Very nice place and food was also good. The waitress was also very nice and that night just so happened to be her first day on the job.

The egusi is great and fufu. But can someone explain why the meat is so tough??? The fish has a lot of bones, cow foot which is usually pretty tender and chewy type of meat (gelatin like) is like unusually tough. Is this a preference on cuisine cooking or am I just enduring tough meat and a bad chef? But the soup itself is delicious with a nice spice. read more

They messed up my order and there is no spinach in the agusi.....also they choose what protein you get no matter your request read more

The owners were very thoughtful, kind and accommodating to me and my partner. We came to visit this restaurant for a first time around and 12p. The head chef was walking through the restaurant and told us that he was grilling the jerk chicken on a barbecue out back. "Lots of restaurants will sell you their jerk chicken but will actually prepare it in the oven instead of over a fire grill--the way jerk chicken is supposed to be made," he said. "We make all our jerk chicken fresh and over the wood fired grill we have going out back." read more

Good food. My wife and I enjoyed our meal when we visited. The lady tilling the counter was friendly, the tilapia was great, the banku could use some improvement, but overall we had a good time. read more

I really enjoy that the food you receive here is consistent. The menus has less than 30 items so it's very to mess up and I appreciate that. This location is better than the location on white plains road. It's larger and the staff is much nicer. I would recommend they invest in decor as it's really feels like a grab and go. It is better now that they have the outdoor dining. Food taste 4 star Food portion 5 star Decor 2 star Staff 3 star All around experience 3 star read more

The inside is nice and clean. The food was delicious, not too spicy but not at all bland. We ordered their fufu with egusi and the flavor was impeccable. The egusi soup was impeccable, and paired well with the fufu. read more

Great Ghanaian food; I traveled from Queens to get some amazing food! I enjoyed the okra stew and the fish. Tasty!

I visited this restaurant last week Friday after suffering from a weeklong craving for jollof rice. A few of my West African friends said they tried it and it was pretty good. I ordered the jollof with beef and plantain. I enjoyed my meal for the most part. I just think the chef is a little heavy handed with the oil. Overall nice flavors. This is a cute place to stop in a grab a bite. We chose to dine downstairs where they had nice music playing and a full bar. I prefer the vibe downstairs. The customer service was good. Just a heads up. This is a cash only establishment. They do have a atm in the front and there is a chase bank across the street. I can see myself revisiting this place. read more

First time trying authentic African food and was very impressed by their flavors! Ordered lamb stew and fried fish and gosh it was great! As a first time comer, the owner was also kind enough to introduce all the foods for us and gave us great recommendations! I have to say though, their portion size is so generous that we took the leftover back home and took three meals to finish!! read more

First time trying African food, great experience. Wanted to try a traditional dish and was recommended the fufu, and it was delicious! A community oriented restaurant, good music, down to earth staff and friendly regulars. Will definitely return to try more food read more

Terrible food and service. I don't go here regularly but the last two times I went within a span of about 2 months, the food has been pretty nasty. I believe they changed owners these past few months and the new owners are definitely lacking. I usually order the basics, jollof rice or rice and stew. Jollof rice is hard and super oily. Not much flavor to it. Stew is the same, not much flavor just oil. They need to do better as they are on of the African restaurant in the area. read more

My experience there was horrible some young lady came from outside asking her Auntie was she ok & my look was why wouldn't she be I'm here to eat not fight The food was peppered down the lamb was tough and they were very rude the establishment was dark and dirty West Africans really have a problem with African Americans I could go on and on and on they were just RUDE & I'm giving them one star because I made it out of that dump safe read more

I wasn't amazed with the food at all. I usually go to Accra .. I think that's how you spell it.. on Burnside Ave and to me, there's no comparison. I didn't like how the pasta and rice and beans tasted; as though it was over cooked and the meat was extremely tough; both the chicken and the beef. I will say that the young woman they have working the counter was incredible. She handled my ignorance of African cuisine with grace and even went above and beyond for me by checking inventory for my drink. She didn't treat me unprofessionally even though I was on the phone with my job while I spoke with her. This review is mostly for her because I definitely won't have the food again. read more

Great spice and flavor to my okra stew, they have everything you ask for available, they provide fast service nothing longer then 15 minutes. I am ordering today. read more

Food is hard and cold and not worth the money at all There was no effort put into the food and I used the africandish app to order my food and the minimum was $15 ...plus $5 delivery fee plus tip...not worth it at all.!! read more

I am soooooo disappointed, sad and am even crying, I spent a total of $60 and yet the food tasted sooo extremely bad, I vomited on one taste. I threw away everything I bought cos my system was irritated. I will never forget this resturant as long as they don't change thier name! The is the worse of all restaurants. read more

Selassie at the register Is cool as hell! He gives the type of service that makes u actually want to be friends with him. The food is good as well. The egusi and banku is amazing. The okro soup is good. The jollof is not bad, but not my favorite. It's cash only but they have an atm inside. Downstairs has more places to sit. Overall I recommend it. Selassie was really helpful with providing recommendations and explains which things pair well with each other as well. read more

The man that works in the restaurant was very rude to me over the phone just because I was trying to find out why my order was canceled. You have to order from Africandishout.com and it was easy until it canceled my order after 30min of waiting. It said canceled by business but when I called the guy said I had to called the website talking about some " I'm not going to stay on the phone with you for 1min, I have other things to do then try to explain this stuff to you". We later went up to the restaurant and he apologized to me and was shocked that I was white and gave me a drink on the house. The food was alright. It was Ghanaian African food and I'm Yoruba so some of the flavors were a miss for me personally. I did like the fried yam, plantain(very soft though)and fish very good flavor and stew. The fufu was too soft and didn't really taste like anything(flavorless) the spinach stew was very good and came with a lot of meat which was nice for the price. I ate my full but will probably never order from here again because it was just overall not that great of an experience. read more

Hands down my favorite African ( Ghanaian) Resturant in the Bronx. Compared to the ones I've gone to.. I enjoy their service and friendly atmosphere. I've been here more than many times and have not had complaints in terms of food or even my stomach turning whatsoever! Highly recommended... if you're a newbie and don't know what to get I'd say get the waakye. My favorite thing on the menu. Big plate for $10! There nothing better than that! read more

Welp...I was Praying the Food was going to be Outstanding considering when I walked in the empty restaurant at 1 pm on a Saturday afternoon and Greeted the "Counter Person" with a Warm "Good Afternoon", she responded "What Do You Want?". But Nope! Prayers went unanswered. The taste of the Food Matched her Energy... Tough...No Taste...And a Whole Lot of Nothing! The Goat meat was Seasoned well if you dipped it waaaay down in the Container past all the Oil. But it was tough!... like Pitbull pulling on that Rope Tough! The Jolloff rice tasted like regular Seasoned rice and the Pepper Sauce tasted like Dirty Cat Litter Smells. The Fufu... well... that was the best part and it had no taste because it's not supposed to. Nevertheless... I was Hungry so I ate Some of it. I'm typing as I am trying to digest it all and boy is my Stomach not so Happy. Would I revisit Mama G's again... ?Nah, I'm Good. But have at it... you may feel Differently. read more
