I had a very disappointing experience at what is considered a high-end salon…read more Before booking my first appointment, I sent photos of my current hair and inspiration pictures to the stylist. I have an AirTouch technique in my hair, and since the salon does not offer AirTouch services, I wanted to confirm in advance that we could achieve a similar look using balayage or highlights. I was assured we could proceed. At the appointment, I waited a bit (which I understand happens in Miami). Once seated, the stylist examined my hair carefully and suggested doing a half head of highlights first to see how my fine, chemically damaged hair would react. I appreciated the caution and explained my previous negative experience with another stylist. When I left the salon, I was happy. The result wasn't identical to my inspiration photos, but I felt good about it. However, after washing my hair once, I noticed obvious orange foil spots and poorly blended areas near my ears. I immediately contacted the salon, and to their credit, they accommodated me the next day for a correction. Unfortunately, the solution offered was to darken my roots to cover the orange spots. This left me questioning why I paid $450 to lighten my roots, only to have them darkened again. Now, just a little over two weeks later, my hair already looks grown out because of the darker roots. For the price point and reputation of this salon, I expected better execution and a longer-lasting result. I truly wanted to love the experience, but overall, I'm very disappointed.

Salón De Soleil is a great place to get your hair done. Chelsea is my personal hair stylist there…read more She is very professional, makes it a point to welcome everyone to the salon. Chelsea makes recommendations based on the individual client sitting in her chair. She is not the type of stylist that recommends treatments or products as a mean to make money. I was really looking forward to my appointment, but unfortunately, my experience was frustrating…read morefrom the start. After booking and paying a deposit, I received a call stating that the time and service was incorrectly scheduled. On top of that, I wasn't even asked about the service I selected (Color Package 4, the highest package) to ensure everything was set up correctly. To make matters worse, while I was initially able to book a later time online, I was then asked to come earlier. This was fine with me, and I was told the technician would stay, and we wouldn't finish until 11 PM. By this point, my hair (or myself) hadn't even been seen yet. I understand that prices can change, but this situation made it hard to enjoy the experience, especially as a busy mom who rarely has time to pamper herself. Additionally, while the website recommends a consultation, the call felt more like reading the rules on the site rather than a personalized conversation, which I did take the time to read as it has taken me some time to try and find a new salon that is closer to my home. Better communication and a more thoughtful approach would have gone a long way. Overall, I hope the business can improve its customer service and communication so clients feel valued before they even arrive.

I've been between a rock and a hard place for a long time now when it comes to hair salons. What…read moredoes this mean? I have essentially been going back between two hair salons: H by Hisham and Hair Cuttery. On this occasion, I opted to go to Hair Cuttery as I was crunched for a time limit, and good thing, too, because I spent over three hours at the salon. Sigh, the price of beauty. For the past few years, I've been on and off going to this Hair Cuttery. Throughout this time, I have somehow never stayed with the same stylist, but that's simply because this is probably the one place that I have never developed an affinity for one particular stylist. Everyone I have ever let touch my hair has been a god. I always come out feeling like a brand-new spanking goddess. This last encounter I was styled by Madelin and she worked her magic with my fried hair. See, I tend to procrastinate like crazy when it comes to my hair. Before two days ago, the last time my hair had been revamped was about a year ago. I know, I know, the shame, especially considering that I call myself a girly girl. Anyhow, what I like about Hair Cuttery is their convenience. They are everywhere, and not just that, but their prices and services are blatantly listed. I never am left scratching my head as to why they added extra charges. What you see on the website is what you see at the hair salon and it is what is charged on your way out. I ended up getting a package deal consisting of a cut, shampoo, blow dry, plus a dye job and full highlights. After all this, I feel and look like an entirely different person and it's just fantabulous (fantastic and fabulous all rolled into one). Until next time, and well, I do hope next time isn't a year from now. I do seriously need to be better about my hair.

The Merrick Park Madison Reed location knocked it out of the park, literally!!! A huge THANK YOU to…read moreall the staff there, especially Indira and Savannah! These 2 ladies helped shape my new view of Madison Reed. They, and the other 2 staff members are exceptional representatives of this brand. Long story short. I went to another location last month, day before my birthday. My experience was not the best from start to finish. I hung in trying to be understanding of being someone's last appointment and they were exhausted and or inexperienced when left alone with multiple clients. Whatever the case, I was left with dark, large dye marks 2 inches from hairline on my forehead and temple, had dye marks on both ears, cheeks, and back of neck. I was told nothing could be done and there was no product there available to try to remove stains left by colorist who had already left. I went home and had to wash face/hair after paying for my blow out. I considered canceling the membership I just signed up for because now I was leaving on a birthday trip not like I payed to look for the celebration. Hesitant, I made another appointment, but, this time at Merrick Park location. Both Indira and Savannah listened to my past experience and went above and beyond to rectify it. I am so grateful to them both for their professionalism, expertise, and kindness. I am more than satisfied with the color, the styling. I recommend THIS Madison Reed location!!!!
