I am a hard core frozen yogurt connoisseur. I enjoy the flavor tart the most. FroYo is not very popular in DC so when I visit my family in Florida, I always enjoy frozen yogurt when able. Yogurtology has the most flavors I've seen so far. Also they have the most toppings. It's self serve and for the most part this location is very clean. The only issue I've found is the containers where they store the toppings could have germs. You'll see them behind the cash register as you walk in. Since the toppings are in containers that aren't being used from their original package, cross contamination or other germs are a possibility. I went to this place twice in one week because it was so good. The frozen yogurt is super creamy and it doesn't melt super fast like some froyo that I've had at other places. The flavors I tried all tasted good, but I would say the salted caramel was my favorite. There are lots of good toppings to choose from too. All the froyo options are low fat (which is great if you're like me and have trouble digesting high fat dairy), and there plenty of gluten- and dairy-free options as well. My only critique is that it's a little expensive, but in my experience, all froyo places are. (That may also be because of the excessive amount of toppings I dump on top...oops ). Believe it or not, this was my first time in yogurtology and I live about three miles away. I walked in and asked the young lady if I could simply purchase the toppings and not the yogurt and she pleasantly answered yes, they would just have to weigh them. I'll be taking these toppings to Ohio tomorrow. My 84 year old grandfather loves this place. Of course the yogurt wouldn't make it so I did the next best thing. They've got a great staff who will let you taste test everything, plenty of different flavors, many toppings, and they're not too expensive. This Yogurtology is pretty great. Although smaller than the other location in South Tampa, it has a great variety of yogurt flavors, toppings, and "bottom things" like baklava, nutty buddies, brownies, etc. Usually the flavor of the month is the same at both stores. The store itself is cute and clean and there is both interior and outdoor seating. On our recent visit, Margarita was extremely helpful and broke down the process for us. Her customer service was excellent and she was fast and efficient. We assembled our yogurt creations and off we went to enjoy our sugary treats outside so we could take advantage of the nice weather. My favorite yogurt is the Tart (I know I'm a freak but I like plain Greek yogurt as well) but the other flavors are fun to try (you are allowed complimentary samples)! There are also sugar free and dairy free sorbets and yogurt offerings. Lots of fresh fruit and sugary toppings, liquid toppings, hot fudge, powdered toppings, and whip cream are available. There is a good amount of parking for this location and it was never full when we were there. If you find yourself in the area and nearly (SOG) then stop in and give Yogurtology a try and your blood sugar a boost! read more

I think I actually prefer this Yogurtology location to the other one which is basically five minutes away from here. It seems a lot quieter. This is a "create-your-own" froyo concept, so expect a lot of the same when it comes to pouring as much (or as little) frozen yogurt as you want. Yogurtology has a great selection of flavors, from the classics like tart, vanilla and chocolate to some more "out there" ones like Cap'n Crunch and Butterfinger -- both of which, might I add, are very delicious. Yogurtology has a different kind of system when it comes to creating a froyo masterpiece, however, because you can start with a "bottom" topping for your creation which can include donuts, waffles, oatmeal cream pies, etc. In this respect, Yogurtology is very unique. The other toppings are pretty standard here, though. Lots of candy, chocolate and fruit is available to put on top of your yogurt as well as whipped cream, caramel, hot fudge, and chocolate drizzle. Yogurtology's prices are comparable with any other self-serve frozen yogurt place. They also offer frozen yogurt treats for dogs. Good little place with lots of toppings. One of my favorite things to do on a hot day is walk to Yogertology, get one of their signature flavors (my favorite is the new apple, spinach, broccoli...??) throw on some fresh fruit and head to one of their tables outside. Their choices are endless from Carmel to a standard tart they are never at a loss. The topping bar has everything, I mean everything. Fresh fruit, sour gummies, boboa and hot fudge. It's good thing I don't live closer otherwise I could be in trouble. The staff is good, they are always asking if anyone wants a sample and are always attentive but are lacking in personality. The staff is friendly and let's you taste all the flavors beforehand.The interior is always clean and looks cool with it's modern furniture. This location has a long white leather couch along the wall in the dining area. They also have outdoor seating available. The flavor selections are great and it's a good mix of traditional flavors and some different ones. Sometimes they have Crunch Berries or Dole whip to mix it up. On a recent trip they had 2 flavors I never tried before Rice Krispy treats and Cotton Candy. Both sweet and delicious. They also have fun toppings. The art and science of Yogurt! We were looking for a little pre-zoo sweet treats when yelp guided us to Yogurtology not 8 miles from the Zoo! We are both a fan of the "bar" style Frozen Yogurt locations and were excited about both the reviews on yelp and the possibility of some delightful frozen yogurt. Pulling up to this place makes you already feel very excited! It is very simple looking, very modern, and makes you feel like they don't need to impress with you with a lot of flair. They are simply inviting you into their simple shop to allow the Yogurt to speak for itself. Upon entering we were greeted by a very friendly member of the staff who explained to us how the shop worked and told us some of their newer flavors, etc. She was very helpful and very informative. Something this shop offered that others had not were "Bottomings" , items you could put in the bottom of your cup to put yogurt on, naturally I went for the ultimate of bottomings, the oatmeal cream pie. Unfortunately my cream pie was stale, which is no surprise because it was sitting out in a bowl (maybe keep them in the wrappers?). The toppings bar had a great selection! A bigger selection than I have seen in a lot of places! I had the PB & J flavored yogurt, and cupcake batter. The cupcake batter had relatively no flavor, but the PB & J was ripe with flavor and absolutely delicious! The checkout person was also very friendly! Whenever I am in Tampa, I try to stop by Yogurtology. This visit was a disappointment. I was shocked that customers are allowed to spoon toppings, despite COVID. Based on that, I will not return until we are post-pandemic. Additionally, the variety of flavors was lacking compared to past visits. The dispenser on the flavor I selected was not working properly. Best place to dive into a froyo in Tampa, quite possibly the world. I always thought I was a simple girl when it came to frozen yogurt. "Give me a vanilla yogurt, please" I would say. "Oh no, no toppings for me." But, when I went in to the church of Yogurtology I walked out with a new philosophy. Not just about yogurt, but I think about life. Ok, ok. I might be exaggerating a little bit BUT, this is seriously good stuff. For the sweets nut out there, they have bottomings. These are cookies, brownies, swiss cake rolls, putter butter cups, donuts and more that you put in before the yogurt. Though I've seen the light, these aren't for me. Now, onto the yogurt. They have ever-changing flavors, some seasonal, some in a rotation. There are plenty to choose from plain (vanilla to classic tarte), fruity (raspberry, blueberry), sweet (salted caramel, double fudge brownie, peanut butter) and the, well, weird (they have a flavor with veggies in it that's great). They seem to nail every flavor they try. My personal favorite is Salted Caramel. I didn't think I'd like it and, in a way, I was right- I LOVE IT! The toppings bar is just ridiculous. They start out with fresh fruit and an assortment boba pearls. I'm not going to name everything that on the toppings bar but just highlight some of my favorites. (deep breath) chocolate turtles with caramel filling, cookie dough, oreos, granola, reese's chunks, gummy bears, and the list goes on and on. They've even got fruity pebbles and things that look like rocks but are actually chocolate. THIS IS IMPORTANT: This isn't your mom's yogurt shop. You need to take in all the toppings, formulate a strategy and then attack. I've seen rookies end up with way too many flavors for one cup. Besides, you're creating a culinary (well, at least yogurtology) masterpiece. Michaelango didn't just dive right into painting the Sistine Chapel, did he? This is pure awesomeness. The flavors they have like: coconut, chocolate hazelnut, pumpkin spice, and regular chocolate are just awesome. You walk in and there is a girl with little cups that can provide samples of any flavor that is available. They were all delicious and complex and really creamy! There were plenty of toppings ranging from seasonal fruits, rice crispies, chocolate chips, moochi, gummy bears, .... you name it. There was an obscene amount of toppings. Honestly I would prefer to have more flavors than all the extensive toppings if you ask me. But whatever! Once you have your yogurt and your toppings then you have it weighed. You pay by the weight so you need to be careful with the toppings. I tend to limit mine to 3 otherwise I would be paying more for toppings than yogurt! Anyway, this place is delicious and really have enjoyed their coconut and pumpkin spice flavors. They are divine.... just don't mix them together... that would be weird! read more

Bases and toppings are plentiful and anything you can pretty much think of they have. We've been to so many frozen yogurt places but Yogurtology is the best. I was thrilled beyond pieces when they opened a location close to my home. I love the flavors, especially salted caramel. I think the real attraction is the toppings, you can have pretty much anything from entire swiss cake rolls to gummy bears to several kinds of nut topping.
