Place was clean and welcoming - old school diner vibes in my opinion. Waitress was super friendly - offered ice water right away as she noticed I was sweating my life away. I wasn't overly hungry, so just tried out some happy hour snacks - the salty peppery chicken was just right - nice crisp and flavour - Lemon pepper wings were a bit to lemony for me - however overall was still quite nice. The lost star went to the drink - Brown sugar oat, already anticipated this to be sweet - so I already went 50% - however even then, wayy too sweet. there was bits where it tasted like there was crystalized sugar in your mouth. I'd visit again to explore the menu if I find myself in Calgary again.

Hi Tea is super small. It has been around for a long time. Even before Chatime. They have takeout food as well. They have a lunch special every day. I highly recommend getting that. I will definitely go back for their bubble tea or bubble waffle. It is located in an area surrounded by 6 or 7 bubble tea shops. Hi-Tea along with 3 other neighboring bubble tea stores open late.

It tastes like old frozen fruit, and yes believe me you can tell. The milk tea doesn't not taste like milk tea, it's like old powdered milk tea you would buy at tnt. Overall bubbletea score is a 2.5/5 for me. If you want appetizers though, Jus Fruit isn't bad, their takoyaki is a bit pricy but it's pretty yummy, doesn't have that flavour explosion in your mouth like authentic Japanese restaurants but for what's there it is good. Overall appetizers score 4/5.

Absolutely in loovvee with their bubble tea flavours. Mango Yakult is my favourite right now, and their pearls are soft and nice, unlike other bubble tea places. They also seem like they do their best to have good and fast service, judging from how quick they move while making their drinks. It can get pretty busy there, though, and there's not a plentiful amount of seats. But this just shows that a lot of people love the place! read more

For coffee lovers my favourite coffee is their flame cloud latte. Better than my Starbucks go to drink. You have to make sure you stir it and mix up the brown sugar though. Personally I love asking for extra cloud foam. It's also a nice little spot for your friends to hang out since they have seating up to 20 here. Which tells me they don't store the pearls the way they should be. We don't have those issues with Gong Cha and Happy Tea. I ordered the strawberry green tea and was not expecting all that they put in it. There were apple and orange slices and there was like this weird slushy consistency to it. The pearls in the drink were funky. After I strained my drink I was able to drink it. On the flip side, I loved their presentation and packaging. I'm not sure we will be trying them again but I'll consider it. Maybe it was just an off day for them. Who knows. But you don't know until you try.
