I started as a trial and now enjoy it, if in town I rarely miss going there. I am able to join the sessions with Mark, Coby and Kevin. All have been a great experience for me. I have not tried out any other Yoga places before this. But I am happy here, so did not want to explore as well as long as I am here in this town. Another good thing is the flexibility in timing. Yes, please and thank you! Love this place, love Juli, loved the Vinyasa Flow class. It's my birthday and i told my hubby that I wanted to sign up for the $30 days for 30 dollar deal. In my head I want to be a yoga enthusiast/expert and do headstands on the beach because I am a yoga guru. And then I woke up! I got to the studio a few minutes late, opened the door and closed it back because I didn't want to interrupt. I started to leave but Juli (instructor) came out and told me it was okay to come in. The class had all levels and as beginner I didn't feel out of place. I was sweating like a pig at a bacon festival. I was checked and given helpful corrections. Everyone is in their zone and could care less that you are not perfect. I loved the part during savasana (sp?) when Juli came around with lavender oil and rubbed it along my brow and temple area and gave my head a tug to stretch it out and relax it more. I could have fallen asleep in this relaxing pose given more time. I met another newbie so it was nice to have company. I can't wait to go back. For 30 bucks of unlimited classes for 30 days you are able to try out all the different instructors to see if you really like it and want to commit. I love the studio! As a new member, I tried the $30 unlimited special and I've been to quite a few classes over the last few weeks, by at least 4-5 different instructors. I've really enjoyed my experience with Yoga Bliss so far. I also like the intimacy that the studio offers. Although it is small (one room), there are many offerings, including hot yoga. The owner is very friendly and it is apparent that she loves what she does. The studio is also very clean and they provide yoga mats for free, just in case you forget yours :) They're located in the Kentlands, and there's plenty of parking. I'd suggest parking in the back lot. They're a few stores down from the chocolate shop... read more

I joined the studio on a new student special pass. I'm finding that the class content does not match what is written on the schedule. I went to a class yesterday that was advertised as a vinyasa class but the teacher made us hold the vinyasa poses for over a minute rather than flowing. There was logic to the sequencing, as if she were just randomly choosing poses to fill up the time of the class cuz she didn't have a plan. I went to a class this morning that was advertised as hatha but was actually chair yoga. There was no warm-up. We started in standing poses. There was no taking into account the levels in the class and it was treated as if everyone was a beginner who would never done yoga before. There's another teacher who I took both for a slow flow and a regular vinyasa who used the exact same sequence. What's the point of writing difference class types on the schedule if there's no consistency or integrity? read more

This is a really small studio in Kentlands, but I really like the intimacy of it. I've done yoga before in two different cities, but this one studio isn't pretentious or overly 'gentrified' like corepower. For that reason, I've gone back. I started with a $20 unlimited yoga for a week and my first class turned out to be a private lesson with Kevin because no one else showed up. He was able to identify something that I never knew all my life about my wrists, just from doing a few basic yoga poses! Later that week, I also tried their hot yoga class, which wasn't as hot as I thought it would be, but I worked up good sweat and felt great afterwards. Their classes that I've been to have been no bigger than 10 people and I do think that the teachers have your best interest at heart. They all have their styles and their techniques but at the end of the day, if you feel like you got what you needed, that's what yoga is about right? And I feel I get what I need to stretch, build strength, and balance in my life! I have been going to this studio for a couple of months. I am so happy I found them! I love Scott's hot, power classes. The classes are challenging and move at a fast pace. He plays upbeat music and always encourages you to believe in yourself. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had and has helped me gain strength in my mind and body.The studio offers slower paced classes as well. The space is simply and beautiful. I was in search of a yoga studio so that I could figure out the meaning of life and feel the energy force in between my palms if I hold them 1 inch apart. I also wanted to become more flexible and maybe do the splits one day. I also wanted to decompress and feel relaxed after work where I had to listen to these women talk about how they bought their husband an Xbox for Christmas but their husband only bought them a pair of socks or they would talk about how their feet look as big as that of an elephant because they're so pregnant and all the fluid drains to their feet and they can't choose which OB/GYN to see because blah blah blah. I also wanted to meet some flexible chick around my age to be my yoga friend while she wonders if I'm single and questions if I like her and stalks my Facebook looking for answers to no avail then she becomes frustrated because she can't "read me" and has no idea if we're just friends and- And only some of those things happened. I did, however, learn an amazing stretch for the ITB (iliotibial band), so my $50 introductory month special was worth it! Positive things: -Plenty of hot chicks wearing yoga pants -Rarely was there a second dude in the class so I knew they were all after me! -I love when the instructors spray lavender because it's an aphrodisiac and it just smells good -There are several classes to choose from -Everyone is really polite -The instructors are knowledgeable -I recommend this studio for level 1 and beginner yogis -This isn't a Bethesda studio so it's not awkward as a newbie. In Bethesda sometimes I think that everyone is a snotty prick who encourages me to feel how soft their lululemon outfit is ("Just touch it. Feel it. Isn't it so soft?") Negative thing: -I didn't find the classes challenging. They offer classes with inversions but I don't think inversions are good for your neck. Plus I don't enjoy inversions. I think of them as unnecessary. I sound like a difficult-to-please simp since I can't do a freestanding headstand and I acknowledge that I would have been challenged if I practiced the headstands, but I prefer being challenged with deep stretches, arm balances, lower body strength, etc. Conclusions: If I had joined for a year for $108/month, I would have been bored by the 2nd month. They do have Christmas-time specials though! $77/month for one year! That really tempted me. Sport & Health at Lakeforest is only $30/month. The yoga at Sport & Health is not nearly as good, but Dorinda's Monday night class is very good. I think you're better off watching yoga online and practicing at home. Poweryoga.com is a good site, and it's only $12/month if you join for one year. They've got a one week free trial, too. Yogabliss IS doing a huge favor to the community by teaching us yoga, but they offer only one level 2/3 class per week. I'm willing to give them another shot. The benefit of a yoga studio is having a small class size with an instructor to guide you through the poses. So long as you learn how to center your hips, reduce compaction, create space, and keep your neck aligned, you should be good to practice on your own. Pro con pro con pro con read more

A small, cozy, relatively new yoga studio nestled in the heart of the Kentlands. The space consists of a single simply decorated room where a modest variety of classes are offered a couple times a day. The instructors are very kind and encouraging and teach many different styles, mostly vinyasa but with occasional, prana flow, hatha, and power classes. There are also classes especially tailored to beginners as well. The studio atmosphere is very novice-friendly, and the classes are definitely very accessible to anyone who wishes to enter the practice. I would say the pricing is currently a little steep for the space and number of classes offered but I know they are currently planning to add more sessions and workshops. I would love to see more hot power and perhaps a few more intermediate-advanced level classes. Regardless, I'm very glad there's finally a yoga studio in this area and am excited for what the future holds for this up and coming space! read more

I'm in town visiting for a couple weeks and needed to find a place to do yoga - that's how I came across Yoga Bliss! I'm not familiar with the area, but it's easy enough to find. There is free street parking and it's located on the 2nd floor when you walk in the front door. Pros: -The instructor seemed very knowledgeable. I took a hot vinyasa flow class. -Free yoga mats to use - great for me since I wasn't able to bring mine along -Inversion practice. Not all yoga studios practice inversions so it was nice to see that this one does. I really want to master my headstand/dolphin/etc! - Pretty clean studio -Everyone is very nice! Very nonjudgmental environment. Cons: -Everything is in one room. I signed up when I arrived before class, and it was a bit awkward to enter my info on a tiny iPad while the room was heating up. I'd suggest signing up online beforehand for new students. -Not hot enough! I'm used to 95 degrees for vinyasa and 105 for bikram style. This studio (I'm assuming bc it's all one room and can only cool down with fans and opening windows) only gets up to about 80/85. -No mirrors on the walls -No towels to use - bring your own -It's light in the room during the day as there are no window shades - I prefer darker rooms All in all I'd say it's a great studio for beginners or those who don't like hot yoga. For me, it's great while I'm visiting, but I prefer hotter classes & bigger studios. read more

I love it here. Yoga Bliss got me back into yoga after a year-long hiatus after college, and I am absolutely (re-)hooked. I started out buying a pack of classes on a whim before Christmas last December to spend my company's wellness credit before it expired at year-end. Then, I got an email that a new instructor was joining the studio, and we were welcome to try her first class for free! I am SO glad I did, because now I have been going to that Monday morning class ever since. I recently renewed my membership by buying another pack they had on sale for Earth Day! Braja Kishori is remarkable. Her beautiful spirit and strength are inspiring and truly bring out my best each class. I have already seen great improvement in my strength and stamina, as well as my mindfulness each time I walk out of the studio. I am always impressed by how seamlessly the class goes, despite the various age and experience levels of the people in the room. I love that the classes are reasonably priced, the schedule is full and varied, and they provide all of the equipment you could need. No showers, but there is a restroom. They also have mats, blankets, blocks, and straps that they encourage everyone to use free of charge. You can sign up for classes using the MindBody app, which you can change freely. I have yet to attend one, but they have also held multiple workshops on weekends that can broaden and deepen your practice and overall wellness. The new member deal is more than worth it! Yoga Bliss is a pretty sweet studio. I started out with the new student special (30 days for $30) which is a great deal! I'm not a regular student, but every time I enter the studio I feel welcome. The space is not huge, but I find it to be very intimate and cozy. Definitely show up early if you want a good spot! The studio is simple and beautiful. I can't get over the little chandeliers - I want to take them home! I have taken several different styles at Yoga Bliss - vinyasa flow, yoga nidra, prenatal, and pilates. I loved every class. I've taken class with almost all of their teacher and I have only good experiences. Sabina, Edith, and Dorota are amazing. I am really conflicted about writing this review. I only do so only because I would like for bliss to be successful in the future. Bliss is a nice small studio, sometimes a little too small. I originally came here because I started my yoga journey in a gym and I wanted to explore deeper into my practice. The criticism I have for bliss is in a way the same problem that makes it good. Allow me to explain, there is a big problem with the consistency of the teaching. They have a core set of instructors that are amazing and do a great job, but then, mostly on the weekends, in the time slots where one of the amazing teachers aren't available they fill the spots with teachers that are not so great and even disappointing. I can only practice in the evening, but unfortunately, the schedule is mostly filled with regenerative or yin classes the are great, but not really challenging. The weekend schedule is mostly limited to morning classes and often there is nothing available after 2:00 PM. So if you are not an early bird you don't really have any options. Now for the constructive part; Please mix up the evening classes and offer more options for heated or vinyasa flows. Extend the schedule on the weekend and offer more classes later in the day. Lastly, upgrade the quality of teaching in those time slots that are not so popular, maybe you'll get more people to show if the quality of instruction was better. Bliss would be great if there was a little more variety in classes and the quality of the teaching was a little more consistent. read more

Yoga Bliss is a fantastic yoga studio. I tried a few local studios before finding this one, which I felt very comfortable with right away. It's a small, intimate studio and is not at all intimidating. The instructors are very friendly and helpful, and it's a really positive environment for practicing yoga. Over the past year they've really added a lot of classes to the weekly schedule, and I think the variety is excellent. Also I think the prices are very reasonable for the area and compared to other local studios, and throughout the year they run specials, which are a great deal. read more

Last year, I tried the 1 month unlimited special. After trying most of the instructors, I decided this was the place for me. I signed up for the full year special in early January and have been practicing 4-6 days a week since. Most of the instuctors are awesome; my favs are Sabina, Debi, Braja, Gail, and Dorota. I prefer the athletic side of Vinyasa flow classes but also love Kevin's yin classes. Havng been an athlete all my life, I find this studio suits me well. All the insturctors are more than willing to discuss asanas and your personal practice before or after class. I noticed some reviewers complain that the room is not heated enough; it is comfortably heated, allowing me to gain the flexibility without being stifling as in a Bikram class. Sabina has created a wonderful, inviting space in which to practice. She is approachable and kind. Her instructors are top-notch. read more

Yoga Bliss is astounding. The studio is comfortable and intimate. Park in the back parking lot (near Michaels), walk up one flight of stairs, and leave your shoes outside. There are cubbies inside as well as mats, straps, blocks, and blankets which are free to use. The instructors are amazing, and I've had especially good experiences with Kevin and Dorianne, who make it a point to introduce themselves to new students, remember their names, make them feel welcome and comfortable, offer to answer any questions and take suggestions, etc. There are so many classes to choose from, and the ones that usually fit into my schedule are the 12:15 vinyasa flow classes. Each class is different and focuses on different aspects of yoga - which I love, so things don't get routine or monotones, and each class targets multiple areas of the body so you always leave feeling like you've really worked something out and feel satisfied. There are no mirrors in the studio, so you feel very connected to the class and your body instead of staring at your form. The instructors are all very accommodating and offer hands-on assist to their students if wanted, and I enjoy the smaller class sizes than I'm used to as regular gym yoga classes. Overall this studio is great for someone interested in strengthening their body and increasing flexibility in a secure and friendly environment with other students of all levels read more

Since we moved to the area a few months ago, I've been searching for a yoga studio to call home. I'm a runner (average 15 miles per week) and yoga is a really important cross training activity for me. I'm so happy I've found Yoga Bliss for my practice. Very Friendly! Which is always a plus to me, clean studio as well. I have taken hot yoga a few times and I love it but since I moved out here I have not found a studio I am in love with. So the room really was not as hot as I am use to (105-110) this was only maybe 90. The windows were open and music was playing 2 things I have never encountered taking yoga. Also there is no waiting area or reception area so when you open the door you are in the class. For me I personally wanted it hotter and more of the yoga flow get rid of my toxins find that inner peace feeling and I just did not get that. I know there are different types of yoga but I never have had a class where they play music and you shake your butt! Being as though it wasn;t the type of yoga I was looking for I probably would not go back, I really want the hot yoga that is Bikram style! I would come back for a regular yoga class I guess simply b/c all the staff in spoke with either by email or in the class were nice and to me that means a lot. I did not see that they offer kid classes but I did see that some of the teachers teach kid classes for those of you looking for kid yoga classes. Also take your shoes off before you open the door, the do have a place in the class for you to put your bag and they do have mats for free as well! read more

I joined Yoga Bliss Studios with the 30-day introductory special, and I've had the chance to try a variety of classes and instructions. I really love how there is something for everyone here! The classes can be challenging, which is great, but all of the instructors take a really positive approach to doing what works for your practice and your body. The studio has a great atmosphere with lots of sunlight, wood floors, and cute little chandeliers. It's also in a really convenient location with plenty of parking;. However, the space could be improved by a waiting room or separate coat room area, as the studio is a bit on the smaller side. The studio seems quite popular, and for good reason, so be sure to go a little early to get a good spot but the people who attend the classes are nice about making room for everyone. After my first 30 days, I'll definitely be coming back for some more classes! read more

I began to attend Yoga Bliss a few months ago, as I was in search for a prenatal yoga class so I could take advantage of the benefits of yoga throughout my pregnancy. I felt very welcomed into the class by the instructor, Natasha. At the start of each session, each student will address any health issues and indicate how many weeks pregnant they are. This class also includes students who may not be pregnant (or post-natal), and Natasha modifies all poses so all can participate properly given their pregnancy stage. She provides good instruction, and I appreciate her providing adjustments so that each pose is performed safely and properly. She also ensures that all students are very comfortable in class, often bringing additional support materials to students who need more comfort or support. I would highly recommend this class and Natasha! read more

This is an absolutely wonderful studio! There are a wide variety of teachers for all levels. There are lots of classes throughout the day, whether you prefer to practice yoga at 6 am or 8 pm. The space is warm, inviting and peaceful. Taking yoga classes here doesn't begin to compare to the gym yoga classes I used to take!! The owner, Sabina, is great and very responsive. I've really liked the hot power classes for getting toned up after having my kids and also love the relaxing meditative parts of classes.
