Yopp's Tire and Garage is the best local mom and pop store you can bring your car into that probably won't cost much to do any type of work you can think of. We've been in the area for a year and some months now. Have always been going there for any regular maintenance like oil change and tire rotation. Lately needed to do some 100k maintenance and even work on an issue that I found to be something Subaru vehicles like to have. They fixed it and even recommended how to do the services. this review is not to say that they did not do good work, because they simply put air in my mother's tire, and it was done very quickly, and the gentleman who did it was respectful and professional. However, when my mother asked a gentleman working at the desk how much it would cost for a synthetic oil change on your vehicle, he was extremely rude and condescending. He stated that she should have known the size of her engine before even asking, and then once another gentleman went out to find the size of the engine he stated this type of engine will only take synthetic oil change so you shouldn't have even asked for a synthetic oil change that's just the only option, which the statement made no sense in itself, but he was just trying to be an asshole. My mother was highly offended by being talk to this way, especially because she did nothing wrong. It was simply there as a customer. read more

Moved here in January from a small town, only ever took my car to the local car shop back home for 3 years. I was nervous to come to a new place and joked that I would make the 8 hr drive back home if something was ever needed for my car lol. Anyway I came here a few months ago for a regular oil change. No issues. Today, I called around 8am because my car was hesitating to start up for the past week, was able to come in a few hrs later to have someone listen but on the phone they said they probably wouldn't be able to do anything about it today. Got there, car was listened to and I had a new battery all within less than 30 mins. Car sounds great now!! My wife brought her car in for brakes making an unusual noise (2006 Ford Focus). They put her car in the air and replaced almost every component of the front brake system. They din't even check the rear brakes. The noise did not go away. She brought the car back and was told the brake pas were defective and changed them again. The noise did not go away. The noise persisted so she brought the car to a shop in J-ville. The rear brakes had never been changed on her used car and they were the cause of the noise ! The rear brake pads and components were changed, and the noise went away. Recently she brought the same car in to replace a headlight bulb. The bulb was changed, but burned out the next day. Yopps changed the bulb again, and it burned out again the next day ! She took the car to Sanders Ford and was told the socket that received the bulb was corroded and needed to be replaced. The mechanic said you could see the corrosion with just a flashlight. The socket was changed,..headlights work ! This is not the same Yopps Garage it was 35 years ago ! It seems they hire people (graduates or non) with no experience. If a light doesn't work, the question to ask,..is it getting power? An experienced mechanic would know this. I was a mechanic for 21 years in the USMC, 2 1/2 years for John Deere (forestry), and 17 years for a nation wide equipment rental company. Hiring high school drop-outs isn't going to help your reputation. ! In my opinion, you should look some where else for your automotive repairs ! My wife and I will not go there again. read more

I've only had great experiences here. Brought in a few cars on a whim, called beforehand, and had them take care of everything as quickly as needed. Donated a set of Jeep tires to one of the mechanics. It's one of those home style places you know you can reason with and rely on when needed most. read more

I always thought that if it's not an official auto shop you won't get a good service. But this place is a gem in sneads ferry, they are honest and cheaper compared to the regular auto shop in Jacksonville with the same amount of result and faster booking. I changed my shop because how fast they worked on my car and how convenient their location is. Took truck to get transmission gasket fixed 8months ago. Started leaking again so took it back. Then told my dip stick casing had been siliconed on to transmission case and was told I did it. They were the last people who messed with transmission. Don't be surprised if you have more problems then original if you use them! read more

After noticing our tire was losing air after the long drive from Central New York to North Topsail Beach, we called Yopp's. We were told to come on over. We were greeted with friendly service and told that one car was ahead of us. We sat in the comfortable and clean waiting room. Soon we were shown the nail that was causing the trouble in our tire and were told that the hole was plugged. We were not over charged either! My daughter lives in Sneeds Ferry with her husband who is in the Marines and their 2 year old daughter. Today I received a phone call from her she was in tears I couldn't understand her, finally she got herself together and told me what happened she was at Yopp's in Sneeds Ferry getting her oil changed like she has many times before. Her daughter was with her and she was being a typical 2 year old not being sassy but let out little squeals every now and then the owner told my daughter to take her outside that he can't take it anymore. Tammy went outside with her daughter in the rain she called her husband when he got out of work to come pick their daughter up, when she went to pay for the oil change the owner told her to find another place of business next time. It's not easy for her to find a babysitter being a military wife and away from family. I think it's so sad and so wrong for my daughter to be treated that way after all they help him make a living!!! read more
