***** 5 STARS ! I want to start off by saying that I do not normally "Do reviews" but when I am happy with a place, I can be a very "Loyal" customer - But I do demand excellence. I was recommended to YM Camera by NIKON when my usual vender of 45 YEARS did not have the lens, I desperately needed...in fact few in the country had that lens in stock... covid-19 DELAYS... Anyway, YM camera was listed as a recommended vender, they had the lens I wanted, and I was immediately on the phone ordering the lens... (I wanted to make sure it was in fact "In Stock"... It was) - I had a few last-minute questions which were answered immediately by the owner who possessed a wealth of information ... and I ordered the lens right away - OVER NIGHT UPS... (18-hour delivery delay due to the snowstorm - Beyond anyone's control) ... Well, I got it - WHAT A FANTASTIC PIECE OF GLASS! - My entire experience with YM Camera (Knowledge-Price-Service-Promptness) was outstanding and they now have a new "Loyal" Customer (And that is not easy to get out of me!) ...THANK YOU! ~Christopher Specht FamilyScans.com FAMILY SCANS Digital Solutions for an Analogue Past FBSales@FamilyScans.com 4217 SE 19th Ave, Unit 209 Cape Coral, FL 33904 (239) 299-8400 read more

Highly skilled professionals. Amazing selection of camera products. Reasonable prices.

Can't say how grateful I am for this business. My mother passed away and we wanted to have a slide show for the calling hours and funeral. Someone suggested we go to CVS and make one. My sister and I spent an hour there, the employees had to look up how to work the machine to make the disc and after we uploaded the photos, we were told they did not load correctly. That was enough for me and the next day I went to YM. They advised they could make the CD for me and it would be ready in a few days. I explained why I needed it and asked if it could be ready the next day, they said they could do it. My sister and I were so grateful, with all that needed done, we were really appreciated them taking care of it. The slide show was great and we had a portrait done, which was also beautiful. This is why you support small businesses because they support you. read more

I didn't buy camera equipment here but I was in dire need of a last minute large print for my mother's memorial service. I talked to the team on the phone, sent the file via email, and they had the perfectly-cropped print ready for pick-up within 90 minutes. They even helped cut the print and fit it into a frame I bought elsewhere. It looks outstanding. Truly a class act and a fantastic locally-owned business with a great group of employees. You can't get this level of personalized service from Kinko's or FedEx. They've earned my business for anything camera- or print-related in the future. read more

Absolutely true professionals. New to the photography world and they treated me as if I've been shooting for years. Took the time to show me everything I needed and helped set me up. One of the best shops around. read more

YM camera is a family owned full service camera store. They know what they're doing. They stock a lot of products you can get from those cold, far away corporation, they price them the same, and by buying from them you are supporting a small (but solid) local business in the process. I can't recommend this place highly enough. 4 thumbs up! read more

I found YM Camera had a lens I had been looking for years for. (by the extra effort post to a forum I frequent). The price point was right where I needed it. Staff went out of their way to provide customized sample pics that helped me decide. Very helpful and patient with transaction delay caused by me. Great packaging, shipping and price. Will be on my list of places to check when another need arises. read more

We always enjoy our visits to YM Camera! The people are passionate about their business and know what it means to be customer-centric! We have purchased and traded Nikon, Fujifilm, and Panasonic gear. They are always accommodating, no matter how many hoops we ask them to clear. When technical issues arrived, they helped us or contacted the manufacturers on our behalf. They even put us in touch with other photographers and camera ambassadors. We have shopped in Atlanta, NYC, Cleveland, and Youngstown. There is no better place to do business than YM Camera! My wife said it best, those people have integrity!!! read more

YM Camera has actual photographers on staff to help you do anything from selecting the right equipment for your needs to taking an old b&w photo and enhancing it. I'm always impressed with the service when I walk in the door. If you're looking for a family oriented, yet highly professional camera store, this place is legit. read more

I really don't understand why YM isn't rated 5 stars by everyone. The owner is usually on site, and every member of the staff I have interacted with knows their trade. YM rents out gear for all platforms, and they have a huge selection of new and used gear. Their prices are great for a small brick and mortar store, and I would support a local mom n' pop shop before a big box store any day of the week. There are so few dedicated camera shops left, and it is unfortunate to see them go. You can never find the expertise and professionalism at large chain stores, and I have never had anything but a great experience with this crew. YM is also always doing community contests and workshops to engage the hobbyist and help the novice learn their gear and how to best utilize their equipment, both pre and post shooting. Glad to have YM in my neighborhood! read more

Rude every time I went in, this was the only camera place near my college so it was the only last minute choice. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. read more

I met Robby on a Facebook post for a camera that I wanted (Canon R5). Originally I had ordered the camera through Canon directly. I come to find out that even though the site and my receipt said the camera was in stock, it turns out that it was back ordered. To my luck, Robby was there to save the day. Not only did he have the camera I wanted in stock, he also had a lens that I wanted. I live in California and Robby made sure that I got my gear quickly and safely in 2 days! Not only that, there was a lens that is back ordered EVERYWHERE (RF 15-35) and somehow he got one in stock and contacted me! The service I got here is out of this world! It's like I am a family member or family friend. I feel like I know Robby and the crew at YM Camera. This is the kind of service that makes loyal customers. ! I am so happy that I am able to help support a small, family owned business. I will continue to do business with YM Camera all the way from California. Thank you to Robby, your family and crew for making my switch from Sony to Canon a painless and enjoyable experience! I hope to one day visit your camera store and shake your hand (if COVID is still running a muck, a Wi-FIVE LOL). read more

My family, friends, and I drive hours to visit YM Camera. They are a kind trustworthy group of people who truly love giving you the best deal they can. The store is always on trend providing classes and products for the latest and greatest at an affordable price. The other day while talking to a photographer from San Diego, I told him I shopped at YM Camera in Youngstown and he knew exactly what store I was talking about. I had a little proud moment, he said he met the Owner at a conference and had great things to say about him. I highly recommend stopping into YM Camera! read more

Expensive but a very professional organization. I gave them an old black and white photo and they improved it. I recommend them.

I have had trouble having them teach me how to use my camera. It took three trips to find someone that new how to show me how to use my Camera. Finally, the owner did a good job showing me how to use it, but he didn't seem happy about it. I think if you get a better price somewhere else I would get it. The lack of service is not worth paying more for a camera. read more

Friendly service, they have a nice shop with all the latest cameras and gear on display. The website is easy to navigate for print pickup. Rental lenses is a great way to try new ones without paying a fortune. read more

Really awesome service! Robby helped me find the perfect fit for my travel & everyday life. Some people have trepidations going into small stores, but the staff was not pushy at all and answered all of my questions. Can't wait to go back for a lesson! read more

I've been to this store more times than I can count. Here's why: I joined a friend on Monday who was interested in purchasing a Profoto Flash ($1K, not typically an impulse purchase, right?). My friend called ahead to see if they were in stock (they were coming in a FedEx truck), so Robby set us up with Grant (young, brilliant, enthusiastic) who spent A HALF AN HOUR WITH US TO SHOW US HOW TO USE THE TECHNOLOGICALLY SUPERIOR FLASH. Thirty minutes! I had no intention of buying one, but Grant's training convinced me. I can't help but spend money in this store, and everything I buy - even though I had no idea I needed it - is something I cannot live without. Why? Because they would never sell me something I won't use. FYI - this store is an hour from my home. I pass about 10 camera stores to get there. Jim & Robby, you and your staff rock! Thank you. read more

Since getting into the digital age, I have purchased all my equipment from YM Camera. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always eager to answer any question. They carry a wide selection of camera bodies and lenses so whatever you shoot, they have your brand. Their printing is of the highest quality. They hold great classes and workshops. Many of my friends wonder why I won't buy my equipment from the internet to save tax but it is worth it to me for the excellent service I get before and after a purchase from YM. I know they will be there for me in the future if I have a question. read more

Stephanie B. nailed it - except I've never seen a girl working there. The customer service is awkward at best. The only reason they stay in business is because they are the only store in town. In my experience they care more about the sale than what is actually best for the client. The showroom is neat and clean, but I'm sad to say that I get better purchase advice from the sales people at Best Buy. read more
