I first took the yoga sculpt (not heated) class and got a great workout. They offer an essential oil disinfectant spray for your mats. One thing that makes this place different is their humidifier in the room. It's massive and makes a huge difference so I'm excited to get a hot class in soon. Tip: make sure to bring your own towel to clean your mat since they're eco-friendly and don't have disposable towels. They accept classpass but they're doing a special for Black Friday 11/28-30. Parking- there's street parking out front and thankfully I found a spot up the street.

Chula Vista Yoga Center had classes that fit well for my schedule while I was in town, so I called it my home studio for the weekend. Signing up for the classes and checking in were a breeze. The studio was gorgeous, and I loved the inspiring wall murals and paintings inside the space. If I was local, I would certainly attend the monthly offerings including workshops, sound healing events, etc. I enjoyed the two classes I was able to take. Both classes were heated, and the teachers were awesome. For my first class I took Andre's Ashtanga class on Thursday at 10:30am. I used to practice Ashtanga regularly, so taking the class was like riding a bike. Andre modified the primary sequence, so I thought it was very accessible to yogis of all levels. The other class I was able to take over the weekend was Jackie's vinyasa flow at 8am on Saturday. She had such a creative, challenging flow and introduced an asana I've never done before. Lastly, customer service was excellent. The two front desk receptionist who assisted me on both days were very friendly and helpful.

I appreciate all 3 instructors. The studio is the perfect size, has mats and everything necessary for a beginning student (a yogi?). Updating my review…read more Tyler and Sam reached out to me upon reading my review and graciously offered to make up an instructor no-showing by comping their $30/30 days special. This alone speaks volumes of how much they care about their business and the community. After taking 2-4 classes a week for the past 4 weeks, I can say they absolutely deserve 5 stars. There is a separate restroom down the hall which has a code for extra security/privacy. Their studio is clean, smells great, and offers beautiful views and vibes both during the day and night. I love the view of the mountains during the day and the natural light. At night, depending on which class you take, you could partake in a candle lit class, a cool color-changing class, sound bath classes, and more. I have taken classes with Sam, Alyssa, Keshia, and Jen. They all offer a unique experience and I enjoyed each of them in a different way. So much variety AND time slots, you are sure to find what you need. From slow flows, to sculpt classes (fun!), to sound bath/meditative classes, and even mat pilates. So many options. I really enjoy hot classes and I believe they only offer hot classes on Saturdays (they do offer warm classes throughout the week though!) They are close enough to the Trolley Station where you can easily get a smoothie or quick bite before or after class, but far enough so parking is never a problem. Perfect location. I came across their studio through ClassPass and so glad I did. I am the type that enjoys both "personal" studios and "commercial" studios for separate reasons. If you like personal studios, I'd highly recommend The Balanced Yogi. Be a part of the family and enjoy the opportunity of growing with their teachers on their journeys.
