You go, they give you a hand saw and a cart and you go out into their fields looking for the perfect tree. They have many different kinds of trees of all shapes and sizes. The older gentleman we talked to was super nice. Once you pick your tree, they will perform and shake service then net it all up for you. They also have beautiful wreaths for sale- they even threw a door hanger in for free. The farm is beautiful and they people are really friendly. They even let us bring our dog (as long as we promised to bring baggies and clean up after her which is more than reasonable). There are chickens roaming around and a friendly bunch of dogs on the grounds. Really great Christmas activity- we will be returning next year!

His post-depression-era sensibilities found him there, holiday season after holiday season, for two reasons mainly: 1. The service was exceptional. 2. The prices were the best in town. Now, some 70 plus years since, it is pretty much the same story. Although about three years ago Al-Jac's moved to a new location nearby - across the Woonasquatucket River, at the corner of Kinsley and Acorn - you can still expect fanciful formations of florid firs, tip-top tree talk, a complimentary chainsaw cut, and a happy heave-ho with a twine-tie-down atop your econo-sized vehicle. Ok, atop MY econo-sized vehicle. Add a handmade wreath to that 8.5 footer and walk away for under $50 (with tip). I would like to think that papa would be proud. After striking out at a couple of other spots, we ended up at Oak Ridge Tree Farm. There is ample parking and we were immediately greeted by very nice people who were working there. Initially we were looking for precut, thought we would take a break from the work of cutting the tree down his year....but the guys at the farm encouraged us to go pick out our favorite tree and said they'd cut it down for us if we didn't want to do it ourselves. I thought that was very nice, and definitely not something that has been offered to me at any other tree farm in the past. So we went on the search for our perfect tree. They have carts and saws, and a great variety of trees. We ended up cutting down our own tree, I think it was $45 up to a certain height, and more for the taller trees. They charge $2 extra to wrap the tree (well worth it) so with tax, it was around $50. They also sell wreaths. The only negative is that they don't have a tree shaker or hot chocolate, or sleigh rides. But we've done all of that before and sometimes you really want to just get in, get a good quality tree, and get out. It would be great if they could get a shaker though!! As we were waiting for our tree to be wrapped, an older gentleman (maybe the owner?) was talking to us about how to care for our tree, and telling us about the farm. He was so nice and helpful, it was really a great experience all around. We've had our tree for over 3 weeks now and it is still in great shape, hardly any needles have fallen off of it. We've tried going for the past 2 years and weren't able to get tickets so I made sure to buy them early! Absolutely worth the $20ish entry fee per person. The lights were amazing, so well thought out! Tons of cute spots to take pics.. Santa & mrs claus.. and about 3/4 mile nicely packed walkway of lights. Seriously the best local Christmas experience!! 10/10 recommend!

We got there when it was dark already so we couldn't go out into the field to peruse but Mike and his son were more than accommodating with suggestions of some pre cut trees that would fit our needs. We settled for a 7 ft Fraser Fir he suggested instead of a 6 ft we originally wanted due to limited selection and I'm glad we did, it filled the room perfectly. You can tell they take pride in what they do and the service is top notch. Extremely friendly and personable, as if they've known you for years. When we got the tree home, it was very fragrant and set the mood for Christmas. Cash only, prices start at $50 for a 6 ft tree.

My fiancé and I did everything we could 5 of them not pictured but very dead. We replanted some of them, watered them consistently, and changed soil, added mulch several times. The ride to Charlie Browns Christmas Tree Farm in East Hampton was beautiful and when you get to your destination you can't help but feel you are somewhere special. The farmhouse where they sell ornaments and wreathes looks like a small Santa's workshop and there are other attractive small outbuildings that serve various purposes. Christmas music plays from speakers in the trees and staff in red vests are abundant and quick to offer help. Consider dropping a tip into the "Elves College Fund" tins on the trees near checkout. There are five different types of trees to choose from spread over multiple fields that are very walkable and it is obvious Charlie Brown prunes their trees so they look both natural and beautiful. Small, large and extra tall trees are available and prices are reasonable. Deb's Cafe makes a very festive hot chocolate as well as offering food and snacks which were getting great reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and came home with a wonderful tree. We will definitely be back next year.

My bf has never gotten a real tree so just to get him there was difficult enough so maybe they saw my face and caved but they allowed us to hustle down to cut the tree with the warning of daylight and the hike we were about to do... pleasantly surprised at the variety of options it was certainly a hike. They had beautiful trees and many varieties and luckily we found one rather quickly. They are reasonably priced and they shake and wrap the tree. They offered us rope to tie up but last minute we grabbed bungee cords so turned the offer down. Probably shouldn't have since I'm apparently not too good with bungees and one slipped hit my other half in the head. There were a ton of chimes and garden wall art. The style is definitely "older" with tons of angels and glass balls. It was a cute shop but not for me personally. They were getting lots of business when I was there.
