I was taken to a waiting area and then back to the room which was very tiny. The masseuse didn't introduce himself as the one doing my massage he just said follow me so I did. No instructions once we got to the room. I had to ask. He did ask me the pressure I prefer and I said moderately firm as I did book a deep tissue massage. So he begins my massage and it was awful for a full 60 mins of torture. It was not a massage at ALL. The pressure he was applying I thought he was going to break the table!! The whole table was shaking and it seemed like he whole point was like you asked for deep tissue, that's what you'll get. Nothing about it felt like a massage where you actually get your back rubbed it's was all pressure points, him using his elbows in my back. I should have stopped him but I thought maybe just maybe he will ease up on the areas where I didn't ask him to focus, I was wrong. I sucked it up and ran out of there. Never again will I book a massage here.

Such a high quality of care from the start of my experience. She let me explore quietly as the other class finished and its truly a tranquil space. There is tea and water as well as a long conference table you can viist with others at. There is a large outdoor space with lots of seating and tables. The session I had was so rejuvenation- I felt honestly so healed by my Yin Yoga session, I felt centered and cared about by the instructor. The classes are small and you feel seen and heard. First timer here! I have never tried hot yoga before and I…read moremust say I had my doubts about the class. Located in a small complex by Kohl, you will find this hidden gem. There is plenty of parking so no need to worry about that! If you will see a big "Yoga" sign above you are at the right place. When you come in, you will be greeted by your instructor/the receptionist. With that said, sometimes, if you call during the class, the instructor may not be available to answer the phone. If you need a mat, you can rent one along with a towel as well. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring in your own mat and towels. What to bring: Yoga mat Towel to go on top of your yoga mat Water/electrolytes drink ( if you are inclined to shower after the class they have showers available too!) Tip: Don't be late! Once the class is in session, the front doors are locked. Even though the heat is evenly distributed throughout the room, I was told that if you are closer to the window, you will get a little less heat on that side . Yoga etiquette: Find a spot in the room, where you can see yourself in the mirror, but do not block anybody behind you. No talking during the class. Do not leave the class early. If you're a beginner like me, you will enjoy taking Amanda's class ! She goes through the class step by step and is very clear about each yoga move/position. I'm so glad to have taken my first Hot Yoga class with her. I will definitely be back to take more of her classes!

I've had such a wonderful experience with Lotus Garden…read more I first started attending Gentle Yoga classes after a softball injury. The injury caused lower back issues and sciatica on the left side of my body. I couldn't walk for a month and a half and had to use a cane for 4-5 months thereafter. Lotus Garden has such a very intimate setting with instructors that are kind, knowledgeable and challenging. They have extra equipment on hand for newbies just learning yoga practices with a $15 drop-in fee. This place healed me and I am so grateful. I am no longer walking with a cane and my body is becoming stronger from the inside out. I now try to go 5 days a week and I'm looking forward to learning how to meditate through their free meditation classes.
