Extend Yoga is by far the best yoga studio I've been to in the area. Every teacher is extremely knowledgable and every class leaves you feeling amazing. I appreciate that they offer a variety of classes every day of the week for all levels. I also love that they have different local artwork featured each month and they organize community building events (volunteer road cleanup, plant swap, winter coat drive, etc.). I knew I loved Extend Yoga when I saw that they keep a supply of hair bands, bobby pins and hygiene products in the bathroom. I started in hot yoga studios years ago and so appreciate that they offer this type of class there at least once a week (if not more) so every so often I get my sweat on and wring out. The teachers are friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. Also, the lighting and music are conducive to eliciting a meditative and focused state for doing asanas. Five stars read more

I wanted a place in Bethesda where I could sign up for a 10-class pass without any hard commitment. Cue extendYoga. They offer a 10-class pass for under $20/class and a 1-year fulfillment timeline. Talk about flexibility! They offer a variety of classes and styles, and their schedule is perfect for that 6/7pm class. I have done some 'yoga studio shopping' with all those Groupon/Living Social-esque deals and so have been to a few studios in the area. I just purchased a summer package with ExtendYoga and I really like this studio because: - Heated and Hot Yoga - but not too hot!! Bikram Yoga was way too hot for me, but the heated classes here are just right :) Bring a towel, drink lots of water and get ready to sweat! - Super easy to use online scheduler with flexible cancellation policy. Frequently updated schedule. Sometimes they offer babysitting for certain classes, which is a nice touch that I've noticed. - Deals - whether it's $5 Fridays, or the 'pay what you can' classes for charity, or their monthly specials for teachers or students, they make it affordable to try out the studio. - Offering some 75 minutes classes is a great plus! It's a very clean and simple studio, and everyone there is really nice. Plenty of parking. My only personal complaint is that trying to get to the studio and crossing Montrose Rd/Rockvile Pike is crazy during rush hour timing, so, like for a 5:30 class, I sometimes leave home way in advance and read at Starbucks or in the parking lot until closer to class time. But it's worth it for these classes, I'm happy with this studio and am glad I found it!! read more

I found extendYoga on Yelp and wanted to give them a try. I'm happy with the place I normally frequent, but I wanted to shake things up a little. Upon entering the studio, I was greeted with a friendly smile and offered a new student special.. $20 for 2 weeks unlimited classes. Not too shabby. Of course I signed up and I've been to two classes so far. I'm intermediate level (been practicing for 10+ years) and the all levels flow classes are challenging. That said, don't be discouraged if you're newer to yoga.. just go at your own pace and do what feels good for your own body. The space is super relaxing, there are two restrooms, storage for your personal items and they provide complimentary tea/water. Plenty of parking & they offer a good variety of classes, including hot yoga. If you're not familiar with the area, getting here can be a little tricky. They're located in a slightly industrial part of N.Bethesda so allow extra time to find your way :) read more

What a gem of a studio! After months of looking for a yoga studio near Rockville/Bethesda area, I decided on Extend Yoga mainly from the helpful on-line reviews. From the moment I walked into the studio, I knew it was the right choice - it's a welcoming place that just feels right. ExtendYoga offers plenty of classes and is never short on talented instructors. I began my yoga journey at Bikram studios so naturally I was thrilled to try hot yoga at EY. One of my favorites is Jan for heated yoga. She leads a high-energy class with synchronized moves to motivating cool music, which really makes the practice challenging and fun. A class with Jarrad is also a must. He is friendly, greets everyone in the class, and aims to have fun with yoga. His outgoing and likeable personality make the class even more relaxing and enjoyable. As a newcomer to vinyasa yoga, I rely on Jarrad's classes to help refine my practice as he leads the class with clear, step-by-step instructions through each posture, including coordinating the movement with proper breathing. She said just being in the front lounge area made her feel comfortable and relaxed (True story!) The details: Extendyoga is a green (eco-friendly) two-room studio that offers both heated and non-heated classes, workshops (check out the Pints and Poses workshops at 7 Locks Brewing across the street), $5 Friday classes (which do fill up), and a store that sells everything from yoga pants to snack bars, mala beads and locally created gifts and goodies. What I like and appreciate about extendYoga is its sense of "community." This is one of the few yoga studios that consistently offers community classes ($5 or $10) to its members. A number of studios these days are very profit driven and it is all about the bottom line, but one doesn't get that sense from extendYoga. Yoga should be ideally be affordable, but I also understand that it is not easy for studio owners to sustain in a very competitive market. Which is why I appreciate this studio's attempt at "giving back" to its community by offering these low cost classes. The one drawback is the location. It is not easily accessible, and for me, it is quite a long drive. If I have live closer, this would definitely be my "home" studio. People are friendly, the space is clean and neat, and it is definitely not intimidating for those who are new to the practice. I started coming here after moving to Rockville after living in the DC area for the last 5+ years. I had been bouncing between studios and really needed to find a 'home studio'. This studio is less than 10 minutes driving from my house so it's really convenient and the membership pricing is pretty fair for the area we live in. It's actually more than I've paid for any membership (even when I lived in DC with the 'yoga tax'), but the teachers are really good here. I especially love TanO, Allison and Lika's classes. Each of them have their teaching style and I gather something from each of them every time I go to a class - whether it's thinking about something different, or getting into an asana. I do wish there were more class offerings, like rocket yoga and/or morning classes. There are no rocket yoga classes in the Rockville/Bethesda area and I miss the rocket community in DC. read more

This is by far my favorite yoga studio in the area! Between the beautiful and serene atmosphere and the top-notch customer service AND the best yoga instructors I've ever been to, I can go on and on. I love when I enter the studio and Yogi greets me with warmth and enthusiasm and makes me feel right at home. I frequent Lauren's class on Friday mornings as much as possible. It's a truly a transformative, grounding, empowering and cleansing class. I love love love the heat and the thoughtful care that Lauren puts into every class she teaches. I also love Tano's workshop/class on Saturdays. What a unique and amazing blend of yoga, meditation and discussion. He's a really exceptional Instructor. I always learn a lot in his classes. The location is nice and tucked away from the craziness of Rockville pike. The prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality of the experience.
