Wtf
Trinnie W.

Sweet Boyfriend surprised me with an Uber eats delivery since I work from home. Only order from here if you are desperate for food and they are the only ones open... quality is terrible. Our beef terriyaki tasted super salty, texture of cardboard - why is it so hard to chew and thin at the same time? just overall gross. Reminded me of chiclet gum. You know when you've chewed the gum for hours and it turns insanely hard? Their California roll is also too salty? How do they even mess up a CALI ROLL? Their mayo to imitation crab ratio is way off. Sashimi = fish is NOT FRESH. I can tell by the stench and temperature of the fish... so disappointed. It was prepared poorly as the box seemed shaken up? There was black stuff on the tuna.

Excellent food, service is always 10/10 and the vibes inside always good. Will always come back here.

Lets see what they got !

Well , a lil late but here we go. First impression "cool cozy sushi place ". Well . Seems they cut their menu and combos, and they do not honor any coupons or anything from yelp. Once we ordered And sat down we notice , Very very dirty place , i was having second thoughts , dont even wanna see what the kitchen looks like?!?! Over all food was subpar edible but below standard, will nit be back , Note, they didn't even wipe down the table i had to do it and when i did the table changed from off white to napkin white , GROSS!!!!

Horrible, cheap quality food! I came here with co-workers for lunch and was so disappointed. I had been here pre-COVID and it was not that bad. Not great but not bad so I didn't want to complain when my friends suggested it. First of all it is expensive!! I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box for $13.00. Any meat upgrade, like salmon or other is an additional $5.00!!! The roll prices are outrageous. Anyhow we dined in and we got our food in styrofoam to go containers. I opened my box and could immediately tell the quality of the chicken was poor. I ate 2 of the 4 pieces of sushi out of fear of getting sick and I didn't touch the 4 pieces of California rolls crammed in a corner of a box filled with stale white rice. I threw most of the food away and left hungry. The owner of the restaurant is very nice but seemed shocked and upset when my friend asked for more tempura sauce. Do not waste your money here. Oh and many of the good review here are fake. Take a good look at the profiles of the good reviews. Or save yourself time and money and trust my review.

Best sushi in Santa Ana ! I drive 45 min to eat there even though there's other sushi spots around , literally the cutest mom and pop shop ! My go to is shrimp chow mein , Definitely recommend 10/10 ! Golden tiger roll & baked crawfish roll are . Sweetest business owners you'll ever meet ! Great spot for a date !

Cajun Tuna Tataki

The decor of the place really invited us into this realm of urban ambience similar to that of Shibuya, Japan. Service was excellent and informative in regards to requests as well as orders. My friend and I ordered the Garlic Edamame and Cajun Tuna Tataki both of which were delicious, the sauce was just right and so savory; excellent starters that didn't overwhelm our palates. In addition, we also ordered White Fish Roll and the Crispy Craw roll, both were amazing and satisfying. To top it off, the presentation was fantastic.

Cockroach infestation

Wow. Unbelievable rudeness here. If you want to be nickel and dimed here over crap sushi make sure to stop by. This place is covered in mismatching crap filled with dust and probably hides roach nests. There's so much stuff everywhere that there's most likely covering rat droppings because there's no way to clean it all. This place has a dirty smell like the restaurant hasn't been cleaned since it opened. This person Johnny is also prejudice against handicapped people. Not only did he question my handicapped placard (which he took a picture of) his restaurant is absolutely no way handicap accessible. He threatened to report me, go ahead Johnny. Maybe you should welcome your guests and not have a chip on your shoulder because nobody wants your disgusting over priced sushi.

SC4. Sushi and Hand Roll Combo + SC1. Sushi Combo (Two Speciality Roll) R13. Albacore Delight Roll Special & R26. Tiger Roll .

Yo! Sushi in Santa Ana is a hole in the wall diamond in the rough sushi joint. From the outside it can look intimidating with the signs and decor presenting as splattered signs, license plates, soccer advertisements and art pieces. This is what gives this place character! The prices here for the amount of sushi and fish cuts they give you can't be beat! I ordered the Two Hand Roll + 6 piece Sashimi ($12.95) that the sushi chef allowed me to customize but usually it's chef choice, but either way the portion size is worth it! My girlfriend ordered the two specialty roll combo that came with two rolls and a free soda. We split the rolls due to the size of them and that my girlfriend has a small stomach when it comes to sushi. We ordered the Albacore Delight Roll & the Tiger Roll that came with a free soda all for ($17.95). The rolls were MASSIVE and great portion size! The quality of the sushi was delicious! The plating of the sushi on the wooden boats were also quite elegant because it felt like you were ballin out getting sushi boats for individualized orders. The service we got from Ilene was top notch as well. She was welcoming, quick with our orders, great with maintaining refills, was nice to talk to, and offered suggestions. She was a great waitress that made this place even more of a 5 star experience. While the vibe is a hole in the wall type of establishment you can't go wrong here! The portion size is amazing for the price, the service is phenomenal, and the quality in taste is gold! We are definitely going to come back!

Chirashi
Kunous K.

Ordered a chirashi as usual... it looks good, but when I dig in I find a couple pieces of salmon and tuna only, the rest of bowl is spicy tuna melt, veg, sea weed, a piece of eel, oh, and there is a tempura shrimp too... so on the other word, there is not much variety of fish, everything is "roll" related. Service is good, and surprisingly they have TV showing the UEFA game... which give them an extra star...

The combo of fresh fish, tangy ponzu, and a little baby cilantro tied everything together perfectly. It's easily one of my top rolls ever, and I'd come back just for that. We got there at 5:45pm and it was already semi packed with several tables already reserved. Ambience is nice, restaurant is clean and spacious. Service was good. As a walk-in we got seated right away at the end of the bar, which was fine (since we wanted to sit at the bar) and hadn't made reservations. Note this is a review for what I would call a tier 2 sushi joint. I consider tier 1 to be more omakase style and/or premium Michelin star type venues. We enjoyed everything, especially the uni toro spoon. The hand rolls and rolls are filling so it's a great value for your money. We had hot sake and Kirin. Was able to catch the last few minutes of the happy hour menu - Sky special & hot sake. We ordered the following for 2: Tinker Bell hand roll, crispy rice spicy tuna, Sky's special, Bubble Bee roll, triple belly sashimi, seared salmon belly carpaccio, black cod sushi, Nodoguro (white fish) sushi, unagi hand roll, salmon skin hand roll, uni toro spoon (my favorite)! Would come back again to enjoy your everyday typical tier 2 style sushi. Tier 1 sushi is typically saved for special occasions.

This was…read moreactually the first place where I was introduced to shabu shabu, and it's what started my love for this type of food. I remember it being really affordable back then, but of course prices have gone up over the years. These days, the cheapest small size is around $22-$24, which isn't shocking with inflation and higher wages. One thing that hasn't changed, though, is the tiny cup of ice cream they give you at the end of the meal, which is a nice little touch. The seating is all bar-style, which can feel a bit overwhelming if you're an introvert like me and prefer having your own space. That said, it's not uncomfortable. People mostly keep to themselves, and the servers don't bother you much either. They'll check in once in a while to see if you need anything, but they're not constantly hovering. What really stands out to me about this place is the goma sauce. When it's done right, it's seriously good--rich, nutty, and super flavorful. Honestly, it's one of the best goma sauces I've had, and it makes the whole meal that much better. Even after all this time, that sauce alone reminds me why this place left such a strong impression on me in the first place.

We came with reservations on Saturday night before Mother's Day. The first thing I thought when I walked in was that there was a live band playing with bad speakers because the music was so loud. But when I saw there was no band, I thought maybe their speakers were broken because the music had that scratchiness to it. Then I realized it was a DJ spinning vinyls with foreign music from the 1950's with that scratchy vintage sound on full blast (think shrill trumpets and shrill voices.) Now don't get me wrong, the music was wonderful and very unique ( again, a lot of foreign songs) with a few I even knew...my husband and I loved most of the songs that were played. HOWEVER not when it's so loud that we can't even hear our own thoughts! I felt annoyed within the first 5 minutes of being seated when my family and I had to keep repeating ourselves, and my husband even went to check the rest of the place to see if it was any quieter anywhere else, but it was blaring music everywhere. I ended up ordering for my whole table of 8 people because we couldn't even hear each other over the music to make suggestions on what to order. My adult kids (all in their 20's) kept apologizing for recommending this place for my mother's day dinner. But oh my, the food was delicious---practically everything I ordered was amazing! OMG the hangar steak skewers, pork belly skewers, iberico pork secreto steak, little gem salad, and their bread with goatmilk -butter were my faves! We also had the short ribs and the pork fried rice with prawns but they were mid...nothing to write home about. This would've been a great place to come have a drink at the bar for happy hour or even late at night on a weekend since they open until 1am on thursday, friday, saturday... but don't come for dinner unless you bring earplugs and learn sign language or know how to read lips because there will be no conversations over dinner unless it's just to the person sitting next to you. Even so, I noticed the young couple next to us looking very annoyed-- they got up and left after quickly finishing up their one cocktail while the speakers blared out an instrumental piece of a girl moaning the whole time until she climaxed. Heck---I'll have whatever SHE'S having lol So plz keep the music down several notches until after 10pm, and let the rest of us enjoy our dinner so that we can sing praises on how delicious everything was. Until you do, I think I'll cross this place off my list for now and revisit again sometime in the FAR future.
