The food was delicious and seasoned so well. The prices were very fair. The portions were very good, as we had a lot of leftovers to take home. This has always been one of my…read morego-to spots for dinners, birthdays, and special occasions, but after this visit, I will not be coming back. We had a party of 15 people, yet the chef served us what looked like portions meant for a table of 7. I immediately noticed something was off when there were only about 4 eggs used in the fried rice for the entire table completely unreasonable for that many people. When I spoke up, the chef said he couldn't add more eggs because of "cameras," which made no sense. The attached photo shows my plate after he finished cooking and I hadn't even taken a single bite. The portions were clearly inadequate. I brought this to the server's attention, and she got the manager, Sandy. Unfortunately, he was incredibly rude, dismissive, and at one point even laughed at us while we were trying to explain that we weren't getting the correct portions. That alone was beyond disrespectful. He insisted that they "measure 300 pieces of rice per person" and claimed the cook did nothing wrong. I even showed him multiple plates from our table to prove how small the portions were, but he refused to fix it, saying that's what we ordered. To make matters worse, after our meal, I watched the same chef cook for a table of 7 people using the exact same bowl of rice, the same 4 eggs, and the same amount of noodles. That confirmed what we were saying the entire time, we were completely under-served. Paying $35 per meal and ending up with portions like this is unacceptable and it was nowhere near worth the price. When I mentioned that we come here often, the manager tried to dismiss that by saying he had never seen me before. That was honestly insulting. When I asked for a discount, he refused at first, saying he was "only the kitchen manager." It wasn't until I said I would be leaving a review that he offered a small 10% discount and even then, it was only because he admitted the cook was wrong. Overall, this experience was frustrating, disappointing, and embarrassing, especially in front of a large group. We used to love coming here, but the poor service, lack of accountability, disrespectful behavior, and inadequate portions completely ruined it for us.

You have the option of a drink or miso soup. I got shrimp tempura rolls, I don't like avocados, but didn't realize it came inside the roll. I was hungry so I ate it, and it was ok. I wouldn't order it that way purposely though. The miso soup was bland, but a little butter and seasoning at home made it taste good. The side order of fried rice was decent, but some of it was undercooked and crunchy. They don't give a big portion of meat in the teriyaki either. My mom had about 9 or 11 thin pieces of beef which she didn't want to share. Lol. I managed to get a piece and it was decent. It could use more flavor, but it was hot, and the texture was good. The spicy mayo, eel sauce, and tetaki sauce I used made everything taste better!! The prices are pretty reasonable for sushi, appetizers, and teriyaki here, so if I'm balling on a budget this will do the trick. Check them out!!

The menu has a little bit of everything: sushi rolls, hibachi plates, udon soup, tempura, and appetizers. The sushi rolls I tried were tasty and came dressed with sauces, more on the casual side rather than traditional. The udon was warm and comforting, and the shrimp tempura was crisp and came with a dipping sauce. The kani salad was fresh, creamy, and topped with roe for a nice touch. The ambience is casual--plenty of seating if you want to dine in, with a simple setup. It was crowded at lunch, which shows it's a popular Monday spot.

From lunch dates with my partner to special outings with my grandma, this restaurant holds so many great memories for me. Tucked into a shopping center that has a gym and music studio, it's easy to miss, but absolutely worth seeking out. The sushi is consistently fresh, beautifully presented, and always delicious. Whether you're ordering classic rolls or one of the chef's specialties, everything comes out spot on. I love the ambiance. It's dimly lit, cozy, with cat decor. They have traditional Japanese-style seating tucked in the back that makes the dining experience feel unique and fun. The lunch specials are especially worth it, bento boxes and roll specials, generous portions, high quality, and an incredible value. It's easily one of the best lunch deals around. The service is always warm and welcoming, and walking through the doors brings a sense of nostalgia every time. It's rare for a place to stay this consistent over the years, but Inaka absolutely has. I always look forward to coming back.
