I didn't buy camera equipment here but I was in dire need of a last minute large print for my mother's memorial service. I talked to the team on the phone, sent the file via email, and they had the perfectly-cropped print ready for pick-up within 90 minutes. They even helped cut the print and fit it into a frame I bought elsewhere. It looks outstanding. Truly a class act and a fantastic locally-owned business with a great group of employees. You can't get this level of personalized service from Kinko's or FedEx. They've earned my business for anything camera- or print-related in the future. read more

Can't say how grateful I am for this business. My mother passed away and we wanted to have a slide show for the calling hours and funeral. Someone suggested we go to CVS and make one. My sister and I spent an hour there, the employees had to look up how to work the machine to make the disc and after we uploaded the photos, we were told they did not load correctly. That was enough for me and the next day I went to YM. They advised they could make the CD for me and it would be ready in a few days. I explained why I needed it and asked if it could be ready the next day, they said they could do it. My sister and I were so grateful, with all that needed done, we were really appreciated them taking care of it. The slide show was great and we had a portrait done, which was also beautiful. YM camera is a family owned full service camera store. They know what they're doing. They stock a lot of products you can get from those cold, far away corporation, they price them the same, and by buying from them you are supporting a small (but solid) local business in the process. Staff went out of their way to provide customized sample pics that helped me decide. Very helpful and patient with transaction delay caused by me. Great packaging, shipping and price. We have purchased and traded Nikon, Fujifilm, and Panasonic gear. They are always accommodating, no matter how many hoops we ask them to clear. I really don't understand why YM isn't rated 5 stars by everyone. The owner is usually on site, and every member of the staff I have interacted with knows their trade. YM rents out gear for all platforms, and they have a huge selection of new and used gear. Their prices are great for a small brick and mortar store, and I would support a local mom n' pop shop before a big box store any day of the week. There are so few dedicated camera shops left, and it is unfortunate to see them go. You can never find the expertise and professionalism at large chain stores, and I have never had anything but a great experience with this crew. YM is also always doing community contests and workshops to engage the hobbyist and help the novice learn their gear and how to best utilize their equipment, both pre and post shooting. I met Robby on a Facebook post for a camera that I wanted (Canon R5). Originally I had ordered the camera through Canon directly. I come to find out that even though the site and my receipt said the camera was in stock, it turns out that it was back ordered. To my luck, Robby was there to save the day. Not only did he have the camera I wanted in stock, he also had a lens that I wanted. I live in California and Robby made sure that I got my gear quickly and safely in 2 days! Expensive but a very professional organization. I gave them an old black and white photo and they improved it. I recommend them.

I have had trouble having them teach me how to use my camera. It took three trips to find someone that new how to show me how to use my Camera. Finally, the owner did a good job showing me how to use it, but he didn't seem happy about it. I think if you get a better price somewhere else I would get it. The lack of service is not worth paying more for a camera. read more

I've been to this store more times than I can count. Here's why: I joined a friend on Monday who was interested in purchasing a Profoto Flash ($1K, not typically an impulse purchase, right?). My friend called ahead to see if they were in stock (they were coming in a FedEx truck), so Robby set us up with Grant (young, brilliant, enthusiastic) who spent A HALF AN HOUR WITH US TO SHOW US HOW TO USE THE TECHNOLOGICALLY SUPERIOR FLASH. Thirty minutes! I had no intention of buying one, but Grant's training convinced me. I can't help but spend money in this store, and everything I buy - even though I had no idea I needed it - is something I cannot live without. Why? Since getting into the digital age, I have purchased all my equipment from YM Camera. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always eager to answer any question. They carry a wide selection of camera bodies and lenses so whatever you shoot, they have your brand. Their printing is of the highest quality. They hold great classes and workshops. Many of my friends wonder why I won't buy my equipment from the internet to save tax but it is worth it to me for the excellent service I get before and after a purchase from YM. In my experience they care more about the sale than what is actually best for the client.
