their buck. It's one of my comfort places...and it's nice when the owners see you and recognize you. Based on the quality, I had serious doubts that the salmon they cut here is actually sashimi grade, though thank goodness it didn't give me food poisoning afterwards. Much better off to stock up on cheap sushi fix from Nijiya Market instead, even more affordable and also quality lvl+ x100 in comparison to You See Sushi. Great for a college student on a budget. Came in with my friend who's been there before. They had "meals" for their dinner specials. I got the Special Dinner meal #2. It consisted of: Spicy Tuna & Avocado Roll (6 pieces), Cucumber Roll (6 pieces), Nigiri (one piece each): Tuna, Eel, Albacore, Salmon, Yellowtail & Inari, miso soup for $9.95. I added a Tako-Maki (Octopus) (6 pieces) for around $2.15? I am not exact on the prices but overall it was cheap. The rolls are a bit small hence the cheap prices, but I was pretty satisfied with my meal. Their miso soup was different instead of tofu and seaweed it had cabbage and carrots. Also, instead of the traditional edamame when you are seated we got a mugful of carrot sticks. Overall, I was satisfied with the food for what I paid. Not a bad way to get a sushi fix if you are on a budget. If I am in the neighborhood I will be roaming around again. There's a lot more I would like to check out on their menu. Inexpensive, fresh fish, different interpretations on certain items (Pass on the Poke Bowl and the Fried Shitaki Mushroon Tempura Roll), Chicken Teriaki Bento is decent, Sushi and Rolls are cheap as portion sizes are smaller than other places but enough to fill you up.
