Poor Quality, Incomplete Installation & Lack of Communication…read moreVery disappointed with the quality of the cabinets and, especially, the installation. Unfortunately, what should have been an exciting kitchen renovation has turned into a frustrating experience. The workmanship and attention to detail were far below what I would expect from a professional cabinet company. The photos speak for themselves: Cabinet doors/handles were installed unevenly, with visible differences in alignment. Cabinet interiors were left with unfinished/incomplete work, including missing shelf-pin holes needed to properly adjust the shelves. There are visible holes, damage, and rough areas inside the cabinets that should not be present in a new installation. The backsplash/stone was installed without properly accommodating the existing electrical outlets, leaving the outlets without the necessary openings to install the cover plates. Several aspects of the installation appear unfinished and require additional work to make the kitchen properly functional and presentable. The installer had extreme difficulty communicating in English, which made it very difficult to explain concerns, discuss the installation, or have issues corrected as they were identified. What is particularly frustrating is that when I brought these issues to the company's attention, instead of simply taking responsibility for completing the installation properly, I was told that some of these issues were supposedly someone else's responsibility or would require additional payment. I paid for a professional cabinet installation. I should not have to accept visibly poor workmanship, incomplete installation, or pay additional money to have basic aspects of the installation completed correctly. The pictures included with this review are not minor cosmetic complaints--they show the actual condition and quality of the work I received. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this company carefully inspect every cabinet, door, shelf, handle, outlet opening, and finished surface before making final payment. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Very disappointed with the workmanship, communication, and the company's handling of the issues.

I worked with Eileen and her team for my kitchen remodel. Eileen was really friendly and helpful…read morewith suggestions and recommendations based on what I liked. It took awhile for her to draw out the plans and communication via email and phone was a lot of phone tag and more drawn out than I would have liked. They installed all the cabinets, hardware, and countertops pretty quickly. I think it took them about three days. I'm sure it was an easier job because the house was vacant and my new floors weren't in yet. The morning they installed the new cabinets, Eileen reached out to me to let me know that the cabinet drawer pulls I picked out was no longer available due to insufficient quantities. I ended up having to pick some up at Home Depot. It was annoying and I feel like she should have checked their stock earlier. It would have given me more time to browse for drawer pulls. After the cabinets were installed, I reached out to Eileen to see if someone could come replace a cabinet drawer that had a very obvious dent to it and fix some scratches on cabinets. Her team did come out to do so and I appreciated that. However, I was disappointed considering the house was vacant and there shouldn't be those issues right off the bat. Eileen blamed my contractor who was installing backsplash. I considered that to be a possibility but based on where the dent and scratches were, it didn't make sense. I've lived in my new house for six months and I can now say that the quality of the cabinets aren't that great. There are a lot of nicks, in weird spots. It reflects the mediocre quality of the cabinets. Some of the cabinets are high up or rarely used, yet they have nicks and scratches. I invested in the magic corner cabinet and I wouldn't get it again. It's not as convenient as I expected. A lazy susan is more functional and cheaper. However, they didn't have a magic corner cabinet available in their showroom to see in person. The prices at TT cabinets was comparable to other quotes I received elsewhere. They were the only store that had the magic cabinet available. However, I wouldn't use them again for future projects solely based on the wear and tear of the cabinets.

They really take pride in their work and their brand. We asked very detailed question about the job and it was clear the way co-owner Larissa answered them demonstrated her expertise and depth of experience. Larissa has artistic flair so her input was spot on when we contemplated the type of flooring and how it should be installed. She and her husband (also co-owner) were such a joy to work with too. Their crews came when they said they would, they were hard-working and did a great job with their clean up. Our wood floors and carpet on our stairs came out so beautifully. The best part was that it was such low stress event because we felt like we were in good hands throughout. I'm grateful to have found J&L Innovative Flooring and would happily recommend them to anyone looking for flooring experts. They are in a league of their own.

After a slab leak in our kitchen, we had to replace the engineered hardwood flooring throughout the…read moreentire first floor because our existing flooring had been discontinued. Before finding J&L Innovative Flooring, I had already met with four different flooring companies for in-home estimates and had a good understanding of the costs involved. I was actually planning to hire another contractor. On a Friday afternoon, I called J&L Innovative Flooring and spoke with Larissa, the owner. She was out of town until Tuesday, so I honestly told her I didn't want to waste her time since I had already received multiple estimates and was leaning toward another company. She completely understood but offered to give me a general estimate and explain her scope of work over the phone. Shortly afterward, Larissa texted me a detailed estimate and outlined the work she recommended. I then spent time reading through the company's reviews and found countless satisfied customers. That convinced me to schedule an in-home consultation, and our family is so glad we did. When Larissa came out on Tuesday, I asked countless questions about floor preparation, moisture barriers, moldings, transitions, and the installation process. She answered every question thoroughly and emphasized doing everything according to the manufacturer's installation requirements and warranty. It was immediately obvious that she has extensive knowledge and experience. Unlike many contractors--including one I had previously hired--she wasn't interested in taking shortcuts to save time or money. Just by inspecting our existing floor, she recognized that our concrete slab would require leveling. She assured me that concrete leveling (within reasonable limits) was already included in her estimates at no additional charge. That level of honesty and professionalism immediately earned my trust. Our project also had some unique requirements. We needed the installation completed in two phases because one room was being used to store appliances and furniture. I also wanted to use the same flooring system that had protected our home during the slab leak: Bostik MVP4 moisture barrier with Bostik Best adhesive. Although many installers now use newer systems, this was the system I trusted most and to me worth the increased expense. I also wanted to purchase the flooring materials myself because of an existing relationship with a flooring supplier. Larissa happily accommodated both requests. She even contacted several of her own flooring suppliers to make sure I was getting the best possible pricing. She ultimately matched the same discount (never told her the price)I I was receiving on the engineered hardwood and secured excellent pricing on the adhesive and moisture barrier. It's clear she has strong relationships throughout the industry and genuinely looks out for her customers. Her knowledge on various flooring manufacturers is truly amazing. Most flooring contractors will push u into a certain wood manufacturer that they could make the most commission on but with Larissa u can choose whatever you want and she will try to get you the best deal. For the installation, Larissa assigned Enrique, who has more than 20 years of experience. From demolition to floor preparation, installation, and baseboards, Enrique worked with incredible care and precision. He carefully protected our kitchen cabinets and preserved our bullnose stair nosings instead of taking the easy route and replacing them. Our slab required extensive leveling and sanding before installation. Enrique took his time to ensure the subfloor was perfectly prepared and thoughtfully selected the best-looking planks for the most visible areas of the house. That level of planning and attention to detail is something many installers simply don't do because it takes extra time. One thing that really stood out was that Enrique hand-wiped every single plank after installation while working on his hands and knees. That's over 1,600 square feet of flooring cleaned one plank at a time. Watching that level of dedication was truly impressive. Throughout the project, whenever an issue came up, Larissa immediately found a solution. At one point I forgot to order the T-moldings from the flooring manufacturer, and they were on backorder for two weeks. Rather than delaying the project, Larissa leveraged her network to have a custom T-molding made and professionally stained within just two days. It's rare to find a contractor who is knowledgeable, honest, responsive, and genuinely committed to doing things the right way. Larissa and her team exceeded our expectations from start to finish. If you're looking for a flooring contractor you can completely trust, I highly recommend calling Larissa at J&L Innovative Flooring.
