Came here for lunch with coworkers and ordered lunch special of two sushi including salad and miso soup. The food came out pretty quick and fresh. It was a bang for the buck, definitely worth it

Dining here began with a gratis appetizer which was very welcome as my party was very hungry and hadn't yet got it together to order our meal in entirety. It was a cold night and the green tea really hit the spot. We were feeling festive and opted for a sushi boat and a special roll starter. My in-laws like this spot and order in from here often. People stopped in through out to pick up take out orders and all were greeted warmly with conversations about kids in college and who is getting married. It was really nice to see this family owned business doing well and regular patrons enjoying community and fellowship.

My go to shushi spot. I've ordered from here multiple times including takeout and both have been positive experiences. They really make it too easy to just keep buying sushi. Sushi has always been fresh and I absolutely love the lunch specials that satisfy the cravings without breaking the bank.

Favorite sushi place. They have interesting rolls as specials plus anything you can think up. Went straight there from my 3.5 month away from New Jersey.

Chirashi

I probably would've given this a three for what I had for lunch but my friends rolls looked better. I tried their Chirashi Lunch special. It was nice that it was so cheap but it really just looked like your basic sashimi dish. There was some sort of pickled item on it, but most of the chirashi I have eaten have resembled more of a poke bowl. My friends got a special roll called the oh my god roll and it did look very good. Each of the lunch specials came with soup and salad. It was worth it for the price.

This place is great. Been there a bunch of times. Food is always consistently good. I always get the beef teriyaki bento box. Eel avocado is bomb.

I would say everything we had was pretty average. Not great but not terrible. I will say that the specialty rolls were very inexpensive, and the sushi in general was inexpensive. My friend ordered from here the night before and said it was really good and they even sent them a few free stuff. Maybe since I ordered on a Saturday evening they weren't going above and beyond. There were a lot of people dinning in so it does seem like a well frequented spot. Specifics on the dishes, the Crab Rangoon already had a sauced poured over. I rather do the dipping. The rock shrimp was the most disappointing, poorly fried and flavorless. The Udon noodles were pretty good, it had a distinct flavor, wish it had more of the sauce. The sushi was decent. I was not blown away. The one thing I did really like is the sauce they provided with one of the specialty rolls. It was a combo of sweet chili and spicy mayo, very good! I've never seen that before. One thing I didn't like was that they only gave us one cup of plain spicy mayo, when we were four people and order 5 rolls of sushi. When I asked for extra they said it's an additional charge. I honestly can't stand when restaurants charge extra for sauce. We ordered enough food to warrant two cups of spicy mayo lol. Overall, I'd recommend at least trying this place once or twice.

When you pull into the plaza, go towards Applebee's. It's near it. Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night around 7:30pm and was immediately seated at a table. There is a sushi bar at the front of the restaurant where you can sit to watch the sushi chefs play with their food. The restaurant is more long than wide, bathroom is all the way in the back. Decor is modern. We ordered the the sashimi deluxe and a salmon roll and spicy tuna roll. After dinner we ordered the fried ice cream. My miso soup and salad came out first before my sashimi. Both were pretty standard. We ordered gyoza, not bad, but not incredible. Complimentary fried crab salad came with our appetizer, which was pretty good. Crunchy, savory, and sweet The rolls and sashimi arrived next. The presentation on the sashimi plate was very well done, it hangs with the big 5 star sushi places I've been in. Also, it was surprisingly incredibly fresh. The two rolls were pretty standard. We were full and still took a glance at the dessert menu, we committed to the green tea fried ice cream. Typically I see round fried ice cream. This was more of a fried egg roll filled with green tea ice cream and it was cut in half diagonally, served with a chocolate sauce. Dynamite. I used my hands to grab my portion and ate it like an egg roll. Fantastic. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely stop back at this place.

This place is truly amazing! The staff are so nice!! The food is delicious!!! They remembered us from the previous time we came and she even remembered that I loved the spicy Mayo and brought it to me when my order came. I can't stop coming here now.

That said, if you're craving raw fish it's convenient for a Piermont resident, affordable, easy to get a table, and takeout is always an option. A lot of the menu leans toward rolls drenched in heavy sauces which makes it hard to tell just how fresh the fish really is... or isn't. But if you order a sushi entrée, it does come with soup and salad. They also serve Nigori sake, not always a given at more middle-of-the-road sushi spots, so that's a definite plus if you like the milky stuff like I do. It's easy, it's quiet, and they'll occasionally throw in a few extra pieces, which is always appreciated. Being right off 9W makes parking simple, proving that in Piermont easy parking does still exist, even if it's not where you expect it.

Small, not many cars, middle of nowhere and an "Open" neon light in the window. Inside, it's a quaint and very welcoming. About 10 - 12 tables, lots of wood and a sushi bar as the main attraction. We were the only ones in there **, so we took the opportunity to ask the waiter some questions. To our surprise, Hinode has been open for 21 years. From our own perception, it looks family owned. We saw 3 generations working that day. We were in the mood for sushi, so that's what we came for. But we did start with the Shumai Dumplings. Which were so delicate, tiny and full of flavor. Next time we'll get two orders. Sushi Cupcake, 2 Special Rolls (one with Shrimp Tempura & one loaded with fish) and a Tuna/Salmon Avocado Roll which was compliments of the Sushi Master. In other words, Free ! Everything was super fresh and delicious. So much so, that nothing was left. Washing it all down with their Roasted Green Tea is a must. ** We went on President's Day at 4pm Most likely, it just opened

Encouraged by several posts on local Facebook groups raving about Asahi Sushi's 'all-you-can-eat' option, I recently visited with a large group (four adults and two children). The service was exceptional -- we were seated right away at one of the large group tables, the staff was very responsive, and a massive amount of food which barely fit on the table arrived surprisingly quickly. Diners can order sushi rolls and sashimi as well as a variety of freshly-made traditional Japanese dishes (teriyaki, tempura, etc.) either à la carte (paying for each item ordered) or on an 'all-you-can-eat' (AYCE) basis ($28 for lunch or dinner on Monday through Thursday; $30 for lunch or dinner on Friday through Sunday and holidays). AYCE includes soup, salad, hot and cold appetizers, sushi, sashimi, tempura, teriyaki, and even ice cream or tempura bananas and oreos (if you have room for it after your meal). Even if you're not in the mood for a heavy meal, I still recommend the AYCE option if you're going to order more than two of the premium sushi rolls (which range from $14 to $15 apiece). There's no limit to the number of orders you can place, but it's best to pace yourself by ordering a few items at a time. We ordered a LOT of food for our group, including several hot and cold appetizers, katsu chicken, sashimi, and special rolls. While the quality and freshness of the ingredients was obvious, the overall experience definitely put an emphasis on quantity over quality. I tried the Kiss of Fire roll (made with tuna, salmon, and yellowtail topped with avocado and spicy mayo) and the Outstanding Roll (made with spicy tuna and avocado topped with pepper tuna). Both were perfectly acceptable, but they felt uninspired and lacked the distinct flavor or 'wow factor' that makes a sushi place a true destination. My meal definitely wasn't bad -- the service was great, our large order was served very quickly, and no one got sick. I'd give it 2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 stars. It's a solid, consistent option if you are in the Norwood area, especially for families or large groups. However, it didn't quite live up to the 'must-visit' hype for me. I'd return for the convenience and value, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. PRO TIP: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home or stop at 86 & Vine right across Livingston Street to enjoy with your meal. Asahi is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol.

I brought my wife here for our post-birth sushi date after hyping it up to her for months, and it did not disappoint. It's always great to be warmly greeted when you walk in and invited to grab a seat. Our server took our orders and gave us some excellent recommendations. My personal favorite is the Angry Dragon Roll, but we also had the Honey Roll, and the sleeper hit of the day: the Jersey Devil. That last one wasn't our first choice, but the server suggested it--and we're so glad we listened. We started with crispy noodles served with duck sauce and hot mustard while we waited. We also ordered two sodas to accompany the meal. When the sushi arrived, it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the first bite, the Angry Dragon was packed with flavor. The shrimp tempura and fresh mango combo is a win every time. The Honey Roll was just as fresh, with beautifully prepared shrimp. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and was plated immaculately. But the real surprise was the Jersey Devil. It was deep-fried, still warm, but somehow not mushy at all. The inside stayed intact, giving each bite a perfect texture. By the end of the meal, we were stuffed and had no room left for dessert. Bonus: Don't forget the daily buy 2, get 1 free deal on specialty rolls--makes for an affordable, high-quality date. 5/5 stars--definitely coming back for more.
