Good place to come get a quick and fresh cut. Great people! Great vibe! I came the other day and left extremely happy.

Juan was very kind and understanding with my two toddlers who were getting their first haircut with clippers. One of my kids had a tantrum and cried the whole time but Juan was really patient and worked fast to get the job done. Thanks! read more

Yohel's Barbershop - Barbers Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Great Barbershop, very friendly staff and upscale looking barbershop. If you're looking for a great fade come here

This is the first time I stopped into this barbershop... And it was a phenomenal experience. Everyone here is so friendly and the quality of the haircut is definitely up there. Massari cut my hair as well as my brother's and he did a great job! They even had food for lunch to show customer appreciation. I'll definitely be coming back here again! read more

The cut was good but waited 3 hours past my scheduled time to get cut, my barber did a great job but wasted half my day telling me I was next after the next guy and that kk happened 3 times. read more

they are aggressive and also have to yell for them to hear you cause i asked for a blow out taper and they made it look so bad and nothing like it and i asked for a design with an initial and didn't even put the initial don't go to this place unless you wanna look bad. read more

Followed my guy here over a year ago, and he still takes great care of me. Hard to beat the price for the level of service you get here, including straight razor shaves. Used to be a member of one of those "all in" barber shops, but get great personal service here at a fraction of the cost. My recommendation to those that had a bad experience here is to try another cutter before you dog the whole place. read more

I've been going here for a while and have had a haircut from just about every barber in here -- that speaks volumes in itself. Every barber here has crazy skill and I always leave looking amazing and not broke. They did some remodeling and the place looks amazing, everyone has a great attitude I'll never go back to any other barbershop. read more

My barber was unorganized and unfocused. I came as a walk-in (needing a quick haircut) and my barber was freely available when I walked in, yet his station wasn't even prepared (having to clean the hair out from his blades from his last client I presume). Furthermore, he was unfocused and ended up cutting and nicking me!!(which he quickly brushed off and said he'd spray some alcohol on it. I'm gonna have to go home and wash my hair, to make sure I don't get any type of infection from this inept barbershop. AVOID!!! read more

Before getting too deep into this review please remember: "People are like children and opinions are their toys." Walking into this establishment I was pleasantly surprised that it had a strong metrosexual Latin vibe to it; wood grained seats, a plethora of rambunctious salsa music, marble floors, frosted glass fixtures, and bright leathered furniture. The barbers are all dressed in marooned buttoned shirts and fedoras. But it was all meretricious. The barber I had (I can't speak for all) had this language barrier that possessed him to follow none of my instructions. He couldn't or wouldn't comprehend a fade, or the shaping of my beard. He scraped and raked at my hair, jarring my neck in all directions before I gave him the genius idea to use a pic for hair like mine (I'm black btw) which they had to rummage for. As the Latin Jazz and salsa music continued to swell the room another barber is hollering and psuedo-dancing while holding the clippers very close to his clients head (so .. Not so professional) The noise level, the language barriers made it difficult to communicate. My entire beard was forcibly removed right before my eyes. I ended up with an unwanted high-top fade. I feel as a new patron at an establishment like this you need to build rapport and question every step, to make sure you're giving the client what they want. I wasn't asked but one question, "what do you want?" And that request fell on deaf ears. If you're Spanish speaking you might make it out better than I did, but this joint wasn't for me. As I left, handshakes were given on my way out even without me leaving a tip .. That was enjoyable, everything else was for the birds. read more

I'm pissed! All I asked was for a simple low taper and the dude at far end with the cornrows kept insisting in doing otherwise but I kept pushing back saying "I just want a low taper in the back, that's it!" He did that and more as you can see! Cut around my ears and since I can't really see what he was doing, well, he went up high and f'd me up! I'm never coming here again! Learn to take simple directions! read more

Yohel's Barbershop - Barbers Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I have lived in the Humboldt park/Logan square area for over 5 years and Yohel's is by far the best barbershop in the area. I'm one of luis' regular weekly clients. He is extremely professional, always on time, yet very laid back and approachable. His work is consistently above average. He is very knowledge of the latest products when one decides to change up their look. I know sometimes guys can get uncomfortable going into a new shop, but you will not have that problem at Yohel's. If you are ever in need of a new barber ask for luis at Yohel's. read more

Was in the Chicago area & stumbled upon this hidden gem ! an all Puerto Rican barber shop for some reason was hard to find for me but I found it & have already gone 2 times ! My first time was dope never have I had literally the perfect medium fade I don't remember my barbers name but that dudes chair was the first on the right as soon as you walk in & he worked miracles, also they like to cater to what they think will look best on you & at first I was skeptical but damn were they right ! The second time I went I got the barber on the right all the way at the end he recommended the same medium fade as my first barber & that lead me to believe that this place knows what they are doing ! I love the come in listen to music & talk about anything in the world kind of shop it's the most humble experience & whoever doesn't like that obviously has never been in a real barber shop ! P.S The price for a cut & shave & eyebrow shape up was AMAZING, I will keep coming here for good hell when I have my kids I'll bring them here as well ! read more

Maybe I'm getting old, but the music is a sometimes a smidge too loud. (Yeah, I just used the word "smidge" so I guess I am getting old.) A lot of the barbers in here are hispanic. They are super nice, but there were a few times I had to repeat myself because I should have paid more attention in high school Spanish. But that's what I love about this neighborhood. The barbers definitely know what they are doing. I used to go to Floyd's 99 in Lakeview before I moved over to Logan. I had one awesome barber there (my girl, Sam), but the other barbers I'd get there were hit or miss. But these guys know what they are doing. I've been going to Gabriel for a little while, and he always gives me a good cut, even though I know I've got a lumpy head. He finishes it off with a nice line up with a straight edge shaving razor, which is great. I've had good cuts from a couple of the other guys too, and I've got really straight asian hair, so they've gotta be meticulous for it to look good. And they definitely are. All that for $15. Can't complain at all. read more

Got a mediocre haircut this week that was not worth the $20 I paid. The guy had no idea what I meant when I said a 'scissor fade', the detailing around my ears is terrible, and there are a few longer stray hairs along the front. Spanish speakers and those who want a high-top fade: you might do better than I did. read more

After reading some mixed reviews I decided to go. What a nice surprise!. I'm staying here in Chicago for business and needed a haircut.Well, Gabriel did a great job. Fast, sharp and funny (the rest of the team were on a break and doing some funny jokes.Last time I went to a barbershop on East Ohio and it was pricey. (Twice The price) Thanks Guys! read more

This review is just based off of one barber here and the service I got...I think most of the barbers in the shop know how to cut hair, but my advice is don't dare go for the open chair as I did. Turned out to be on my list of the worst haircuts I have ever got. Lining pushed way back and awkwardly shaped, beard not cleaned up sharp. The "barber" clearly doesn't know what he's doing, I wasted 25 bucks on this one. Note to the shop: your only as strong as your weakest link, and 25 dollar haircut barbershops deserve to have all barbers skilled and no halfway barbers. read more

Place is dope, I've been coming here for around 3 years already and I never left disappointed, these guys know what they're and the prices are reasonable, other than that I've give this place 2 thumbs up read more

I've been coming to this shop for about three years now. I moved here from NYC and had a barber that I followed around Chicago but he moved to NJ. He recommended I go to Jeremy and now I'm always coming to see the guy. Jeremy is nasty with fading and graphics. He is quick, precise, thorough and attentive to details. They are pretty awesome guys in there. They play church music and keep profanity to a minimum with sporadic moments of them checking each other should some one curse, even when it's practically dead in there on a random Tuesday or something. I appreciate their cleanliness and professionalism. The owner makes sure guys have their uniform and all towels are clean. Overall recommend this spot to any one. They are excellent with kids and pretty talented with both clippers and scissors. I always go to Jeremy but Javi is sick and so is Yohel (owner) so u really can not go wrong. If ur lucky enough to come thru during holidays they have music and food the week before Christmas if I recall. read more

I've been getting my hair cut the same damn way for a long, long time, and it never gets any easier to find just the right cut, especially now that I got this unruly beard. But Yohel's is a revelation; I'll never go anywhere else. Axel gives me the best cut I've ever had -- absolutely perfect, he takes his time and does an amazing job. It's a fun atmosphere, you never have to wait too long, and the work speaks for itself, at an incredibly reasonable rate. He's also started taking appointments online via Booksy, and unlike a lot of other hyped-up haircutters in the area, he takes cards. Straight-up the best haircut I've ever gotten. read more

Best barber shop I've been to in Chicago. I go Luis and he's always on time, professional, fun, and hooks my line up. Highly recommend checking Yohels out. Good hours, great location, lots of parking. read more

Pretty solid place. Every time I've went in they were able to set me up right away and get me out the door in under 30 minutes. The barbers I've are friendly but they don't try to force small talk like so many others, which I really appreciate. They do really meticulous work making sure lines are straight and they will trim your beard for no extra cost. Pretty awesome for $15. read more

My new go to place to get my haircut. I had the same barber my first 3 times there but was running late in a Thursday when I went recently. My guy wasn't there but the one guy that was said he would take me next even though it would run him past regular hours. Overall great place and great barbers. read more

Yohels barbershop is our go to--everyone is friendly. I love how they keep it proffesional and not curse while at work, especially when kids and women are around. I've gone to many barbershops when I take my son and it can get uncomfortable when you have these men speaking about "toto" smh. Not here though, They are all AMAZING MEN! read more

Have been going to Luis at Yohels for over a year now. He has been great. Remembers what kind of cut I get and is really easy to make an appointment. Would definitely recommend the hot shave if you get a chance. read more

This is the first and only barbershop I've ever been to so I have nothing to compare it to but this place is great. I only discovered it a few months ago but I've never had to wait despite it normally being packed. I've had several people do my hair before I found my go-to guy, Alex, but they all do a great job and actually do exactly what you ask them. It's also super-affordable; a regular haircut is less than what most chain salons charge. read more

The best thing about this barbershop is that anyone is welcome....every barber can give you the hair cut or style you desire. Consistency is key and this barbershop has it.. I will not go to any other barbershop read more

I was really excited to take my son to see Sarcastic for his cut. It was such a disappointing experience. The wait was extreme and the cut was lame. Such a waist of money. read more

Hands down the best barbershop in Chicago! The most professional and friendly barbershop you will find in the city. I came in today to get my kids a hair cut. My brother who is a regular here also brings my kids him. Today my brother called his friend Israel to make an appointment for my kids to get a hair cut. We show up around 6:30 waiting for until it's our turn, around 7:40 pm this lady shows up and Israel turns to us and tells me that we have to wait because the lady that walked in at 7:40 called ahead. I mentioned to Israel that we had also called ahead about 4 hours ago and we were told that we still had to wait. Israel said that he was going to ask the that barber to get my kids hair. I guess this place is more about who you know then about treating everyone equal. All I can say to any business is treat everyone the same don't have people waiting for hours before you take care of them. This is the last time I come here, the sad part is there really not that good of barbers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. read more

I stumbled into Yohel's desperate for a fix to a haircut that I had just received at another barber shop. I was seen immediately by Gabriel, who was extremely professional and kind. He not only fixed the unevenness, but he made it look very clean and cool. I will certainly be returning. read more

I never write reviews but this has been the worst haircut I have had in Chicago. Went in and asked for a simple pompadour haircut. That did not happen. Showed the barber a picture and asked if he had any questions, he said he go it. Apparently he did not, and now I'm stuck with a horrible cut. Avoid this place unless you like looking like a Puerto Rican thug. read more

I pass by this barber shop all the time and have wanted to try them out. I had 30 minutes to spare one evening so I decided to stop by since it looked like there was almost no wait time. Keep in mind this is my first time and have never had a cut here. I did have to wait a short time but unfortunately during that short time I witnessed one of the barbers make a racist statement about Mexican males. He was cutting a young boys hair and asked his father if he wanted something on his head. I didn't make out what that specific thing was. He proceeded to tell them both that many Mexicans get that style and it was good that he chose not too because he doesn't want him to look like a Mexican. I walked out immediately after I heard that. I will not support a business who employs people who speak negatively about others culture. This barber is of Latino decent so it is very disappointing to witness a Latino speaking that way against other Latinos. Shameful. read more
