Amazing food, amazing vibe, great customer service. I was impressed by how much the Management checked on us to make sure we were okay. I believe the restaurant is Ivorian and I imagine Yop City is derived from Yopougon in Ivory Coast. Waitress was very polite and made things happen quickly despite a busy night. Everything we tried was amazing as the other reviews have already mentioned. Sundays there is a DJ so its a different vibe and a bit of a wait so if you want a little quieter atmospehere maybe go on a weekday. I'm definitely going back for the leg of lamb and chicken. Also, the portions are HUGE a couple people can definitely share an order or two. Congrats to this establishment for setting the bar high.

Huge fish, more than enough for two. It is cut in a way that is not too hard to take off the bone. I like the veggie that comes with it; it tastes really good. The sauce is super spicy. Food comes out kinda slow.

WOW! Is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Yopcity. Named after a neighborhood in Abidjan called "Yopougon", Yopcity truly takes you back to life in Ivory Coast and immerses you in a West African culinary experience that very few places can replicate. I absolutely adore French West African cuisine and my favorite place to get it (other than homemade or back home) is in NYC. The best spots are usually in Harlem or the Bronx. Yopcity gained a lot of attraction on TikTok as the hottest new African restaurant in the Bronx so I had to check it out. I've been here twice and both times were absolutely amazing although the portion sizes seemed larger the first time. The ambience is so up scale making it the perfect place for a birthday dinner or Friday night out in the city with friends. The decor is BREATHTAKING (even the decor in the bathroom), and they have live music on some nights. The staff is super friendly and attentive despite how busy it is which is something that you don't always see in NYC. And the food.... 10/10! I only wish that there were more things on the menu! They have a "Soup of the day" that changes often but other than that there are only around 4 main entrees that you can get every day. That being said, the food is extremely tasty, well seasoned, and tastes so authentic. Both times here we got the poisson braise, attieke, plantains, lamb dibi and the ginger and sorrel drinks. My only complaint is that the drinks were way too sweet. The rest of the food was amazing. My friend got the fried fish and really loved it. I will most definitely be back and I'm excited to see if they add anything else to the menu!

Good Ivorian food, good service, really pretty restaurant, and fire Ivorian/francophone playlist. Restaurant is delicious and good vibes. Dibi was really good, Braisse could've been a bit better, loci was perfect and so was the sorrel

Absolutely delicious! My soon to be father in law gave me cook book of west african cuisine, so I've been going ham rediscovering where I came from. So imagine my surprise when I'm driving down little Italy and I see yopcity standing out amongst the rest of the pack. Let me tell you... this place is not playing around. The lamb was amazing, the flavor was so unique and robust and the portion sizes are wild! That's what I'm talking about! If you're looking for an authentic place, where the quantity of the food matches the quality of the meal, give this place a shot!

First time and it did not disappoint! Great atmosphere & customer service. Food was seasoned well and came out hot (bonus for me-I don't like cold food). The chicken was flavorful and juicy! I tried the tuna- delicious, plantains-hot, crispy, & good! I also had the lamb shank and talk about flavorful & tender! Overall an amazing experience and will definitely return!

Can't even begin to describe my experience at yopcity restaurant. From the food to the music to the service everything was a 10/10. If you are looking for authentic Ivorian food in NYC this is the place to go. The Garba was chef's kiss, the lamb so succulent, the plantains just right, the chicken juicy. Every item I had was memorable. Portions were great as well, more than enough to share or eat alone. Can't wait to return again.

Adom African Cuisine - Peanut Soup with Fufu Jollof Rice with Waakye

What started as a…read moresimple dinner turned into something truly special--an evening filled with amazing food, genuine hospitality, and a real sense of family. We had the chance to spend time with the beautiful family behind the restaurant--David (the owner), his incredible wife (who we lovingly called "Mom"), and their daughter Kendra. Every single one of them was warm, welcoming, and full of kindness. Earlier that day, I was blessed to meet their daughter Priscilla, who highly recommended we stop by and try her mother's authentic Ghanaian cooking. She told me her mom's food appeals to everyone--and she was absolutely right. We came during a special event sponsored by Puma, where meals were being covered between 4pm and 7pm. Even with that generosity, my wife and I still chose to order and pay for additional items because we wanted the full experience--and we're so glad we did. We ordered fufu with palm nut soup and beef, Ghana's spicy jollof rice, along with krakro, fried shrimp, rice balls, jerk chicken, peanut soup, and spring rolls--and everything was incredible. The flavors were rich, authentic, and made with love. Ghanaian food has a unique spice to it--it's not overpowering like extreme heat, but more of a flavorful kick that comes and goes. It's something you just have to experience for yourself. The space itself may be small, but the love it holds is HUGE. You can feel it in every interaction and every bite of food. If you're ever in the Bronx, just off I-95 near the iconic Arthur Ave, do yourself a favor and stop by Adom Cuisine. Whether you dine in or take out, you can easily enjoy a full, satisfying meal for around $20-$30. This place isn't just a restaurant--it's a home away from home.

Jollof rice with Waakye was also spicy with great flavor. The chicken is bone-in which gives it a lovely flavor. Also good amount of food for price. Overall great meals! Would eat again! 4 stars for flavor and spice! Minus 1 star for pricey meals.
