My favorite local studio! All the teachers are wonderful and it's very welcoming. Highly recommend :)

Very knowledgeable instructors, who lead challenging sessions, with modifications if you need them. I always feel good when class is done.

Love coming here. Clean, bright, welcoming space where everyone knows your name. I like the range of classes from restorative to extremely athletic. Pricing is very reasonable. Periodic workshops are excellent also. read more

This studio has a lot to offer. And not just the variety of classes-- the whole mo-jo of the studio is up-lifting. I haven't attended any of the special workshops yet, but there is variety there, too, that I want to check out. And the little shopping they offer is great. Not pushy. read more

Great studio. I got a $30 for two weeks beginner special, fantastic. Some of the classes are too advanced for me. So, definitely ask questions and make sure you know what you are in for. The studio is beautiful and parking is easy. They have both in person and virtual classes. read more

I've been told amazing things about this studio by friends and finally gathered myself to check it out. I'm not much of a group/class workout person so it took me a while to go... I dropped in one Friday for the $5 12pm class and haven't looked back since. I've been every Friday since!! Long story short turns out you don't have to be a class person to enjoy this studio, it's clean, friendly, and energetic! I am so refreshed each time after practicing with Steph she really brings the FUN!! I love that I fought my initial thoughts and gathered myself to go- I'm not looking back!! read more

Extend Yoga is THE place to go for yoga! I love the energy, the classes, the instructors, the offerings--everything from A to Z. No matter what class I take, I feel challenged and at peace in my body and mind. Many instructors begin with intention setting, breath work, and affirmations; they set the studio up in perfect balance. The flows are fluid, intentional, and just right. I love the monthly artists that they host as well. Compassion, kindness, connection, and community live within the walls of Extend Yoga. read more

I love this studio. Did my 200 hour training here, have made lifelong friends and love that they have something for everyone.

Absolutely love the yoga studio! I've been very very picky with yoga studios and the vibes they output because I've had traumatizing experience at a yoga studio in Annapolis. But this studio has been everything I've wanted and more. The studio is so welcoming. The yoga instructors are great, knowledgeable, and inclusive! They have a commitment to community which aligns with what yoga means to me. They have repped series supporting diverse communities and folx. I would absolutely recommend you to try out this studio! read more

Beautiful Studio! Fierce Yoga Teachers! Calm Atmosphere! Lots of Free Classes! ExtendYoga notably received the Best in Bethesda Award! ‍

Extend Yoga is by far the best yoga studio I've been to in the area. Every teacher is extremely knowledgable and every class leaves you feeling amazing. I appreciate that they offer a variety of classes every day of the week for all levels. I also love that they have different local artwork featured each month and they organize community building events (volunteer road cleanup, plant swap, winter coat drive, etc.). The teachers and staff are so welcoming and friendly and the studio is beautiful and clean. read more

Best yoga studio ever. I go there every week. All instructors are amazing. Highly recommended

Updated review from 2013: I find myself a few years older with more miles logged driving a vehicle than perhaps I'd otherwise wish. Cue extendYoga. I wanted a place in Bethesda where I could sign up for a 10-class pass without any hard commitment. Cue extendYoga. They offer a 10-class pass for under $20/class and a 1-year fulfillment timeline. Talk about flexibility! They offer a variety of classes and styles, and their schedule is perfect for that 6/7pm class. Teachers come as varied as you might expect, but all know how to teach, if thar makes sense. Clean studio, good prices, good teachers. read more

I knew I loved Extend Yoga when I saw that they keep a supply of hair bands, bobby pins and hygiene products in the bathroom. I started in hot yoga studios years ago and so appreciate that they offer this type of class there at least once a week (if not more) so every so often I get my sweat on and wring out. The teachers are friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. Also, the lighting and music are conducive to eliciting a meditative and focused state for doing asanas. Five stars read more

love this studio! I have been going for almost a year now and really love all the teachers and the studio's dedication to inclusivity.

extendYoga is amazing! All the teachers are so well informed and have really creative flows. The space is well maintained and extremely clean. I love that they have socially aware programming and are engaged with the local community. So lucky to have found this gem! read more

I have done some 'yoga studio shopping' with all those Groupon/Living Social-esque deals and so have been to a few studios in the area. I just purchased a summer package with ExtendYoga and I really like this studio because: - Heated and Hot Yoga - but not too hot!! Bikram Yoga was way too hot for me, but the heated classes here are just right :) Bring a towel, drink lots of water and get ready to sweat! - Super easy to use online scheduler with flexible cancellation policy. Frequently updated schedule. Sometimes they offer babysitting for certain classes, which is a nice touch that I've noticed. - Deals - whether it's $5 Fridays, or the 'pay what you can' classes for charity, or their monthly specials for teachers or students, they make it affordable to try out the studio. - Offering some 75 minutes classes is a great plus! It's a very clean and simple studio, and everyone there is really nice. Plenty of parking. My only personal complaint is that trying to get to the studio and crossing Montrose Rd/Rockvile Pike is crazy during rush hour timing, so, like for a 5:30 class, I sometimes leave home way in advance and read at Starbucks or in the parking lot until closer to class time. But it's worth it for these classes, I'm happy with this studio and am glad I found it!! read more

I found extendYoga on Yelp and wanted to give them a try. I'm happy with the place I normally frequent, but I wanted to shake things up a little. Upon entering the studio, I was greeted with a friendly smile and offered a new student special.. $20 for 2 weeks unlimited classes. Not too shabby. Of course I signed up and I've been to two classes so far. I'm intermediate level (been practicing for 10+ years) and the all levels flow classes are challenging. That said, don't be discouraged if you're newer to yoga.. just go at your own pace and do what feels good for your own body. The space is super relaxing, there are two restrooms, storage for your personal items and they provide complimentary tea/water. Plenty of parking & they offer a good variety of classes, including hot yoga. If you're not familiar with the area, getting here can be a little tricky. They're located in a slightly industrial part of N.Bethesda so allow extra time to find your way :) read more

I've been super impressed with every class that I've ever taken here. The instructors are all awesome and are amazing at offering adaptive poses to ensure that everyone can practice safely regardless of their ability or skill level. Be sure to get there early- parking is limited! read more

Practicing at extend yoga has brought so much more happiness into my life than I had before being a part of this wonderful community! The number and variety of classes and teachers Make it so there is a class for everyone at all levels. They always have super cute merchandise in their shop. And you can even unwind after class with a cup of their free delicious tea! I couldn't recommend this studio more! read more

What a gem of a studio! After months of looking for a yoga studio near Rockville/Bethesda area, I decided on Extend Yoga mainly from the helpful on-line reviews. From the moment I walked into the studio, I knew it was the right choice - it's a welcoming place that just feels right. ExtendYoga offers plenty of classes and is never short on talented instructors. I began my yoga journey at Bikram studios so naturally I was thrilled to try hot yoga at EY. One of my favorites is Jan for heated yoga. She leads a high-energy class with synchronized moves to motivating cool music, which really makes the practice challenging and fun. A class with Jarrad is also a must. He is friendly, greets everyone in the class, and aims to have fun with yoga. His outgoing and likeable personality make the class even more relaxing and enjoyable. As a newcomer to vinyasa yoga, I rely on Jarrad's classes to help refine my practice as he leads the class with clear, step-by-step instructions through each posture, including coordinating the movement with proper breathing. It's all coming together. Thank you Arlet and ExtendYoga read more

extendYoga - Yoga Near Me - Rockville, Maryland

I've been coming to Extend for about 5 years but it feels like so much longer. And it's a good thing because Arlet (the owner) and the community are so welcoming and friendly. Even when I was away for school, I always stopped into Extend when I was in town. I even had a friend come to take a class, but she wasn't feeling well so she just sat in the lobby. She said just being in the front lounge area made her feel comfortable and relaxed (True story!) The details: Extendyoga is a green (eco-friendly) two-room studio that offers both heated and non-heated classes, workshops (check out the Pints and Poses workshops at 7 Locks Brewing across the street), $5 Friday classes (which do fill up), and a store that sells everything from yoga pants to snack bars, mala beads and locally created gifts and goodies. Go! Take a class, meet new people, it's such an inviting place. read more

What I like and appreciate about extendYoga is its sense of "community." This is one of the few yoga studios that consistently offers community classes ($5 or $10) to its members. A number of studios these days are very profit driven and it is all about the bottom line, but one doesn't get that sense from extendYoga. Yoga should be ideally be affordable, but I also understand that it is not easy for studio owners to sustain in a very competitive market. Which is why I appreciate this studio's attempt at "giving back" to its community by offering these low cost classes. The one drawback is the location. It is not easily accessible, and for me, it is quite a long drive. If I have live closer, this would definitely be my "home" studio. People are friendly, the space is clean and neat, and it is definitely not intimidating for those who are new to the practice. Did I mention that extendYoga gives a complimentary class on your birthday? Now, THAT is super rare and unheard of. read more

I started coming here after moving to Rockville after living in the DC area for the last 5+ years. I had been bouncing between studios and really needed to find a 'home studio'. This studio is less than 10 minutes driving from my house so it's really convenient and the membership pricing is pretty fair for the area we live in. It's actually more than I've paid for any membership (even when I lived in DC with the 'yoga tax'), but the teachers are really good here. I especially love TanO, Allison and Lika's classes. Each of them have their teaching style and I gather something from each of them every time I go to a class - whether it's thinking about something different, or getting into an asana. I do wish there were more class offerings, like rocket yoga and/or morning classes. There are no rocket yoga classes in the Rockville/Bethesda area and I miss the rocket community in DC. read more

extendYoga is my favorite studio in the Rockville area (I drive there from Silver Spring!) and provides many different opportunities for a variety of levels. I appreciate that there are classes in the afternoon as well as early morning so I can find the right fit based on my work schedule. If you are a yogi who has injuries or prefers not to have hands on assists, make sure to talk to your instructor at the beginning of class. Arrive early to secure parking and your preferred spot in the studio. read more

This is by far my favorite yoga studio in the area! Between the beautiful and serene atmosphere and the top-notch customer service AND the best yoga instructors I've ever been to, I can go on and on. I love when I enter the studio and Yogi greets me with warmth and enthusiasm and makes me feel right at home. I frequent Lauren's class on Friday mornings as much as possible. It's a truly a transformative, grounding, empowering and cleansing class. I love love love the heat and the thoughtful care that Lauren puts into every class she teaches. I also love Tano's workshop/class on Saturdays. What a unique and amazing blend of yoga, meditation and discussion. He's a really exceptional Instructor. I always learn a lot in his classes. The location is nice and tucked away from the craziness of Rockville pike. The prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality of the experience. Parking can be limited depending on the time of day and if the class if full. Allow extra time to find parking and settle in before your amazing practice. read more

I was actually prescribed yoga by my Dr. It helped with my left leg lost feeling and it accidentally helped me lose 10 lbs.(making me at my target weight.) I have done all types if classes with many different instructors. Never had a bad experience. It all started with a promo they had for first time clients. 2 weeks UNLIMITED classes for $20.00 best money I ever spent. I took 15 classes in those 2 weeks and I have never felt better and stronger in my life. I have a degenerative medical condition. I will try anything to stay healthy. I take 2 classes a day on the days I am well enough. I will also mention, I have no idea what the hot yoga classes are like. I have an issue with heat, even a hot tub will cause an asthma attack. So I just stick to the classes I can take. I was also give modified moves to stretch but in a different was as to not strain my neck or lower back. All instructors have there own ways. Jarred, Sarah, Lika and Stephanie are the instructor I have the most. I like the slower, intro/beginner classes and them slightly faster passed classes. I try to make sure I attend a fast and a slow on doubled up classes days. They have both helped me get my mind and body in order, after a lose in my family and walking out of an abusive workplace, on same day. Yoga helped me realize my health is more important than being in a situation that drags you down. Thank you all for that. I don't think I would ever just walk out a job, ever, until I had the courage to stand up for myself. read more
