Years later and here I am again at this wonderful gem! Lovely people. Fabulous selection. And Covid safe. All trees are $65 which is a little more expensive than some of the others but definitely definitely worth it!!

Fabulous Christmas tree farm in Middletown, near the Durham line. The tree farm we have gone to for the past few years was closed the day we went to get our tree, so we drove around Durham, following signs for tree farms. After striking out at a couple of other spots, we ended up at Oak Ridge Tree Farm. There is ample parking and we were immediately greeted by very nice people who were working there. Initially we were looking for precut, thought we would take a break from the work of cutting the tree down his year....but the guys at the farm encouraged us to go pick out our favorite tree and said they'd cut it down for us if we didn't want to do it ourselves. I thought that was very nice, and definitely not something that has been offered to me at any other tree farm in the past. So we went on the search for our perfect tree. They have carts and saws, and a great variety of trees. We ended up cutting down our own tree, I think it was $45 up to a certain height, and more for the taller trees. They charge $2 extra to wrap the tree (well worth it) so with tax, it was around $50. They also sell wreaths. The only negative is that they don't have a tree shaker or hot chocolate, or sleigh rides. But we've done all of that before and sometimes you really want to just get in, get a good quality tree, and get out. It would be great if they could get a shaker though!! As we were waiting for our tree to be wrapped, an older gentleman (maybe the owner?) was talking to us about how to care for our tree, and telling us about the farm. He was so nice and helpful, it was really a great experience all around. We've had our tree for over 3 weeks now and it is still in great shape, hardly any needles have fallen off of it. This is a seasonal business, only open in November/December each year, so be sure to call ahead or check their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Oak-Ridge-Tree-Farm/298668200167752) for their operating schedule.

I almost hesitate to write this review because I want Miller Tree Farm to remain our hidden gem!…read moreFor the past 15 years, we've made it a tradition to visit on opening day, arriving at opening time to find the perfect tree. And every single year, we have managed to do just that! This experience has become a cherished family ritual for my kids, who have known no other way of getting our Christmas tree. Although there have been tears and playful disagreements along the way, we always leave with the most beautiful tree, and those moments have only added to the memories. As my children have grown older, the tears have thankfully stopped, but the joy of choosing our tree together remains. I truly hope they continue this tradition at Miller Tree Farm for years to come. If you're looking for a delightful place to find your holiday tree, I cannot recommend this farm enough!

The staff here are kind and leave you to your own devices. Feel free to walk onto the farm without worry that someone is judging or going to stop you. There were people around the farm that day- though it wasn't too busy- it was quiet. There are some great opportunities out there! Go get 'em! Now if we're talking trees and pricing, every tree in the farm is $55 but they'll sell you a tree for just 30 if it's teeny tiny. The most classically beautiful trees were up front and being sold at about 60 or 65, if I remember correctly. These are the ones that replicate the beauty of a reusable plastic tree, but honestly are even more spectacular than I've ever seen. The staff here will package the tree up and help you attach it to your vehicles roof. Finding the location was easy with our GPS. We could clearly see that we were in the right spot and parking was available. We arrived around 3. There are no stairs to climb at this tree farm, making it a wheelchair accessible location. The only thing I noticed that could inhibit wheelchair movement throughout the farm is that there seemed to be a thick layer of hay, maybe, lining the ground. There didn't seem to be clear paths to walk through, so we kinda just crunched through the hay to whichever tree caught our eye. You could go anywhere to buy a tree, but buying a tree from a tree farm is very worth the experience!
