I have been seeing Monique for almost 10 years now. I used to drive from Redlands to Brentwood when she was at her prior salon. Since starting to see here I've moved to Northern California and now to Philly and I still see her for hair --she's that good! I'm a natural brunette and over the years she's done highlights, lowlights, made me blonde (she's a true expert in transforming non-blondes to blonde!), and back to brunette. My hair has also been touched by the magic hands of Brittany and Angelina! Melissa exclusively does my keratin straightening treatments. You can't go wrong with any of these ladies! Aside from the exceptional hair you'll walk out with, nothing beats the vibe! It's relaxing yet fun. Dog friendly which is always a perk! Everyone is attentive and warm. I usually stay longer than I need to just to hang out! read more

You Pretty Things - Haircut by Monique (early years of me seeing her) - Hair Salons Near Me - Los Angeles, California

The absolute best salon! Monique keeps my hair beautifully blonde and does the most stylish cuts. Highly recommend ‍

I've known Monique for about 20 years, and when I say she changed my hair, I'm not exaggerating! She was the first stylist who didn't immediately want to chop off all my hair and, instead, really understood what I was looking for. She has been with me through so many hairstyles and phases over the years--bangs, the lob, ombré, balayage, and everything in between! Through it all, she somehow always knows exactly what will work for me. I especially love how she makes my hair look beautifully sun-kissed and completely natural. I get so many compliments! I only trust Monique with my hair. She is incredibly talented at what she does, and she has been there through so many different seasons and hair changes--including postpartum and periods of stress. And the best part? She's also the sweetest, funniest, and most beautiful person! Her entire team is so kind and welcoming. I cannot recommend Monique or anyone at You Pretty Things enough. They are all fantastic, and you will absolutely leave feeling prettier than when you walked in! read more

I genuinely love coming here. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, everyone is friendly, and it actually feels like a place you want to hang out in, not just rush in and out of. I also love that it's dog friendly, which somehow just adds to the whole experience. Aside from atmosphere, they truly do an amazing job with hair. This is the first salon I've been to where I can show a picture of what I want and actually walk out with exactly that. They really listen, pay attention to details, and make sure you feel confident before you leave. Highly recommend if you want great hair and a genuinely good experience every time! Oh and they'll serve you delicious coffee drinks as well :) read more

You Pretty Things - Obsessed with this color - Hair Salons Near Me - Los Angeles, California

to me, the biggest compliment to my hairstylist is when someone stops me on the street to ask who does my hair.....this happens to me ALL THE TIME. I first came to Monique in 2015 with my base bumped yellow gold hair and she TRANSFORMED ME. I will never look back and I will never go anywhere else!! Monique does a blonding like no one else. There's no other way to say it, her blonde looks expensive. She gave me a creamy buttery blonde with depth and dimension- I'm telling you, she made my hair my thing. And all the stylists at You Pretty Things are Uber talented, get ready to upgrade your life:) read more

When I say that I have been looking for a colorist like Brittany for years, I actually mean about a decade. I know that sounds dramatic but it's true. I have been on the hunt for a stylist who can give my hair dimension as a blonde. In my mind it seems straight-forward but every stylist I would go to, would nod and smile during the consultation and then give me a block of blonde that washed me out and made me feel defeated after spending so much money. I used to think it was just me and that I needed to try harder to explain or maybe it just wasn't possible but I stopped gaslighting myself and decided to keep searching. I'm so glad I did. From the very beginning, she sat with me patiently as I over-explained in hopes that maybe just maybe, this time it would make sense. It did and it was so simple. All I can say is that she listens, she is incredibly talented and she's a sweetheart. Thank you for your magic, Brittany! ‍ read more

I've been going to Monique for years and she is an absolute magician. She, and all the ladies at You Pretty Things, are extremely talented. I have curly hair and I've tried so many stylist over the years that just weren't a good fit for me. Emily from day one made me feel so comfortable and took such great care of my curls that's what kept me coming back. The salon is a bits away from me but definitely worth the drive. I've been seeing Habin for a few years now and it's such a relief to have a stylist you can trust to make you look good. You know, where after you get your hair cut/colored, you look in the mirror and feel more confident. For years, I didn't have a stylist that I trusted and I bounced around salons looking for someone who could consistently help me get a great color and haircut. I like my hair shorter, but there's a fine line between great and too short and Habin knows exactly how to give me a cut that's amazing (and that doesn't look like a mom bob)! She also brilliant with hair color. The first time I saw her, I talked about how tired I was of fighting my darker roots after coloring my hair lighter for years. She used (at least?) three different techniques, one of which I'd never heard of, to achieve the slightly darker hair I was going for, that would blend everything together, and that still looked fun and multidimensional. read more

Habin was amazing! She helped me on my wedding day and I did a sleek bun which stayed on the whole night! Not a stray hair in sight. She's also super personable and very bubbly so she's very easy to talk to. read more

You Pretty Things - Up do - Hair Salons Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Came here to get my hair done by Habin Lee and WOW she did not disappoint. She is the sweetest! Habin was so gentle on my eczema prone, sensitive scalp. Some stylists will refuse to work on my hair because of how sensitive my scalp is, but she did it perfectly! She wasn't annoyed at all by my request to not let any dye touch my scalp. I'm so grateful and amazed. I had been following her work on Instagram @hair_habin_lee for months before coming in and I regret not coming sooner! The salon itself is very pretty and clean. Restroom was also clean. The other stylists also seemed nice. read more

Absolutely love You Pretty Things! I've been coming here for years, and it's truly the best salon in the area, hands down. Monique has been taking care of my hair, she is thoughtful, talented, and always makes sure I leave feeling like the best version of myself. I get compliments on my hair constantly, and it's all thanks to her skill and care. The entire team is warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely. From the moment you walk in, you're treated with kindness and professionalism. The vibe is relaxed but polished and you can tell everyone really cares about their craft and their clients. It's the kind of place that makes you look forward to your appointment. A little gem tucked away in Silverlake, and once you find it, you'll never want to go anywhere else. Highly, highly recommend. read more

I've lived in Los Angeles my whole life and have changed hair stylists endless times until I finally found this salon. Monique and Brittany are my go-to's here. I've never been happier with my hair than I am now since these two magicians have given me the hair of my dreams! I finally was able to grow my hair out long, keep it healthy and still do blonde highlights and it's all because of these two. Brittany and Monique are the only two people I trust with my hair now and I will be a client for life. Brittany also gave me the best haircut I've ever had with some curtain bangs and long layers. Monique! Monique! Monique!! Monique!! Thank You! I've finally found someone who can cut my hair RIGHT!!! I've lived in L.A. over 10 years now, and have given my business to so many different stylists, barbers, what-have-you's. I even tried the Vidal Sassoon academy in Santa Monica. Never was I really satisfied or excited about the end result. Now, after letting Monique take a shot at my mop, I can honestly say that never will I look elsewhere again. She knew exactly what I wanted, and she knew exactly how to execute it - and do it well to boot. I've turned a lot of my friends onto her (both men and women), and all are now regulars. She gave my roomie's gf a nice cut too, and she told me herself she's never been complimented so much. Anyhow, I really hate fussing about my hair, but hey, when you get a great haircut (after searching for years in this city), well, one just feels... relieved... and happy, and confident, and attractive, and all those other perks that come with getting something of quality. Thanks Monique. read more

I cannot tell you how much I love the curl master, Sirene -- The Curly Carver! I used to straighten my hair within an inch of its life and about 4 years ago, Sirene helped me put down the flat iron and revitalize my curls. Oh the woes of the curly girl! How much we battle with our hair, hard to style, always unruly and IMPOSSIBLE to find a stylist who ACTUALLY knows how to cut curly hair. That is, until Sirene comes into your life! It only took me like 35 YEARS to find not only a hair stylist who actually knows how to cut curls but one who COMMANDS THE CURL! If there was an award for best curly hair stylist on the planet, Sirene would undoubtedly win. How can I say this with such confidence? Well gee I've only seen at least 20-30 different hair stylists in my time on this planet who claimed to know how to cut curls only to leave me looking like a pyramid. At least once a week I get curly girls asking me my secret and every time I tell them it's all about the cut and that they need to see my girl Sirene! I like to come in w pics I find from Pinterest and Sirene delivers every time. Not only does she deliver but her cuts last! They always grow out nicely. When does this ever happen? Bad for business for Sirene if I only have to cut my hair once or twice a year but it's a testament of her skill, honesty, style and realness! read more
