Tried today for the first time, and have to say this is *the* perfect lunch spot in soho. Tucked away in a tiny alley, we went at 12 so it was fairly empty still, though a few tables were occupied. It has a modern, fresh and colourful décor and tiny tables. It's quiet, in a nice way. They specialise in temaki rolls, but you can chose your base option (3 types of salmon, tuna, veggie options, etc.) and then pick between temaki or maki rolls, if sushi-cones aren't your thing. I've ordered a citrus salmon temaki (delicious, also topped with tiny croutons), a seasonal miso soup and a set of salmon sashimi. The temaki and the miso soup were the best I've had in a long time, though the sashimi was fridge-cold which is really the only fault I could think of about this place. Paid just over £10 for everything. Definitely will be coming back.

Simple yet satisfying, Yoobi is the type of eaterie that I wish I worked next to; for their signature Temaki rolls are a good value and charismatic treat that I could easily gobble up. Food is served quick, clean, appealing to look at and super easy to consume. I had the spicy tuna Temaki roll as was specifically recommended by a friend. The seaweed roll was noticeably crispy and fresh in taste and texture and it is well balanced with the quantity of its sticky rice and tuna contents. There is a spicy sauce that gives the roll it's 'kick' (thankfully not wasabi). I also tried the Tiger Prawns and Yellowtail Maki rolls, which were beautifully put together with chilli flakes or black seeds evenly sprinkled around each roll. With these I found the filling itself to be a bit lacking in flavour and substance but they were still pleasant bites, especially alongside the traditional soy sauce and wasabi combination with a small side of pickled ginger.  The drinks were uniquely authentic too, as the Aloe Vera with honey drink is from a Taiwanese bottle and is refreshing with a the usual aloe vera bits but no unnecessary addition of sugar whilst the Guava juice seems freshly bottled with a subtle guava pulp. In short Yoobi is more simple than plain and more noteworthy than forgettable; a decent place to visit for a quick Japanese pit-stop. I do wish it had a bit more variety on the menu but what it does offer is commendable. I would rate it 3.5 stars if I could.

Went to Yoobi for after work dinner and it was pretty good but not amazing. Yoobi serves typical western style sushi with combinations such as spicy tuna and crab california. You can choose to have them as either hand rolls or as sushi rolls (which will cost ~£1.50 more). Surprisingly the hand rolls are much nicer than the typical sushi rolls. Another surprise was that the fish served on the sushi was freezing! I know sushi should be served cold.. But not thaaat cold! The mochi ice cream balls we had for dessert were also frozen solid. Other than that there weren't that many other faults (although service could be quicker and friendlier). Although I wouldn't rave about it I would probably go back because the flavours are there and it isn't crazy expensive.

The freshest darn Sushi in town!! Of course the independent sushi bars always trump the chains.. Stand alone Yoobi specialises in Temaki- hand rolls which have been inspired by the large Japanese population in Brazil oddly enough! The sushi cones are surprisingly filling and very reasonably priced (£3.20 for a simple hand-roll). I would probably have two for lunch and be pretty stuffed! The staff here are always so accommodating and make you feel part of the Yoobi family. Almost makes you not want to leave :) The service here is incredibly speedy, perfect when you are on a tight lunch break and not to mention on a diet and want to avoid the dreaded fast food chains.. I would recommend the spicy tuna and tuna tartare Temaki and finish off with the epic ice cream Mochi! Definitely pop in if you want a quick, delicious lunch that won't leave you feeling sluggish to power through the rest of the day.. http://girlyvsfood.tumblr.com

A western style sushi place good for casual lunch or dinner. The space is huge but menu is quite limited and they don't serve alcohol (major let down!) Between the two of us we ordered two sets of makis and three temakis with mochi dessert at the end and it came to £45. If you're looking for real sushi this isn't the place but it's good for casual meal.

Amazing sushi for takeaway and eat in. The menu is a bit on the short side but it makes up with the quality and taste.

The server was a great help in guiding us through and helping us to order a good sample of items. The food was brought out a good pace. We had ti.e to eat each course and never felt overwhelmed. The food was delicious. There was no item we did not like. The items we ordered offered a balance of heat and cool.

In a related and very lovely gesture, the server brought me a complimentary mutton roll (with chilli ketchup) and said they usually send something on the house for solo diners :) The roll was delicious -- savoury mutton without a strong game-y flavour that went really nicely with the mildly spicy ketchup. I decided to have an order of the Lankan chicken kari paired with a hopper. I did not know what a hopper was before then (let alone seen one), so it was an interesting surprise when I was served this unevenly thick, bowl-shaped rice pancake. Fortunately, I did not go wrong with this choice, as the hopper was so delicious. The light rice-based flavour of the hopper paired so nicely with the rich, slightly spicy curry and the tender and savoury chicken, and I really liked the textural variety of the hopper itself (thicker, spongier base and thinner, crispier sides). The ratio of hopper to curry was not quite right, though, so I ended up ordering another roti to enjoy the remaining half of my curry and chicken. The roti was really delicious -- fluffy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside -- and similarly paired super well in carrying the curry flavour. All in all, price point was pretty solid for the quality and amount of food. I thought the hopper was pricier than expected, but conversely the curry was less so -- so overall it all seemed quite reasonable. I would love the chance to come visit again and try more of their deliciously fragrant curry options next time.

The place was quite busy, and interestingly, the same person taking orders was also cooking. It's a very small setup--definitely not meant for dining in. The vibe is more like "grab your food and head out." We ordered chicken egg fried rice and chicken chow mein. Watching the food being cooked right in front of us was fascinating--quick, high heat, and full of action. Once we got our order, we sat outside to eat. The first thing I noticed was that the food was quite oily. More disappointing, though, was that I couldn't find any chicken in my fried rice--even though I had paid extra for it. I went back, showed them, and asked if chicken had been added. They bluntly said "yes" and didn't bother to check further, which was frustrating That said, the food itself tasted good overall. It's just that the oiliness and the lack of proper service took away from the experience. I wouldn't say I won't visit again--it feels more like an off day--but I was definitely expecting better service.

I ordered the Chicken Katsu over brown rice with Szechuan sauce. It wasn't too spicy and had a good portion of protein. It took about 10 minutes to wait for food. They were going to try to accommodate us but luckily we were able to sort things out. We were first sat at the bar and given the wine menu. It was odd because I really wanted the drink menu, I wasn't even sure if there was one at that point. I don't drink alcohol and needed the drink menu which I didn't get to see until we sat down. My husband ordered lemongrass cha and kakigori (his favorite). I had the Sakura spritz (non alcoholic). I was delighted that we were seated right against the glass edge. We enjoyed the view very much. We considered getting the signature set menu but there were some dishes that were not on there. In the end, we spent more than what the signature menu would have cost us oops. Pea guac- my first time having pea guac it was a good starter Duck salad - this was good Sakura Salmon- this was delicious, I'm not sure what is Sakura about it though Waygu goyza- Waygu was cooked perfectly but the star of this dish is not the wagyu the taste is over powered by the outer shell and the oils. GFC- this was good and was carried by the creamy sauce Egg fried rice - this is mixed at the table which is a good touch because it looks more presentable before mixing Ibirico pork chops - this was good Hokkido French toast - this was good Mango cheese cake - presentation was nice and favor was amazing There is a 2 hour window and we're notified we had 10 minutes left once dessert came out. Definitely one of those places where you walk in and immediately think "okay this is going to be great." Unfortunately, the actual experience didn't really match the setting for us. The drinks were good, but not particularly memorable considering the price point and reputation. The bigger issue was the service. We were seated at a shared high top next to another couple and then waited around 25 minutes before anyone took our order. After that, it was another long wait before the drinks actually arrived. By the time we finally got them, the whole vibe had kind of faded for us and we ended up leaving after one round. I still think it's worth stopping by for the views alone, but overall the experience felt more style over substance than I hoped for.
