The owner aka the chef has runned this small, sweet izakaya for over 30 years and always cooks everything himself. You will no longer let the salty and dead-sweet whatever-it-is sauce to jeopardize your appetite again. Apparently, they had experimented with making noodles using locally-available ingredients. What an idea. This might have made the noodles more substantial and made me full quicker but it tasted great! Broth was thicker side but complimented the thicker noodles well. An order of miso ramen was very generous in quantity. We also enjoyed plum wine and citrus (yuzu) sake. They were both really yummy!

The restaurant website and phone number do not seem to be working right now but it is definitely open. It's not possible to make a reservation and you just have to show up and wait in line. The noodle was served quickly, this is the only thing that made me happy. When I picked up the noodles with the chopsticks, I noticed there was a good-sized noodle lump sitting in the soup. I had to constantly push the lump to the side of the bowl. The soup base was so thick and sticky. This would normally happen when the noodle is cooked in the soup base and the starch makes the soup sticky. However, I believe the ramen should be cooked in hot water separately before the noodles are added to the soup base. I ordered the Cha Shu Ramen, and the two thin slices of Cha Shu were so sad....my noodles shouldn't have cost me 26 Euro. I want to say it is overcharged. I am ok to pay 26 Euro, but you need to give me the 26 Euro worth of food and service. I am surprised to see such a high rating for this restaurant.

It is a bit expensive as it is located next to the Westin Hotel, but the quality is good. Lunch is a great option as the prices average from 13Euros - 20Euros. The restaurant is quite large and offers excellent service. Our meals were very quickly delivered. The menu is large with options of sushi, teppan or noodle dishes. All the dishes we tried (shashimi, sushi and grilled salmon) were well prepared. Overall a very solid restaurant.

For my money, Sushiko is better than their competitors on this level in Frankfurt like Sushi Circle, Sushi Live, etc. You can either pick-up from the conveyor belt or order fresh bento boxes, sushi rolls or tempura selections. Anything that you pick up that is intended to be eaten hot, a waiter will quickly spot you and warm the dish for you on the spot. The staff are very friendly and attentive and quick to help you out, which I really like. You can either sit counter-style, facing the belt or at some of their 4-person tables, all on high stools. They have good green tea and some nice, dry Japanese beers as well. Like any conveyor belt sushi joint, they throw some rather random curve balls into circulation like chocolate truffles, puddings and random western things that don't really belong. However, the selection of sushi and tempura is good and if you don't see what you want, just flag a waiter and it's made to order very quickly. The fish and overall quality is good for this type of restaurant - of course they don't try to compete with the higher end, more traditional places like Fujiwara. But for their niche, Sushi outshines others on the same playing field.
