Scammers! Beware of this place, I was out of town when my sister needed an annual inspection. She failed for a horn issue and was told she needed $160 for a diagnostic, then to order a part and everything was going to cost her 600-100 additional $ with labor. When she asked for how they diagnosed the issue they would not give her details. I get it checked the next day and the only issue was a missing fuse! Not broken, missing completely. Not only that, there was a spare fuse in the box! It was a 2 second fix and they obviously wanted to take advantage of a woman trying to get her car registered. She goes in here the next day and it's immediately excuses - a master mechanic checked it, that can't be, I wasn't in that day, I'm so sorry, I'll issue a refund. Fast forward a couple days and they dont refund what they agreed to, back to the shop to waste time again. Corporate said no our hands are tied. I dont do reviews and Karen shenanigans but if you arent 100% what you want done and what the issue is, I would not take my car here. If I turn one person away from being scammed, I'll be happy. read more

My wife's tire was flat and she went to this place to get it patched after putting on spare tire. The service rep said it was unrepairable and tired to upsell new tire or most likely tire set to my wife. She went to Mavis across the street and they confirmed it was a valve stem and replaced it for free. Absolutely do not recommend seems like they try to take advantage of people. I purchased a Groupon for a synthetic oil change and 5 qts. My husband took the printed off Groupon (instructions said you could do that) and the employee would not honor it even though it said synthetic oil blend on the Groupon in plain sight. The manger Justin was not in so I spoke with Jose and he said he didn't service the vehicle and when I said that the staff refused the Groupon for synthetic blend he said he would "credit" me for the next oil change. BAIT AND SWITCH BEWARE!!! A $30 Groupon ended up being $112 oil change. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT go here unless you want to get ripped of. read more

They told me I needed tires and they used the tool that shows that your tires need to be replaced but I didn't even have the car for a year and only 20,000 miles on it so I got tricked into replacing all the tires and owing $600. I was told by my brother-in-law, my son, other people that I got taken for a ride. I'll never go back there again.! read more

I called in for an oil change, asked to schedule it but they said no need just come in. I was in a bit of rush so getting this oil change done fast was important. I got there 30 minutes after the call was over, walked into the place and was told by the receptionist at the front that he'd be right with me. He walked into the backroom for about 10 minutes, came back and then a took phone call. I had taken a seat, he knows I took a seat he made eye contact with me several times while he was one the phone, and still did not call me up to begin the paperwork to get a simple oil change. One guy and then another lady proceeded to walk in without appointments asking to get tire rotations and electrical work done and he proceeded to help them first and completely disregarded me. It was infuriating and humiliating. I will never return to this location. They are also extremely overpriced and predatory. read more

This place is a joke, my car went in for an alignment and mount and balance of 4 new tires. It's not aligned correctly. My tires were not balanced correctly. They couldn't give me an alignment print out because "the printers broken" which is actually because they only aligned the front wheels when I requested a 4 wheel alignment. They refuse to refund me and corporate threatened me with "if you dispute the charge we'll have our manager get his money any way he can" AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

I called this place 3 times this morning no answers. Went in about 30 min later to get an Oil change with my ole lady. They told her that the cheapest oil change is $69.72 While I told him that it said online the cheapest right now is $39.99 the gentleman at the front counter said that's for conventional oil change which her car can't take. But I told him that it states synthetic blend. He didn't change the the price and charged $69.72 he gave attitude and scoffed at us when we stated that we didn't want their courtesy 32pt inspection or their tire rotation. Which we didn't want because of previous reviews of them screwing with peoples vehicles and making it dangerous to be on the road with the family in the car just so they can make some extra money. I would not recommend this shop but we needed the oil change since it was past due. Or I would've taken my business elsewhere. read more

They should have called us so we did not gave to waste our time and fuel. After a phonecard to the manager he offered a 10% military discount which we already receive. Brought my van in for shocks n struts. they called me later saying I needed brake pads. I said ok. wipers also. They ended up charging me $600.00 for work I never authorized or asked for. This is a long over due review, but these guys deserve all the five stars. Fast, Proficient, extremely well priced, and as knowledgeable as they come. Awesome group of dudes, all of them! I brought my 99 Grand Cherokee to them to get more suspension work finished. When I got there to pick it up they had told me they missed a part and ended up replacing it for FREE! I'll spend good money for good service but these guys did an amazing job and saved me about $500.00. Couldn't say it enough, I'll go no where else for automotive work. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! The people at Mr tire are very professional and helpful. I had them do a coolant flush on my 2010 Silverado. It was still having some overheating issues once they were done and rather than guess and tell me want parts they wanted to throw at it, Chris was very honest and said he recommended I take it to the dealership to get it diagnosed he also didn't charge me a cent even though he had spent a decent amount of his time trying to figure out the issue. Avoid the Jacksonville, NC store at all cost. Dropped my truck off in the morning as I had an appointment to have my four existing tires removed and mounted on new wheels, which I had purchased and provided to them, along with new TPMS sensors and balancing. I left to run a few errands and returned two hours later to find the truck still on the lift and not finished. The manager then informed me that one of the wheels had rim damage. I had inspected all the wheels thoroughly upon receipt and before re-boxing them and and there was absolutely no damage to any of them when they were dropped off to Mr. Tire with the truck. I informed the Manager of this, but he didn't seem to care. He just kept asking me if these were "remanufactured wheels" which they were not. Either the person changing the tires damaged the wheel and then lied to the manager about it, which I suspect is the case, or the Manager lied to cover up their mistake. They had my cell number, but never tried calling to tell me the rim was damaged before installing it on the truck and waiting for me to return. Once installed the wheel was not returnable to where I bought it even though Mr. Tire is the one who damaged it during the install process. Look elsewhere! read more

These guys are freaking amazing. Regardless of whether you are calling their shop or talking to them in person, they are incredibly pleasant and respectful. They treat you like family, or an old good friend. They are straightforward and everyone there is very knowledgeable. Because their popularity is quickly growing for numerous reasons, I would call them to book an appointment if you need a service, but if you end up walking in to get a service, they are still very quick! Took my car to another place and they were giving me the run around. Told me I needed an alignment and my tires were wearing when I JUST got an alignment and 4 new tires a month ago. I ended up needing a brand new wheel bearing. They even said it was still okay to drive bc I needed to go to New Bern the next day. Called this place and they got me RIGHT IN on a very busy Sunday. Checked everything out, showed me how big of a safety issue it was, and had it done in just a few hours. Will always recommend this place and always come back whenever I need something!! read more

-MR. TIRE IS UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT- I visited this auto center to get my brakes inspected, for a quote, in hopes to get them replaced. My first impressions noted that everyone there was super friendly, welcoming, and caring. The older reviews for this company are no longer accurate. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by Kevin, the front desk person. He helped me out right away and set me up with a mechanic (Larry) who test drove my car to listen to my brakes. Within this process, they make it an effort to show you what's wrong with you car after they inspect it. While most places just take your car to the back and come out to you with a huge price to pay. (Their brake inspections are free by the way!) Larry took me to where my car was in their garage and educated me on the different parts that needed to be replaced, as well as what each part of the brake does. It was the first time I had ever seen my car beneath its tires. Kevin then came out to me with a rough quote of the whole brake replacement and it was comparable to the few other places I checked out. It wasn't much cheaper, but he mentioned that they will try their best to meet or beat their competitor prices. If I were to have agreed to have them do the replacements for me, they were ready for it. They had the parts and mechanics and I would have only needed to wait a few hours and I'd leave with new brakes - which is very convenient. No separate appointment needed. I ended up going to a dealership to take care of my brakes because I also needed a 100,000 tune-up. But for smaller jobs, I will probably end up taking my car to Mr. Tires. They're a very nice, quality staff and you can tell they want to develop a relationship with their customers. read more

Not only did they find that my lug nuts had been cross threaded from the last rotation, at NTB Tire, they replaced them and scheduled a time for me to get them checked to ensure my safety! They provide a military discount and are very helpful and kind. Not pushy and provide honest service and upfront quotes and answers. Many of my fellow Marines who are also Aircraft Mechs recommended Mr. Tire of Jacksonville to me....so they know a little bit about mechanical things but since all our time is dedicated at work they use the limited time with family to send their vehicles here. I elected to do the same and I was happy with the work and they not only got the work done faster than anticipated but also were under the price and gave a discount. Highly recommend 10/10. We took our car in to get the ac checked when it stopped blowing out cold air right after getting my oil changed at the dealership. The guy that helped us was very nice and professional. He was upfront with everything cost wise so when we picked up my car and paid there were no surprises with how much we were paying. Not only did he fix my ac but he said if I felt like it wasn't getting cold again to take it back in and he'd take care of it. Being from another state its hard to know which places you can trust to work on your car since some places only seem to cause more problems but Mr. Tire is definitely our go whenever we need our cars worked on. Yesterday, (11-13-17) as we were leaving our hotel to return home to Pennsylvania, I noticed my rear tire was very low and would need to get air before we could go far. Lucky for us , a Mr. Tire store was just down the street, l pulled in and asked Brian, the manager, if they had time to fix a flat. With no hesitation, he asked one of his workers to fix the flat, twenty minutes later we were on our way for an 8 hr ride home. This is a poorly run shop. I brought my car in for a break inspection and they failed to tell me that there was an issue with my rotors being warped. They also managed to mis-quote me on a price and refused to give me the price that was agreed on. They falsely advertise their prices and will not offer their best deal even if it's advertised on the front of their business. read more

I have been bringing my cars in the past to be serviced at Mr. Tire and at the time it was known as Munro muffler and never had any issues. Always superb service and they would go above & beyond for my mother and I as she would bring her vehicles as well. Initially on my way out I left a great review. I bought my car in for an inspection in November; I also told them while they were doing the inspection to please take a look because my car was making a rattling noise. I was told, "I will take a look at it." I was waiting outside and I believe he was the manager came and told me I would need an alignment and that would make the noise stop. Thinking to myself I'm not one that knows much about cars but I don't feel an alignment is going to stop the rattling noise under my hood, but nonetheless I proceeded to tell him to go ahead with the alignment. My $70 inspection turned into about $250. Needless to say as soon as I left Mr. Tire I heard the rattling once again and about two weeks after the inspection and alignment my car pulls to the left. Needless to say within the next week or so I'll be getting another alignment from the dealership and have them actually drive the car to see what the noise is and actually care to fix it. I will not bring my car back or recommend their services any longer. read more

My experience was good the staff was friendly and happy to answer any questions. They didnt add anything extra or try to push any extra services that you didnt ask for. Listening to phone calls whole in the lobby let me know these guys are honest. They would talk to callers and educate them on services they asked for and tried to get the bestbpricesnfoe them. They even honestly told one individyal he would come out cheaper going somewhere else. I like that kind of up front honestness. They also do work on high end cars i.e. mercedes, BMW's, etc. Which saves me time and money not having to drive to the mercedes dealer in wilmington. Which is an addded bonus. Im not sure about anyone else but my ezperience was great and I will definitely be coming back. read more

After being told by a different shop, we had a screw in our tire and they did not have enough time to do it - we turned here. Late on a Saturday afternoon, they took our car in without hesitation when everyone else was closed. We are back on the road and will definitely go back to the friendly, informative people here. We took our truck in to get a normal oil change. That's it. We just got new tires at a different dealership in that same week and they were perfectly fine. In all the times I have changed my cars oil, I've never once touched the tires. When we got our truck back, we drove it home and it was shaking. We called and they told us they did a realignment on the truck and filled up the tires. Which was absolutely unnecessary. We then had to take our truck back so they could fix it. And we were told it would be a $75 charge for ANOTHER realignment. We took it back to the place we originally got the tires to have them fixed and were told that they over filled out tires and none of the lug nuts were tight at all and they were actually surprised we made it there without any problems read more

I'm only giving this place 1 star because 0 stars is not an option. We relocated from Chicago last week. Upon arriving, we needed 2 new front tires because our alignment was off, and my tires were worn from the cross country drive. We received good price, good service. 7 days later, my engine was shaking, and I knew I had a misfire in one of the cylinders.. We took our truck to Mr Tire, where it was confirmed the #3 cylinder was misfiring. We were told we needed new spark plugs. Now the expedition 5.4L is a pain to change the plugs, and takes about 3 hours... We know.. We've actually done it ourselves in the past! The manager comes out and tells us that he would have to charge us for 7-10 hours of labor(total $960) because our engine is 'the one that you have to take everything apart to get to the plugs' (news flash... That's any EXPY). We said no, left, drove down the road and got our plugs, boots, and ignition coil changed in 2 hours 40 minutes for $413. These people are scammy.. And filthy liars! I have no idea what the heck they planned to do with my truck for the remaining hours they were going to charge me for, but good tire price or not, Mr Tire will NEVER get money from my wallet again read more

I took one of my cars to Jiffy Lube for my required inspection.., no problem 15 minutes I was out. Made the mistake of taking my second car to Mr. Tire. After waiting 45 minutes and seeing my car sitting in the bay, I asked one of the "gentlemen" when they'd be getting to my car because I had to get back to work, to which I was told the "boss" would be getting to it soon. (The "boss" Steve had been telling a fish story to another customer in front of me in the waiting room). Five minutes after plugging my 2013 vehicle into a machine, the "boss" walked around to charge me the required 30 dollars for the inspection. Enough said? Don't go to Mr. Tire for an inspection that only takes Jiffy Lube 15 minutes to do. read more

We came here to get a tire plugged as a result of being unable to get helped at another business and these guys were great! Even though they weren't able to get to it right away they told us that up front and gave us a very reasonable timeframe in which they could. We left to go get something to eat and when we came back to get the tire they even offered to put the tire back on the vehicle for us! read more
