A girl in front, apparently named Maddie, was happy to help us and answer any questions we had. I bought 2 red velvet, 2 chocolate ganache, 2 chocolate buttercream, 3 vanilla buttercream, 1 white raspberry cupcakes, and a few vanilla macaroons. Altogether, this purchase came up to about $20. Long story short, no other place can compare to Sweet Spot Bakery. I wasn't sure what I got myself into, but I had no clue Sweet Shop would raise the bar to point where I don't think I can ever taste another cupcake the same way. I instantly knew by the softness of the macaroons and the moist sweetness of the cupcakes that I would be a regular at this establishment. And I have been! I've gone back at least every two weeks and have been recognized. If any shop could take my money and heart, I'm glad it's Sweet Spot!

I called and expressed my needs, the woman on the phone was very accommodating, she put a cake on hold for me. When I arrived I noticed that there's plenty of parking. It's a small bakery with a welcoming atmosphere. The woman that I talked to on the phone was even more helpful in person. The cake was absolutely delicious! The serving size that was told to me was true, the 6" cake served 6-8 people. I plan on returning to this bakery to try some other treats, especially the cannolis.

What's served here is closer to half moon, although I found the base very dry and the frosting too thin. Definitely a frosting though. Not much flavor from the chocolate. Lemony notes from either the white half or the base. Much like the muffin, not the best. Not the worst, either, but a lot closer to worst than best. I liked the atmosphere, the iced coffee, the vibe, and the cheerfulness of the ladies behind the counter.

Non-themed. Weird flavors. Regular flavors. All the flavors. And the staff is more than happy to answer every single question you may have to throw at them. For hours. It is a wonderful bakery of bundt cakes. Why can't they have more than one kind of frosting? I'm not asking for a frosting bar (although far be it from me to be the one to discourage that kind of thinking), but cream cheese frosting is a very specific flavor and not everybody likes it. Buttercream seems like a pretty easy, and the odds of someone liking it if they do not like cream cheese frosting are pretty good. She made me feel as though nothing mattered more than making my niece happy--true old-school customer service. We discussed several options, and then Keri joined us: the Picasso of cupcake baking and design. She was tremendous, and watching her sketch and talk through ideas was incredible. The baked bread products aren't that special or buttery, but the cake desserts (eh tiramisu) and chicken or beef empanadas are heavenly. For the price they ask for ($3.5 for tiramisu slice, $2.50 per empanada, which comes with delicious sauces), it is very reasonable. I think this is the only place worth visiting to grab a snack, or several snacks to equate a meal, if you are near Revere Beach station.
