Oof. This place is not good and the prices are hefty considering how not good. We started with the roundup appetizer and ordered the kids some food just to appease them after a drive. The roundup appetizer...eek, just look at the photo. It was completely overdone and gross. The potato skins were only potato, no toppings and so fried that even the skin had burst open into dust. There were like 9 steak fries and then the fried zucchini which was alright but again, completely over done and basically flavorless. The kids quesadilla was meh at best and burger was 100% previously frozen (which I get, we're very remote) but it was inedible! Like frozen way too long! Even the bun! Would not recommend this place to anyone. Ever. read more

If you're reading this review I hope it's not too late for you to choose somewhere else to eat. This place is completely overpriced! We ordered a burger, t bone steak, spaghetti, and baby back ribs. Everything was completely flavorless. Spaghetti was $14 and had no meat - just sauce and pasta from a box and jar undoubtedly. My sister didn't even wanna finish it. The steak was too rare for a medium rare and needed to be flavored or seasoned. I spent $3 on a fast food burger today and it was infinitely better than the $15 burger from today. We got 2 and a half pieces of corn bread and there were 4 of us. We asked for more and they said it would be an extra charge. Also beware of the mandatory 15% gratuity already added! read more

You could do much better getting fast food. Our food was 1/10. Gordon Ramsey needs to come help this place out. It's struggling. It's really dark in there and crumbs all over where you sit. read more

You need to go early as the line was out the door by the time we left. The service was excellent. Staff was friendly. We had shrimp, steak kabobs and chicken and ribs. It was all tasty and flavorful. The cornbread was sweet as well. I don't understand the low rating. read more

Food was good. Service was pretty good. Didn't know that everyone gets salad and cornbread so some of our party ordered side salad. There were 9 of us. Everyone like their food. The tortilla salad was delicious. The rattlesnake was good but not much meat in the order. Basically 1 small piece each for 6 of us (cooked in a ball of dough) ribs were fantastic. Cowboy beans were a little bland.. maybe cowboys didn't carry seasoning. Steaks were good. Nice decor. All in all pretty satisfied. read more

Cornbread and beans were really good. The steak and ribs were just ok. Beware, my son and I ate, just the two of us, and 15% gratuity was already added to our bill. I ask the lady what the charge was for and she snapped back "gratuity it says on the menu". I told her I left the server 20% cash on the table. She finally took the 15% off my bill. Once we got outside another gentleman came up to me and said he almost did the same thing I had done. Never have I saw gratuity added for a party of two. The diner was clean. read more

Horrible service, very unfriendly and unwelcoming. You would think a placed called "Yippee-ei-o" would be a little more yippee. Awkward environment. VERY overpriced for the bland food. Would give 0 stars if I could. read more

My fiancé and I dropped by in here after visiting the Grand Canyon because I was craving a baked potato. We just looked it up and didn't look at reviews. No one in the parking lot should've been our sign to walk out. Walked in and it was dark. There were 2 employees on the right of us sitting at a table watching a show in an iPad. Looked annoyed and sat us down without saying a word. I said thank you and got nothing in response. Should've walked out then but just let it slide. We looked at the menus and it was so expensive and I was surprised because it looked like a Texas Roadhouse almost. The waitress came over 10 minutes later and said "ready to order?" Very bland talking and we said "yes maam. Uh i want Dr Pepper to drink and I want a Coke". All she said was okay. My Fiancé and I decided to just get 2 loaded baked potatoes and a bread basket that comes with cornbread and biscuits. And she just said okay and took our menus and walked away. I said thank you and no response. I decided to look up the reviews and they were awful and it made sense. I'm glad we didn't get anything else to eat. The cornbread was good but only 2 pieces cut in half and 3 biscuits for $12. The baked potatoes only came with sour cream and we wanted them loaded. (Which where we're from is cheese, sour cream, chives, bacon bits, and butter). It was just very bland service and alright food for experience prices. read more

KEEP DRIVIN!! Hands down, the worst experience of our lives. They're overpriced and apparently overpaid. It wasnt until we received our check that we were advised of the auto grat of 20%. It took nearly 20 minutes to even talk to a server, who didn't speak a lick of english. She literally had to ask for help when we asked about specials, etc Overcooked, boxed level sides, and lower quality ingredients than high school cafeterias. The attitude and the food weren't worth the $150 it cost for a family of 4. McDonald's would have been better. read more

We ended up here at 8pm after a rim to river to rim Grand Canyon hike. The food was bland. They could not get the steak temperature correct. There is a reason they add 15% gratuity automatically as the service is poor. Their coffee wasn't even good. Seriously stay away from this place and believe the reviews. I have never been so unhappy and unsatisfied about a meal until I came here!! After a long drive getting here, tired, hungry, I just wanted to get a decent dinner then call it a night. Not getting signal for crap the whole time I was at the Grand Canyon, I couldn't use Yelp to look up a good restaurant, decided to pull into one that looks crowded. Boyyyy was I wrong! First of, the hostess didn't know what to do with me. What's so hard about sitting a party of 1?!? She hesitated for a lil bit then pointed me to the side where the bar is, sure, whatever. I got to the bar area, there was another hostess/waitress just sitting down at the bar, saw me and started asking if I wanted drinks or here for dinner. Food!!! I wanted food!!!! She then proceeded to walk me back to the other side of the restaurant and sat me in the corner :(. At least I got my own table. Again, whatever! The waiter was very friendly and I guess nicer to me since I was all by myself. Even offered to be my dining companion. Ha! That didn't happen of course. I got the rattle snake for appetizer and the filet minon for main entree. The rattlesnake was a huge ripped off. Absolutely nothing to rave about, yet, over $10 for 4 tiny pieces of fried rattlesnake, supposedly. Then the main entree was an even bigger disappointment. The steak was cooked to order, but had no seasoning whatsoever. The baked potato and beans were both horrendously bland and tasteless. If that wasn't bad enough, I just now found out that the tip was already included. Since I had no idea and thought they charged me over $5 for 2 fried jalapeño,'I still tipped the waiter a good 20% since he seemed nice enough. Never again will I come here!!!! I was literally so lost and miserable without Yelp! read more

Went after a long day at the canyon. Our guide from the pink keep recommended it. Really cute inside, service was okay. Got the t-bone and everything it came with. The steak was good. They cook it differently then I am used to but it had a good flavor. Came with a salad, beans, corn, and a potato. Salad came with ranch nothing special about it. Beans were not great. Corn and potato were cooked well could have used some more salt in the water with the corn, but from the south so used to more salt. Overall went to a steakhouse for a good steak and that's what I got! read more

Favorless Fa"vor*less\, a. 1. Unfavored; not regarded with favor; having no countenance or support. 2. Unpropitious; unfavorable. 3. Our meals at Yippee-ei-o! Steakhouse Following Day 1 at the Canyon, we arrived at Yippee-ei-o for dinner. We were all impressed with the list of accomplying sides to the entrees and were hungry. After we all ordered, a single bowl of salad was brought to the table. While I'm fine sharing it with my family, the size was certainly not proporational to the 7 people at the table. Still, we ordered apps to join our meal so no worries. The "lightly" breaded half and half basket might have been true, if by "lightly" breaded they meant lightly breaded several times over. Turning to our meals, well, bland is the only way to describe nearly everything from the steak to the beans. The ribs may have had a little favor, but that is more likely due to the BBQ sauce. Considering all the above and the price, I recommend you find an alternative. read more

I don't think I can remember having a worse meal than the one I had here. The the food was all over cooked. I must admit I wasn't asked how I wanted my burger done but it was similar to a charcoal briquette. I don't think anyone would want it that way. The fried zucchini was black and burnt. The french fries were the only things that was editable. read more

4 of us came in for late lunch and we got seated right away. Service was crappy. Very long wait for the food to be cooked/prepared (about 30mins) although there were not much customers eating. The dude server was very, very rude with no manners. Ordered medium well fillet mignon and got a very well done steak. Not any pink color in the center of the meat and the outside was burnt. Brought it up to the attention of the server but he insisted it was "medium well". didn't give us any option and just walked away. Flavor was ok although meat was dry (of course, it was well done ). Huge servings of pasta, taste was just so-so. We were caught off guard with the 15% "gratuity on the bill. I didn't know one restaurant can demand/require/obligate the customers for that much gratuity for an awful service. Do not eat here. Not unless you can live with giving a 15% gratuity for a non existent customer service. read more

Located right outside the Grand Canyon National Park, my girlfriends and I were craving steak so we stopped by this steak house. Each entree comes with a nice serving of 4 sides!! These include salad, cornbread, beans, and baked potato. The salad, cornbread, and baked potato were simple, but good. Beans seemed as if they were just poured out of a can though. I ordered the half rack rib and steak combo. The bbq ribs were okay. The steak was low grade- not good- I took 2 bites and couldn't keep eating it. This piece of steak makes me not want to eat steak for a while - it honestly has kind of ruined my appetite for steak - that's how bad it was. We ordered s'mores for dessert! Ingredients for the s'mores came out on a platter with a little "campfire" - fun activity with my ladies! Service was mediocre - she was good, however neither friendly nor unfriendly. read more

Regret. That is the word that I search for when I think of the visit to this establishment. I should have checked the yelp reviews. Giving this place one star mainly because there was no social distancing at all and the restaurant is not clean. The bathroom was filthy and after people were done with their meal the waitress was cleaning the tables with a dirty rag and no cleaning solution. I couldn't even finish my meal and became concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen after what I saw in the dining area. Do yourself a favor and stay straight on the road until you hit McDonalds. You will save yourself money and probably have a better dining experience. read more

Sooooo......... our trip was almost two weeks ago and I still remember how unmemorable this place was. I rarely like to give such low reviews, but this restaurant was an awful experience. I'll start with the restaurant itself - dimly lit, which normally isn't bad, but there was literally no music playing, very confusing seating arrangements (tables everywhere, but a door in the back where you could gain access to the bar, which was extremely unclear until we asked), and staff that very clearly did not want to be there. This was a really disappointing way to end our glorious day hiking. Oh and back to the bar in the back - the seats were saddles, how is anyone supposed to sit on a saddle while drinking a beer? I looked and felt ridiculous for the ten seconds I sat on it. The food was okay. Seriously nothing special, I got a veggie burger which was dry and flavorless. I liked the store-bought fries the most. My friends got a steak, which they also gave a similar review of. Best part? The beer. I would never return to this place. read more

Yippie ei woah this place is bad. I used to work in restaurants. I SHUN and despise Yelp. I've rarely written reviews, but when I have they've been both positive and negative. I am SUPER easy to please having worked in restaurants in the past. I understand bad/off nights, service woes and mistakes. I look passed those, especially with COVID rules, consistently. But this place was worthy of a review, as it's well deserving of its 2 star rating from 400+ users. AVOID. AVOID. I should have known to avoid it from the start, solely because of the tacky name and tacky interior. Usually the indicator of a crappy place. But tired, hungry and walking distance from my campsite, I was reluctant. Over priced, low quality steaks, ribs tough, couldn't pull apart and dry. When I brought up the ribs, I was told because they were pork. Duh and no. I was told that I needed to cut them with a knife. No. Just no. Also told they sell tons of ribs. Okay, just because you sell a ton of ribs doesn't mean they are good. Also it's to patrons on vacation. Beans watery and awful taste. Cornbread cold. Obvious bagged salad. Baked potato, although small, was the best part just barely. Truly. A potato. Tourist trap. My mistake for not reading the reviews before hand, being from out of town. Just read through them. Same issues as mine. Which is the only reason I'm writing this. Trust these reviews. Skip it. It's obvious the owners/chef don't read these reviews. But what do they care? It's all tourists they'll never see again and yipee ki yay MF'er we got your money, see ya. read more

This is what happens when you have a captive audience. I would imagine that most of their diners are people exiting the Grand Canyon park who are tired and hungry so they grab the first place they see. We ordered three dishes, and two of them were from the kids menu. These dishes totaled over $80. Let that sink in for a minute. I ordered a 16 ounce steak that I shared with my wife. Of that 16 ounces, I'm guessing 5 ounces were bone and 8 ounces were grizzle and fat. That leave a grand total of around 3 ounces of steak. Trust me, not a single ounce was any typle of flavoring. My wife commented that it tasted like they injected water into it, that's how dull it was. Add this to the fact that we asked for, but never recieved, butter for the potato and steak sauce for that worthless chunk of meat. If you're going to the Grand Canyon, do yourself a flavor and pack a picnic. Or you could bring a few pieces of styrofoam to chew on while you throw a $100 bill into the canyon to get the experience of the ol' Yippee-ei-o. read more

There's a reason there's an hour wait at the other steak houses, and only a 10 minute wait here. The staff was very friendly, but the restaurant probably hasn't been updated in 20 years. The cornbread and salad were good. However, my husband and I ordered "the wrangler" which is a sirloin steak. We didn't notice it said "ground sirloin" so we were pretty shocked when they delivered an over cooked hamburger patty. Why is that even an option? I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. $25 for a freaking hamburger patty. So deceiving and gross. We were also seated by a window and were freezing the whole time (in September). Pretty bummed with the experience. read more

There aren't many options when you are traveling in these parts of the world. I admit when I saw the sign i set my expectations low. We had traveled 6 hours by the time we decided we needed to eat. yes the interior evokes "Thunder Mountain" look where you are at! 1920's rustic cabin IS the aesthetic! You are here for the food We were blown away! Every way you would order a steak they had. The "steak burger" i thought was a great option for those with kids or picky eaters. 1) A solid edible steak that was cooked the way I ordered it. 2) Well portioned sides that tasted like they were supposed to. 3) Friendly helpful staff that didn't hound you when you ate and were prompt with ordering. I live in Vegas. I travel outside of the country. This is place is a rock solid outpost in the remote part of America that delivers a respectable steak dinner at a reasonable price leaving you full and with leftovers. I don't know where other people's expectations are at but for getting your monies worth at a steakhouse this place won't let you down. I am keeping this "family friendly": I feel that other low star reviews lack a substantive description of their less than positive experience. For being in the middle of nowhere and limited options: this place is why people come to the grand canyon. read more

LOOK AT YOUR BILL! Very small place. Paid $32 for a 12 ounce steak that had very little flavor at all. I had to drown my steak and A1 sauce because it was so bland. In fact, all of their food had no flavor at all. Seems like the cook is afraid of spices. Overly expensive place for not very good quality food. And pay close attention to your bill. They have some charge on there called subtotal that is about 12% of the bill. It's a charge that comes from nowhere. When I asked about it, I was told it was gratuity. I went ahead and let them take that as the tip Since they took it upon themselves to tip themselves. I usually tip 20%, I didn't feel they deserved it. Seems like this place is cutting corners and doing anything they can to make a few extra bucks because they're not doing too well. Just an assumption. read more

This is what I call "cowboy restaurant". Almost like in old movies. You come in and park your saddle at the entrance, when seated they ask "what do you want?" and that's it. I didn't like that they don't have beer on tap, although they had good bottled local beer. Five star is for food! We had a steak, beans and corn on the cob!!! I just finished horseback riding and with this meal my cowboy experience was fulfilled!!! This is not upscale restaurant so please don't expect something they don't offer! If I could give zero stars and leave a review I would. There's no choice of sides, the cook (certainly can't call this person a chef) can't fry zucchini or mushrooms without burning them to a crisp, has no idea what a medium steak looks like and the fried shrimp is coconut shrimp served with cocktail sauce. Hubby requested sugar for his tea 4 times before actually getting it. I requested lemon with my drink and had to steal his out of his tea, the lemon had a tinge of onion flavor. I love steak! I always get mine medium rare and almost never use any type of sauce. But Yippee-ei-o! steak did it. I had to break my rule and use A1 just to manage. To be honest, the steak might have been a two star rating but the quality and taste did not live up to the hefty price tag. The entree comes with corn bread and a piece of corn on the cob which were fine, a cauldron of baked beans that looked miserable, and a small bake potato. I also ordered the "Round Up" sampler and that too was highly disappointing. The menu said it had potato skins, fried zucchini, and steak fries. The skins and zucchini were an eye sore. The steak fries were fine. TIP: Avoid going to Yippee-ei-o! at all cost. read more

First off... be aware that they will automatically include a 15% gratuity no matter the size of your party (it was 2 only of us). Also somewhat sneaky about. It is on the menu but not on the receipt on which you fill in the gratuity and total charge info. Just seems misleading. We first were served an expired beer. The server was apologetic and nice. We ordered the Cowgirl steak and the burger. The best part of the meal was the corn bread. The steak was bland, and the burger tasted like it was a previously frozen patty and heated up in the microwave. read more

After a nice visit to GC, we were really starving once we finished the visit. This was the first restaurant that we saw where we could get a good steak with table service. Worth to mention that since you don't have good cell coverage in this area, you can hardly rely on Yelp to pick you choices. We came here and we were immediately greeted by the host and took us to our table. Our waiter asked us for drinks and then we ordered food. Everything going well... Then my network connection improved and I was able to find this place (initially it only showed other steakhouses, but this one). When I saw 2 stars and the reviews, I was getting ready for the worst. Well, let me tell you that we had a good experience and that sometimes people who are used to high service levels in big cities, may come with this same benchmark and try to compare to a small town place. I was not disappointed with their service. They were very attentive and asking if we needed anything all the time. Also we came around 4pm...there were 7 tables with people, so not really packed at this tome. The steak was good and to the point we ordered...the potatoes were great and corn was delicious. The salad came in a plate to share along with 3 cornbreads. The baked beans were sweet to my taste but not with a good flavor (probably the only dish I did not enjoy). Other than that, food was ready in a decent time and with good flavor. My kid ordered spaghetti and it was a huge portion! Then we ordered an apple pie with ice cream and it was also very good! If you want more of a commercial flavor this is not your place. If you like more of a homemade type of flavor, you will enjoy. One thing that I agree with other Yelpers...quite expensive for the place. read more
