Very friendly place. Good service is hard to come by it seems these days buy the value for service and the smiles when you hit the door is amazing. Always outstanding and professional service! I guess I have to write more but tires are tires and you can buy good ones and bad ones anyplace. It's the people that make the difference. Discount Tire seems to have their processes figured out. The inside staff are fast but helpful even when you want to do some upgrades or add fancy wheels and change tire sizes (which I have done a few times). The technical crew doing the work seem focused and not messing around and you can tell safety training has been important and is instilled into the team. Even when I drop in for just air and want something other than the door sticker they are accommodating but ensure I know what I'm asking for. This time I was hauling a heavy load for a long distance across several weeks and wanted some extra air but was unsure of what I needed. They came out and of course, checked the sticker, which is the factory defaults but no longer went with my upgraded wheels and tires both non-standard sizes). I gave them my weigh estimate and my best guess and they did a few calculations and came up with nearly the same number I did (I was off by one pound of their recommendation). Taking the time to do things like come out to your vehicle and look at your situation is par for the coarse here. And I really appreciate the extra effort. read more

I went to discount tire to buy 2 tires as I failed inspection. Christopher found the tires I needed quickly, I purchased them and told him I needed to be out in an hour to pick up my son. Then we realized that the wheel lock key was not on my car. Lloyd and Christopher were very patient and helpful in helping me look for the wheel lock and just really kind as I felt foolish for not having the wheel lock key. They gave me guidance on how to get a new key and ended up refunding me as we couldn't do the service. They were very accommodating, and I would say family friendly as I had my 1 yo and 10yo (we went to the park at Sonic next door. Christopher physically came out to get us). Last Tuesday I took my 2017 Corvette Grand Sport to Discount Tire in Jacksonville to have a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport installed. I was there for a couple hours as the technicians experienced some difficulty installing on a set of rims that I had power coated. During my stay I was briefed about every 15-20 minutes about the progress and in the final hour got to watch them conduct a four wheel alignment. I was treated extremely well and in the end, could not be happier. What I came to realize was that they did not treat me special as it was the same way they interacted with each customer. It is a well-oiled operation where management is as involved as the technicians. They also have an area where one can pull in to have tire pressure adjusted. I happened upon them because they are the only ones in the area that does Road Force Balancing which is free with the purchase of tires. And let me add that their showroom is spotless with an area where you can view the work being done on your vehicle. Stop in and look...you will be impressed! read more

I have been a long time customer of Discount Tire if J-Ville NC. I came in and asked what was the wait time for a tire rotation and balance. It was well over one and a half hour wait. I opted to make an appointment for the following morning at 9:30. I showed up 5mins early to my appointment. By 10:20 my car still has not been brought in for service. Funny how my emialed invoice says 9:29am but my texts say 9:35-9:55 work performed. Never have I ever had this kind of poor customer service! I also questioned the clerk about the work at 10am and he said I would be next... that didn't happen as we saw multiple cars pulled in before us. What BS! read more

I went in to get 4 tires switched from my factory wheels to some aftermarket wheels I had purchased online. Chris at the front desk was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I kept receiving text updates about the progress of my vehicle. I left but came back early. Adam (the technician doing all the work) came out and personally informed me on why it was taking a little longer than anticipated. I didn't get his assistants name but she also did a phenomenal job and even wiped the wheels and applied a tire shine. The company has a fantastic system. I purchased my tires in a different state, CA, and they were able to pull up my information in NC. The tech advised me that my tires were still in great condition and that I didn't need to replace them. That was important since I was sure I needed new tires since I drove across the country, and I have also been to other places since I purchased said tires. I'm very skeptical about tire businesses since I live in a military town and most people take advantage of us. From the second I met Robert, there was absolutely no doubt that he had ONLY my best interests in mind. Wonderful! Excellent service and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable employees. I needed 2 tires replaced on my vehicle and was given several options to accommodate my preferences. Prices were reasonable and competitive with other shops in the area. I also purchased the insurance and was informed of the warranty available on my tires. Spent about $340 and was in and out within an hour. These guys are fast! Very clean and comfortable waiting area, as well. Discount Tire as a whole has been great to work with over the years that I've been going to them for my tire needs. I've got 38x15.5R20 tires. They weigh around 120 a piece mounted, and I have 5 balanced and rotated routinely. I know they're a PITA to deal with, but the staff is always accommodating. I waited almost 4 hours just to have my car serviced. I still waited after the shop was closed I saw multiple cars that arrived after me leave before me. My car was the last car yo be touched. I initially purchased tires off the website to be delivered to this location. Online it clearly stated the tires were OEM and would take 3-5 business days to be delivered. finally received them about 2 weeks later. Scheduled an appt for wife to have them installed 2 days later. When she arrived she was informed tires were the wrongs size for her vehicle. I spoke to the sales person and another set had to be ordered. I will say they did us a huge favor and put 2 plugs in a tire she had 2 screw in (and did not charge her. fast forward to today almost a week and a half after other tires were ordered she had an appt at 1030 am to have tires installed. She arrived early to get checked in. she sat and waited and hour and 20 minutes after scheduled appt before they ever too car in to do tires. Finally after 2 hours beyond her appt tires were done. The reason i am writing this review is if you have an appt system you need to follow it. Do not make a customer schedule and appt then sit waiting for 2 hours after scheduled time to get tires installed. read more

Any time you have a flat tire and are going to need to spend a lot of money, you're not going to be in a great mood and the staff here seem to understand that and do and amazing job of making sure you leave in a better mood. Great customer service. The maintenance is done with care as if it were there own vehicle. I noticed small details from being in the store watching the technicians through the service bay window that you don't see often in other shops. Corrosion is cleaned with a wire wheel from the faying surface before reinstallation of the tire. A vehicle next to mine in the bay getting new tires, the technician finish install the tires then applied tire dressing to the tire. These are just small details you don't get at any other tire shop. My car needed all 4 tires replaced I decided to do the sensors as well. We called and ordered the tires on Monday the tires were in store by the next day. We made a trip to the tire center to get everything replaced. We pulled right up, they helped us immediately and the car was finished within 45 min. They were so fast, helpful and friendly. I was having issues with my spare sensor and they resolved the issue swiftly and effectively. Awesome place! Eric, Chris and Alex were the people assisting us. Went to get service for TPMS light that was indicating a system failure. They told me my local garage did not perform the proper initialization after two pressure transmitters were replaced. They tested all tires, including the spare and redid a proper initialization. Problem fixed! They would not charge me for the service. I then priced a set of 4 Michelin Defender tires. They were cheaper than Costco. These guys are great. By the way, my technician that did the work was a young women, and she knew her stuff. I will be recommending this place to my friends. read more

This place is a blessing. The dealership i got my car from was going to charge me $40 to patch my tire so I started calling around to get other quotes. I was shocked when this place said they do it for FREE. I couldn't believe it. This place does all tire maintenance FOR FREE (balancing, patching, rotation).
