This is an amazing yoga studio. I went to Wendy's class on Friday and I will definitely be coming…read moreback. Classes are $10 but you can buy packages for a bit of a discount. There are several classes a day ranging from beginner to advanced. If you don't have a mat they have several to choose from. Also I feel the need to mention how comfortable I was in the studio. I'm not a go to the gym and work out type of person. I rather go to a secluded park or use my rower at home but I honestly can't wait to come back and take another class.

I began to get into yoga many years ago, and stopped practicing it due to some health issues, which…read morekind of resulted in me not doing it at all for a while until I recovered. I'm still very much in recovery, but my old yearning for the practice began to itch at me again when I began to undergo a very difficult time in my life. I had mentioned this to a friend and she strongly encouraged me to start doing yoga again because it gets energy moving in your body, and is cleansing for the spirit. I mainly wanted to do it for the physical benefits, so I decided to come in today to West End Yoga because it's the closest studio to me. Needless to say, the entire experience was incredibly relieving and cathartic. Feeling my body--which I've abused so many times before with rigorous diets and painful practices of self-harm--move through the motions and transgress from one pose to another rather awkwardly but altogether gracefully was such a poignant and important progress for me. The basics of breathing and moving are surprisingly visceral and liberating. I was stunned when, at the end of the session, tears randomly began to spill from my eyes. The entire experience definitely moved everything in me and brought stuff to the surface, and I believe that is the power of quieting the mind. The instructor was very gentle and supportive. I got major chills when we closed with the "ohm". This is my go-to spot now, and it helps that it's literally 5 minutes from my home. I even left my yoga mat there for future visits. I'm sold.

I came to my hometown for an extended stay around Thanksgiving and needed to find somewhere to…read moreworkout. The yelp reviews of the Yoga Loft led me to purchase a 5 class package. I enjoyed the ease with which I could go online and reserve my spot in class and pay right there so when I showed up I didn't have to worry about having cards/cash or there not being room, etc. I will briefly talk decor before I go into my experience with the classes. I have done yoga at places all over the US. Where I go now in Chicago is a chain and is more like a gym. It is a new space, has big bathrooms with showers, etc. Yoga Loft is more what I have experienced at local yoga studios. The space is a bit older (downtown Bethlehem on top of a hardware store), but it is homey as opposed to gym like. The reception area has old couches to sit on, the floors are all older wood. The ceiling is popcorn panels which isn't great, but oh well. There are lots of windows to let in natural light. I arrived for my first class and was greeted by the receptionist and given a quick explanation of where things were and how the studio worked. I have taken 3 classes so far and enjoyed them all. I am used to yoga that is flow and designed more for a workout rather than the spiritual or mental health side of the practice which is where the Yoga Loft leans a bit more but I also got a great workout. I started with Level 1 as I didn't know how my yoga experience where I go in Chicago would translate. It was more basic poses and broken down to a slower pace, but we stayed in the poses for a bit longer which made it more of a workout. The classes are also all over an hour which adds to the endurance needed while I am used to 40 - 60 minute classes that are more intense. The second class was a Level 2 class that offered more advanced poses that I am used to. Like the Level 1, poses were held for a bit longer which added to the difficultly. Doing Level 1 then Level 2 on back to back days definitely left my legs and triceps sore, in a good way. The third class was actually on Thanksgiving and as it was open to all, it was more like a Level 1 class, but alternatives were offered to makes poses more advanced as the room's skill level varied greatly (there were around 50 people there!). I really enjoyed this class, especially the partner poses which were new to me. I can't wait to use my last 2 classes in the package and will definitely be returning when I am in the area.

I really like that the instructor gave modification and challenge options as we went through the poses and workouts. This was different than other barre classes that I've been to - rather than focus on arms and move on, we did arms but then some options in the other poses/circuits later on also included arms. My muscles were definitely fatigued but that's what we were going for! I still liked it though! If you're new to barre and considering this class it's definitely worth a try! The workouts don't look as tough as they are but you'll feel the burn shortly after you've just started pulsing! I think what I like most about barre in general is that it's low impact - this class definitely stayed true to that but I still had a little sweat going on as I went through the poses. Your muscles will shake but that's good and you know that it's working! When I walked in, the receptionist was polite and cheerful and made it a point to introduce me to the instructor because it was my first. I really liked that - then the instructor knew to keep an eye on me if I was struggling and she knew my name (love it when they let you and the whole class know you're doing a great job). The studio was super clean and it looked they had a childcare option so you don't have to schedule around a babysitter to get your workout in! Also the studio has big windows that overlook the parking lot. The sunlight was really nice as we were working out. So glad a barre studio is finally in the Lehigh Valley!

I didn't think such friendly establishments existed anymore until I went here. When I went to my first class (which is free!) they took extra special care of me, making sure I had everything I needed and even set up my spot in the workout room. Upon leaving, they gave me a hand written card with epsom salts to soak in if I was sore. I thought maybe that was just how they acted since I was new, but no. I have been back 4 more times since, and each time the instructor takes time to introduce themselves to me with a smile. It is such a great environment to workout in. It is clean, and the overall Barre3 experience is a must if you have a busy day job like me. When I leave, my whole overall being is in a much better state. I get excited knowing I am going to Barre3 after work. I feel very welcomed at this location, and you can tell everyone who works there cares about you!

It was literally my first class here and I wasn't even there 5 mins before I walked out. As a yoga instructor how you can possibly think it's ok to do that to someone is beyond me. She called it "militant" and stood by her actions in calling me out during class. I'm disappointed this isn't the studio for me and want to make sure others don't experience this type of trauma in their yoga practice if this isn't their style of practice. It's quite devastating.
