I was excited to see yo sushi come to Belfast. I'd tried it in London and Dublin and remembered it being quite lovely. The Belfast branch is laid out on one floor with the main feature being a sushi train. You can order from a menu or select from the conveyor belt. The coloured plates indicate the different prices which is handy to keep an eye on how much you are spending. Each seated station gets still and sparkling water taps that you pay £1.70 for unlimited supply. The staff are ok, they take drinks order then let you get on yourself. If you want more service get ready to wave your hand in the air for a while :/ As for the food, it's grand. I've had much better sushi for better prices but the novelty of the train and seating will keep it busy. Most plates come with only two pieces that cost around £2.90. Given I'm a starvo(I weight train is usually my excuse) I tend to build a steady mountain of plates that end up costing a fortune. The takeaway is much better value and you can pretend the 5 trays you got aren't all for you! Ha!

A grand wee Place, popped in here with my mate one night, totally unplanned , we where actually heading to Thompson's Nightclub lol just seen it & fancied trying it, it was absolutely delicious, had salmon, fried duck, tuna, etc... Had some lovely wee strawberry cheesecake balls at the end all in all spent £26, only £2.70 a dish so we'd had plenty lol also tried a wee bit of warm sake, wasn't my cupa tea like but everything else & the mineral waters were fantastic Well worth the money, Visit!

For a restaurant that is somewhat of a novelty, the food was really good. Everything is made fresh before your eyes and once you get a hang of what things are you can pick and choose them as they come by on the conveyor belt. Lots to choose from including a lot of fresh fish options. The atmosphere is great and certainly offers something different to the usual meal out. I will go back to try the many other intriguing dishes I missed the first time round. Some of the dishes can be pricey for the portion so go there with an open mind to try something new that is worth a little more money.

Custard filled Pancakes with raspberry coulis. You'll probably have to order these as they get snapped up quickly on the belt

To be honest, I wasn't really sure what to expect, this was my first time going and whilst she had been before once, it was for a totally different class. Our host for the evening, Stephen Jeffers, was excellent. Witty, informative, completely open to questioning, the man knows what he's doing and it is genuinely exciting when you taste his food and can compare yours afterwards. Really shows how much effort and love is put into their cookery. So. We got to kill a lobster the correct way, which is knowledge that will stick with me forever, mainly because I underwent a short crisis beforehand trying to make up my mind as to whether I could murder the poor thing. Make two delicious dishes (a fancy Lobster Mac & Cheese, then a simple cooked lobster tail, served in the lobster shell with salad and delicious potatoes that were made by one of Stephen's assistants. Did I mention the wine? There was a lot of wine. And prosecco. So don't be thinking of going for drinks beforehand or afterwards, there'll be no need for it. Overall, excellent night. Great fun. Great banter. Great value for money and teaches you some core cookery knowledge that you won't forget.

They host a whole range of different classes including things like Asian Street food; Italian cooking; bread - making; Spanish cooking; desserts and dinner parties. Stephen Jeffers is the head chef who teaches you the skills to make the dishes on a demo bench at the front. Always welcomes as many questions that you can throw at him and very knowledgeable from working for years in the industry. He's very approachable too which is always important I recently tried the Asian cooking class where we made Crispy Yang Yang Beef for starter - super tasty!! So quick and easy to make. I've tried it myself at home since and managed to get the same result again:) For main, we made a Thai Red Curry with prawn and pinapple..my mouth's watering as I write this thinking of it! Red & White wine is provided (or a selection of soft drinks) to enjoy with your creations. One of the best parts is that after you finish cooking each dish, you immediately take a seat at the table with everyone to enjoy what you've made, whilst all the washing up is done by the school's staff!

Choice available for table seating or for "bar" seating (at the conveyor belt). The wait staff spoke mainland Chinese. Menu is in English and Chinese (but not Japanese). Being a sushi bar the vegetarian options did initially appear a little limited and sadly Sakura do not have a separate, dedicated vegetarian menu which is unfortunate. However, our waiter did advise us that the Chefs could do any dish on the menu as vegetarian, so that was a huge bonus. Nonetheless, clearer 'suitable for vegetarian' labelling on the menu would help. We opted for deep fried avocado and tofu tempura roll starters and mains of stir fried ramen noodles with mixed vegetables. The food as absolutely delicious and fresh tasting, wine (pinot grigio) lovely and service impeccable. I did notice a 'Chinese Kitchen' section towards the back of the main menu which included options of mixed vegetables with black bean, Szechuan, satay and salt and chilli sauces. I'm looking forward to a return visit and to trying out Sakura's lunch and take away menus as the food was scrumptious. Plus the restaurant itself is beautiful with Japanese décor, relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices.
