I'm not sure where to begin with my review because I have so many positive things to say about Yotamasters. I wanted to get rock sliders as a present for someone and was told about Yotamasters from a competitor parts store. Just so you know, I live in downtown LA so Corona is not the closest location for me, but I thought I would give them a shot. Long story short, and too bad for the competitor, but best referral EVER!!! From the minute I called and spoke with "Cari", up until the time the sliders arrived, my communication with her was professional all the way. Not only was "Cari" professional, she was very friendly, helpful, and personable. She even kept me updated daily as to when my order was going to arrive. "Cari" and the Yotamasters crew even got in on my little scheme of "ordering furniture" to make the sliders a surprise for the recipient when he picked them up. They will help you build the vehicle you will be happy with. They have a Toyota certified mechanic that works there. He fixed my 94 4 Runner with the 3.suck motor that had a check engine light issue that no other mechanic could find. It turns out it was the TPS. It's not easy finding parts for a modified 30 year old Toyota. I'm dysfunctional & pretty much disappointed with ever mech & parts store I visit. However, Yotamaster has exceeded my expectations on many occasions. Eric is the Yoda! He knows his sh*t. Old and new rigs. Brought in my 40 series Landcruiser a few weeks back, primarily for a J30 3 speed to H41 4 speed tranny swap with a twin stick upgrade kit. Before dropping the truck off, I had also been experiencing some intermittent bucking/stalling issues that I hadn't gotten around to fully troubleshooting yet. After sitting down and reviewing my issues with Eric, and trading a few cool backcountry trip suggestions, he took some additional notes on a few other issues I had while the truck was in the shop. Unfortunately, on that particular Friday, Dan the shop's authority on the older trucks, was not available. That following Monday Dan called and we spoke at length about what needed to be done and any others concerns I had. He offered several options to me and based on his knowledge and experience on these rigs, I put my trust in him. He did not disappoint. Work progressed on the truck at a steady pace. They had a few hurdles here and there, primarily sourcing a brand-new OEM vacuum advance distributor, some correct size bearings (from a rebuild kit that I had supplied), missing spacers, etc. I was very impressed with Dan's diligence in tracking down some of these hard to find/discontinued parts and his level of communication, always keeping me in the loop. I received the call last week that she was done. I picked the truck up last Friday and was immediately impressed. It seemed like the crew up at Yotamasters had taken about 25 years off this old girl. I imagined the drive home being much closer as to how it would have felt driving her out of a Toyota dealership back in '73! Needless to say, this 45-year-old rig also had its share of oil leaks coming from a multitude of areas. After her high speed (60 mph) freeway journey back to San Diego, she normally would have had several small pools of oil on my collection of drip pans. Three days later, the pans remain bone dry, how cool is that! To sum things up, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Eric and his team to any of my family/friends. These guys are incredible! They are the seventh mechanic I've taken my 1989 Toyota Hilux 4x4 pickup to. None of the other six mechanics could figure out why the check engine light has been on for 6 months. In fact, they probably caused some of the problems to begin with. Within 15 minutes Eric already found one problem - two hoses that were not connected to the EGR valve, very easy to see visually. And I had just taken the truck last week to the other mechanic! They also found an O2 sensor that was improperly grounded, an EGR modulator in need of replacement, and a throttle adjustment sensor in need of adjusting. When I got the truck back and asked Eric if the check engine light would be off he said "Yes sir", not "Hopefully" or "I think so". THESE GUYS KNOW THESE TRUCKS. It's no wonder they have 15 five star ratings (now 16). If I could give them 20 stars I would. read more

If you own a Toyota Truck (or Tacoma or FJ or 4Runner, etc) you simply won't find a better shop than these guys. These guys smoke cigarettes (sometimes while giving you a diagnosis), there's oil on the ground and the shop smells like gear lube. They also use profanity from time to time.... but you know what? They CAN, because they are about to fix your truck better than the dealer ever could (using factory parts or better) for a fraction of what you'd pay down the street. These guys also know the electronics too! They were able to help me diagnose a random stumble and replace the sensor that was causing the problem, getting my truck to run like new again. When I called the dealer for a quote on the job, the price was over 2x higher. On another job, they were able to replace only the specific drivetrain parts needed (rather than over-selling and over-charging for parts I didn't need) to get me rolling again. No small feat for having 250k miles. I'm meticulous with my 1997 Tacoma 4x4... meaning it's always detailed and running like it should... and from now on, it's going to these guys for anything more than an oil change or brakes (and I bet they do these do if you ask nice!). I am going back to him to re-gear again he is just that good. Of all the local shops in SoCal they were the most reasonably priced. There was a delay in parts (not their fault at all) and they were very patient with my questions. If I could give 6 stars, I would! We have a 4 runner where the 4 wheel drive wouldn't engage. Eric's customer service was excellent and their price for the job was very fair. He took the time to explain the issue and showed me my old parts that caused the problem. I wish we would have known that they specialize working on regular repairs on Toyota's as we would have been going there before this. They don't just work on 4 wheel drives.
