We found this trail on our last day in the area. We didn't want to drive back into Yosemite and the hotel staff told us we could find waterfalls here. Parking is available on site. The parking lot is small and not paved, but there are tress you can park under for shade. The trail is not very difficult, but I did walk it with two ladies that never exercise and they were struggling. They did have to stop several times to take a breather. The trail starts out flat, but then starts going uphill pretty quick. There are long stretches where there's no shade. Be prepared with water since there's nowhere to refill. We only made it to the smaller, first waterfall. We were able to sit with our feet in the water for a while. There wasn't many foot traffic. We probably saw a handful of people on the trail. Overall, I would recommend this trail. Just be prepared with sunblock, hat and water.

It can be a gorgeous trail in the fall, but October 2023 was not the right time. No foliage but bugs galore. Stick to the actual trail and not the endless spurs and shortcuts.

Beautiful bird song and gorgeous flowers! We highly recommend this easy hiking trail!

Took the family to this trail ages ranging from 3 to 40 the hike is just the right distance at 3.7 miles. There are some fallen trees to climb over and a couple steep parts but other wise a fairly easy trail definitely don't go by your self.

Lewis Creek Trail to Corlieu Falls

Straight down to the Corlieu Falls from parking lot. It's short but pretty steep at times. I went wearing my Teva sandals and that was probably not a very good idea. As of July 27,2023 , the narrow trail down to the falls is dry and slippery. But the plus side is water is going hard. Water is clear you can see the rocks on the bottom. The bridge to the Red Rock Falls is still down.

There are multiple beautiful waterfalls here. Shallow water very safe to take dips with adult supervision once you get to the water. Trail is decent but have some steeper points. Just beware of the drop offs. 2 parking spots. One next to 41 by the road easily accessible. One is south for of this. A mile down. If you want longer full hike. Hawaii vibes

Dog friendly (but be on the lookout for ticks)!

Beautiful, dog friendly hiking trail. The trail is well maintained and the incline is totally doable for beginners. Hiking boots are still recommended due to mud and snow. If you are bringing your pup, be sure to use tick treatment... there are TONS out there. Other than that, enjoy and take plenty of pictures.

Trail head off 41

This trail was beautiful and dog friendly. I started at the parking lot off of 41. There's a dirt parking lot and a sign telling you where to get on the trail. I have heard of at least two entrances to this trail, the one on 41 and the one off of Cedar Valley Dr. There is also another trail that dumps onto this one that someone told me you can enter at Tenaya Lodge but I have not confirmed that. The trail from 41 is pretty short but STEEP! My husband has a bad knee and it would be extremely difficult for him to get back up the trail to the car. If you are in pretty good shape, no problem. Very NOT stroller friendly. The trail off of Cedar Valley is longer but not as treacherous and is covered by a beautiful tree canopy so there is a lot of shade. The falls were well worth the hike and my pooch got to play in the water for a bit (after not being allowed on any of the trails in Yosemite we tried to hike). There were warning signs for mountain lions but we didn't see any. I would be cautious hiking alone on this trail though as there are not many other people on it. If anything happened, you could be alone there for a while. I look forward to coming back next spring when the water is funning more!

This was a really cool hike! I was worried because I went with my family (young siblings age 7 &9), and I wasn't sure if they would be able to handle it. THANKFULLY they loved it. It was very easy and we saw no mountain lions! The waterfall was also very pretty and the water was fresh to touch. 10/10 recommend if you're in the area. (It's an easy hike overall!) also, DO NOT USE THE YELP DIRECTIONS!!!! If you have the app maps from an IOS device use the directions from that app.

Great hike for all everyone. Amazing view and beautiful waterfall. The kids will love it or very romantic for a date, the choice is yours. Highly recommend this trail

Easy hike with beautiful views. A bit muddy when i went take some good shoes. Lots of dogs along the trail

As always, I recommend doing everything with caution. Our main goal was to get to the top of the waterfall? Underneath the waterfall? Wait. Lol There are different levels for the waterfall, so that gets a bit confusing. But we underneath the main waterfall. The water is nice and cold; clear. Follow the signs & all the advice below. Turn right ! Lol it wasn't too hard to find. The hike is reflectively short but it was a B coming back up. I wouldn't bring kids down to the falls because you are basically climbing down. There aren't any stairs. The second time I was there someone did add some ropes you can use to help get down.

You will park at a designated parking lot. The lot says you have to pay $10. There is an envelope and you write your license place number and name on it. It says to drop thr payment at a local store. I don't know if they check if you have paid or not. The trail head is not far from the parking lot. It will be to the left of you if you are facing away from the road. The trail is beautiful you start off along the river. You will hike along the trail for a short while then it dead ends and opens up to the road. You will cross the road and there is a sign that says trail, follow that trail. There is somewhat of a fork go to the left, you will cross a wooden "foot bridge". There is also a sign telling you to be careful on the slippery rocks. Then you follow the trail, it is easy to miss the turn off where the trail continues and goes up the mountain. At a point it goes up to the right and there will be another sign that says "trail". We missed it, and could not figure out where to go. Because the trail continues a long the river but then dead ends. We back tracked and realized there is another trail where we were supposed to turn and go up the mountain. It gets steep after you go up, but you get amazing views. It's worth the climb. This trail eventually dips back down and you are along the river again and get river access again.

This experience was definitely one for the books. We took a dip in the natural spring water which…read morewas quite COLD. I'd say this hike was medium to difficult, but we were able to get over rocks, stumps, and loose gravel with sneakers. The temperature and the time of day were just too much to bare and we stopped whenever we'd come across a small body of water. The water streams were quite peaceful. The wind brushing again the trees and birds chirping was just magical.

Miami Mountain Road

Miami Mountain Road: 4 Feb 2022…read more Location: Off Highway 41 Parking: Depending on how far you want to hike. You can either park at the entrance to Miami Mountain Road or drive further in. Description: The dirt road turns into partially paved road Distance: 4.78 Miles (you can go longer but we stopped due to sleek ice on the trail) Difficulty: Easy at the starting point but turned to moderate on our return trip History (taken from Sierra News): In the 1800's, old stage coaches used that trail as a short cut to Raymond. It was said that two men died and was buried on one plot across from each other. The two men - John Ruffin O'Neal and John Eldridge LaTouche were neighbours. Ruff ONeal: O'Neal's leg was pinned underneath a tree - it was pinned in such a way that he could not free himself. He was buried him where he was found. John LaTouche: LaTouche had a cabin near O'Neal. Loggers told him to leave his house where they were chopping down the trees. He owned the land and wouldn't leave. The loggers cut a huge tree which fell through the cabin and killed him. There was a large tree trunk that lay facing the gravesite - it may be possible that's the tree that struck LaTouche. We may never know. We first hiked Miami Mountain Road a month ago - after a heavy snowfall. The scenery around us was magnificent - white powder all around us. This could be a great place to snowshoe. Today, the place looked totally different from a month ago. The snow had melted - though splotches of snow can still be found. If you go around this time of the year, be aware of sleek ice. There are several trails - but we kept our hike to the left (6S14). About a mile from where we parked our car, to our right is the gravesite where the two men were buried. We continued down the trail but noticed signs posted to deter visitors. Braving ourselves, we continued a little further where several houses were situated on either side of the trail. The surrounding areas looked like something out of a horror movie - trees with roots struggling to entrap and pull you in... Perhaps John Ruffin O'Neal and John Eldridge LaTouche are continually stacking their claim on this land.

He is a self taught naturalist and gave us just the right mix of park history and insights into the floral and fauna. He also balanced our hiking so it was challenging enough to keep me interested but not to difficult that Thelma could not enjoy it as well. He was also terrific about assisting her through some of the more difficult and rocky sections so she was never uncomfortable.
