We got a kiwi/avocado and a taro, both of which were delicious. Tasted very fresh and the taro root tasted earthy and more like true taro root (I would imagine) than other boba places I have been to. Drinks were made to order after we put the orders in and were ready to go quickly. They also have daily lunch specials (most of those are meat-containing and we usually eat vegetarian) but the value for those looks good. Small shop wedged into a corner on the street with several other boba places in the immediate area - don't miss out! Would definitely come back here if in the area again.

Hi Tea is super small. It has been around for a long time. Even before Chatime. They have takeout food as well. They have a lunch special every day. I highly recommend getting that. I will definitely go back for their bubble tea or bubble waffle. It is located in an area surrounded by 6 or 7 bubble tea shops. Hi-Tea along with 3 other neighboring bubble tea stores open late.

One of the favorites is the grape mojito it's so light so refreshing and has the perfect light hint of green tea flavour with real smashed grapes and mint. This would taste really good with alcohol same with the pink drink that's just how good these drinks are. Most boba shops either have super fragrant floral teas or strong and bitter or too light where it just taste like cereal milk but not the moon. For coffee lovers my favourite coffee is their flame cloud latte. Better than my Starbucks go to drink. You have to make sure you stir it and mix up the brown sugar though. Personally I love asking for extra cloud foam. It's also a nice little spot for your friends to hang out since they have seating up to 20 here. You can tell this place is very clean I saw how they are constantly storing away syrups by sealing it off from fruit flies near the end of the day

My wife and I were greeted by Pat (the owner?) as soon as we walked in. He was happy to see and hear that he had visitors from the south. Since they weren't that busy, Pat was able to make conversation with us. After the talk was over, we ordered some kind of tea for my wife, and a mango sago drink for me. I don't think my wife understood their menu very well. She ordered what she thought was a milk tea. What she got had no milk in it. After leaving, she made me go back in to see if Pat could add some milk in it. Pat was able to fix the drink more to her liking. My mango sago drink was very good. Royaltea was a good place. Pat was a wonderful guy. Drinks were good. Will have to go back when visiting Calgary again.

We are big fans of boba tea so we are always willing to try something new. We weren't really a fan of the drinks we picked. My partner ordered the brown sugar oat milk tea and she ended up tossing hers. She said it had a weird after taste and the pearls were slimy. Which tells me they don't store the pearls the way they should be. We don't have those issues with Gong Cha and Happy Tea. I ordered the strawberry green tea and was not expecting all that they put in it. There were apple and orange slices and there was like this weird slushy consistency to it. The pearls in the drink were funky. After I strained my drink I was able to drink it. On the flip side, I loved their presentation and packaging. I'm not sure we will be trying them again but I'll consider it. Maybe it was just an off day for them. Who knows. But you don't know until you try.

I personally don't like grapefruit but it's very refreshing! The rose milk tea was not too floral or artificial tasting and was an interesting drink! I hate parking here and having to walk all the way around the apartment building on a cold day!! If you can find street parking it would make it easier. The location itself doesn't have a ton of accessible parking, as there are only some at the rear, but it's totally worth it. The cafe is very clean and cute, which is such a great spot for families and couples. We will definitely be coming back as this just gave me real bad cravings for milktea. My go to drinks are the brown sugar thai milk tea (go 30% sweet), the Celadon tea latte or the original brown sugar milk tea. All are sweet and delicious in their own way. The thai milk tea is a bit different from other thai teas I've had but in a great way, the celadon has grassy floral notes and the brown sugar drink is just good old classic milk tea. It doesn't taste like a normal Thai tea - veers more towards a black tea, but still has that Thai tea essence. I've tried both 50% and 70% sweetness - I would recommend 50%. 70% is pretty dang sweet and 50% is also sweet enough to capture the core taste without being overbearingly. Honestly, I could've gone down to 30% since 50% is still on the sweet side. Their boba is on the more chewier side of the spectrum and also on the smaller side. Definitely recommend if you're in Calgary!
