I highly recommend stopping at all the exhibits throughout the center, the Ansel Adams gallery, and the museums about the history of the park. Plus, there are two gift shops to buy all your souvenirs. There is a theater that will go through the history of the park, which was pretty cool and informative. Once you are done exploring the exhibits, make sure to follow the trails to the nearest trail to capture some cool photos in nature and even walk over to Yosemite Falls. All in all, definitely a must-see and can be spent in one day to hit all the landmarks in this area. You will be entertained and amazed by the beauty of Yosemite National Park. It was really interesting, as the fur was a lot rougher than I imagined. He was friendly and answered a few of our questions about the Yosemite wildlife. Lovely guy. The inside was airy and had some fun things to buy. Most employees we met were nice. The one star off was for the rude man who worked at the info desk (along with the nice presenter I mentioned earlier after he was done with the presentation outside... unfortunately, he was helping someone else). I asked Rude Man a few questions about some trails, and he was just not friendly. At. All. He answered in monosyllables with a low-key mean, impatient attitude. I've no idea if it's race-related (we're Asian), or if he just didn't want to be there. Either way, it didn't belong in a welcome center and he was pretty unsuited for customer service. Why work at an info desk, in a customer-facing role, if you're going to be grumpy?

After over 10 years of friendship it gets better and sweeter every year. On to the review. First night we slept up in Toulome Meadows campground in order to get adjusted to the elevation, that's always a good idea. Next day we parked at the Lembert Dome Trailhead lot and headed up towards Dog Lake. So on the way up to the Young Lakes we passed Dog Lake where we rested and continued on. Scenery in Yosemite is just incredible, ill leave it at that. It's pretty impressive when you hit the lowest of the 3 Young lakes. You walk up a slight incline, looking at Ragged peak to the right and all of a sudden the lake is right there in front of you. Just incredible. My buddies and I didn't want to stop there, we wanted to make it up to the highest of the 3 lakes and camp there for the night. Here's where things got a bit tough since we couldn't find a clearly marked trail we basically headed in the direction we felt would get us to the 2nd lake. Took us half hour but we made it to the 2nd lake. From the 2nd lake we found a slightly worn trail which led us up to the third lake and that trail was pretty tough. I mean we basically were climbing up the side of a small waterfall here with 30 pound packs. But when we finally crested that waterfall the view at the highest lake took my breath away. it's like one of those scenes from those pictures you can buy to frame for your home or that you see on flickr. I mean the lake was pristine, the mountains in the back perfectly reflecting off of it, it was just incredible. We camped right up there that night and had a great time of fellowship together. Overall, this hike was really awesome and totally worth it. We were pretty tired after that first day 8 miles up but you know what if you are thinking of going here you should definitely do it.

To get to…read moreSentinel Dome and Taft point it takes about 40 minutes once you get inside the park however, Yosemite in general, especially this hike is worth the drive. This has to be one of the most scenic hikes that I've been on. You have full view of the Yosemite Valley, and all the peaks that come with it the hike itself is medium in terms of challenging. There is some uphill which will push you but worth it when you get to the top if you feel like cheating, you can actually park in the parking lot hike about a mile and you're already at Sentinel Dome. If you go the back way, which I did the whole trip is just under 6 miles.

Literally went from the valley floor to the peak of sentinel dome. His knowledge of the park is outstanding. He picked us up at our lodge and dropped us there at the end of the day- even gave us the picnic we couldn't eat during the trip because clouds blocked the astrophotography portion. He even apologized for the clouds! An all day adventure; we were happily exhausted when we got back to Evergreen Lodge. Highly recommend.

It…read morehas the best ROI for views as there are constant changing views of Yosemite Valley and Yosemite Falls. The hike can be difficult at times as much of it is exposed to the sun, so I recommend going as early as possible. We also encountered rattlesnakes going up and coming back down, so it might be good to be cautious during the rocky middle section. Glacier Point at the end of the trail is absolutely beautiful. It has views of all of the major peaks around. There's also a store with cold drinks and snacks to fuel your way back down.

Because Glacier Point Road was closed for construction (all of 2022 unfortunately), there were only…read more3 ways to reach Glacier Point. All 3 are very strenuous and at least 9 miles round trip, but the 4-mile trail is the least intensive. However this is not stroll in the park. My mother and I (between beginner and intermediate in physical ability and hiking experience) hiked from 7am - 2pm round trip. It took us 3.5 hrs to reach Glacier point from the valley (4.6 miles), we spent about an hour at the top, then took another 2.5 hrs to hike down. We stopped often for pictures and short breaks. The views get better along the way, but it probably wasn't until 2 miles into the hike that they became more spectacular and we started taking photos. The trail itself is easy to follow, dry, and easy to descend. It has roughly 3 sets of switchbacks, the 1st which gets you roughly 2 miles in (start of nice views), the 2nd which takes you to Union point (3 miles in, has a descent panoramic view of valley), and the last set which brings you close to glacier point. There aren't really any easier parts of the trail, it's a constant ascent (3200 feet total). It is a tougher trail, but if you start early enough in the day, bring lots of water and snacks, and take breaks when needed, it is do-able. The views at the top make it all worth it!

You don't have to navigate traffic, you're driven by and given ample time off this small bus to see everything and take tons of photos, lunch and a fantastic history lesson. $220.00 per person. Pick up 7:05 am and dropped back off at 5:00 pm. Lunch is quite good. Sandwiches from Deli Delicious in Oakhurst. Lunch is taken in the middle of the park where you can sit and enjoy it, use the facilities, grab a Starbucks if needed and take a short walk over to one of the waterfalls. You're picked back up after an hour and 1/2 and this wonderful tour continues. You see loads of wildlife, more amazing waterfalls and this famous sites you've seen all over the place in pictures, movies, paintings, etc and if your lucky, so rock climbers on 1/2 Dome or El Capitan. Incredible scenery and so much to learn about this incredible place, the indigenous peoples and tribes that lived here and the incredible amount of history all in one day. Do yourself a favor and take the tour. Hopefully you'll get Grant. He's fun, is an excellent driver, has lots of bottled water and snacks, really takes care of his fares, knows an enormous amount of info from here and makes the tour really fun. There's so much to see and if you don't know where you're going, you can really get turned around and hung up in traffic.

Probably not my favorite lunch but definitely accommodates the majority and most enjoyed. We had lunch at glacier point and had about an hour to relax there. It was really nice having somebody do all the driving and the explaining. We were picked up from Tenaya Lodge at 7:30 and dropped off around 5 PM. We didn't know that we would have an opportunity to jump in the river Water at our last stop so I would suggest bringing a change of clothes or bathing suit and maybe even a blowup tube because it's worth the time. We would recommend this tour, but it is a long day and Marsha was cognizant to let us know that she was gonna allow us to rest on the way home. Worth the money.
