He is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate and you can tell that he is incredibly vested in his patients. He takes the time to really dig into your history and symptoms and sees you as a whole person. You are truly heard and he addresses all of your concerns, no matter how small. He takes a holistic approach and focuses on discovering the root cause of symptoms or disease and resolving it rather than using a bandaid approach. I would recommend Dr Bernui to anyone - especially if they have been dealing with chronic symptoms and been to multiple doctors before and still have no answers.

My rating is based solely on Dr. Bernui's initial appointment policy. I was planning to schedule an…read moreappointment with him as a new patient and in the process learned that he keeps the entire $1,200 fee, which is paid in advance, if a patient cancels with less than 3 business days' notice. Now I understand that his time (like his patients' time) is valuable, and some people may not show up or cancel at the last minute. In such cases a reasonable cancellation fee may be appropriate, but to keep the entire $1,200 fee for doing nothing is disappointing and does not, in my opinion, reflect well on his character. In his new patient paperwork explaining this policy, there is no provision for returning all or a portion of those funds if a different patient can be scheduled for that time, nor is consideration given for emergencies. So, he could keep $1,200 fee and charge someone else another $1,200 for the same time slot, pocketing $2,400 for a 3-hour consultation. When I found out about this policy, I lost interest in seeing him and decided to look elsewhere for my healthcare needs.

He is knowledgeable, thorough, and took the time to address my concerns, which made me feel comfortable and well cared for. Unfortunately, my experience with the office staff lately was the complete opposite. The staff was frazzle, unfriendly, unwelcoming. The office manager was on guard from the beginning of my conversation with her. It takes 6 months to get an appointment unless you are dying and then you may get offered a zoom meeting with the doctor. My advice find a doctor who can handle his patient load.

As such, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Nordquist for a general check-up/new patient entry, doing so approximately 1 month in advance. On the date of, I arrived at least 15 minutes in advance to complete the necessary paperwork. After some waiting time, I was taken into one of the examination rooms, where a pleasant nurse obtained my blood pressure and heart rate. As she was exiting, I was told Dr. Nordquist would be in shortly. I waited for some time, but ultimately left due to another scheduled appointment that could not be re-scheduled. As I exited, I approached the receptionist and explained the doctor never arrived and I would be leaving to meet a prior appointment. In the end, I left the location without ever meeting with Dr. Nordquist. At the point I left, I had been at the location for at least 1 hour and 45 minutes (1 hour and 30 minutes after my appointment time). For comparison sake, it should be noted that when I arrived at my other appointment, I was met with nearly no delay at all between checking in and work beginning (they even took me back early). I do not plan on returning to this location and will look elsewhere for a primary care physician - hopefully finding one that values the time of others.

I opened the door to ask and was told there were still two people in front of me. I asked if we could reschedule or do anything as I drove a long way on break from work. The reply was "no" and I was to "just wait." Other reviews show wait times of 2 hours. This is unacceptable unless there is an emergency. Short staffed and poor planning is not an emergency. I left without seeing the doctor or support. Not a great way to treat anyone. Disappointed the VA/VES partners with such a poor clinic.
