We decided to hike around Stanley Park and decided the morning of the rent from Yes Cycle after seeing their good reviews. It was easy to sign up on their computers. They got us our helmets and bikes (2 adults and one teen size bike) quickly and pointed us to the park and odd we went! Super easy and they are very close to the bike path for the park. The ride took us about 1.5 hours despite a small detour and some stops. The Stanley Park loop (fyi one way going counter clockwise) was easy and a fun ride! It was a great way to see Stanley Park. $8 for the first hour includes your bike (road/ mountain), a helmet, lock, and basket. Your next rental hours are charged at $1 less each hour, so your 2nd hour will be $7, then $6, etc. This is the perfect location to grab a bike for a ride around Stanley Park along the seawall. A quick ride down Alberni St (2 blocks) and you're there! You can reserve ahead of time online, but they also take walk-in's. For a walk up, be sure to get there before 11am or so. We came at 9:30am on a Wednesday and the shop was steady. By the time we got back at 11:30am, the racks of bikes were pretty much empty. They only really had roller blades left. Staff was super helpful with adjusting our seats so that we were comfortable. The ride around Stanley Park was glorious! We made some stops and even locked up our bikes and back tracked back to the totem poles at some point. We took about 2 hours to ride around the perimeter. Bikes held up nicely. I've never rented a bike from a shop before, but my friend said ours were in very good shape (she has seen way worse). Drop off was a breeze -- we left our bikes with someone outside and paid with someone at the desk. Not a bad way to get around Stanley Park for only $15!

Best way to see the beautiful city of Vancouver is by renting a bike. A bus driver mentioned about popularity of rental cycle near the Stanley Park, I had to try. I didn't have reservation. Not sure why I chose this one but walked in and asked about rental. A staff was friendly with nice smile, decided to go with them. Rental process is easy. They have iPad set up to electronically process your rental and enter your credit card information there along with other details. Once credit card is processed, they gave me a helmet and bike lock. Stepped outside and another staff set up a basket and adjusted the seat. I ended up renting about 3 hours and had a really great time cycling at and around the Stanley Park. Return was easy. They scanned the bar code and charged the hours I rented. Be sure to check in on Yelp for some discount.

Affordable bike rental. I rented for two hours and it was $17. Super affordable for a ride around Stanley park. I totally recommend this place.

Regular Bike Rental: includes helmet, lock, and basket ($8.50 for first hour and drops a dollar each hour after until maximum of $40).

After comparing numerous bike rental shops based on their rates, proximity to the Vancouver Seawall, and inclusion of a helmet and lock, Yes Cycle was the best choice! Pricing starts at $8.50 for the first hour, and then each subsequent hour drops an extra dollar (e.g. the second hour would cost $7.50). So the longer you ride, the cheaper each hour gets until you hit the day maximum of $40. Otherwise, rentals are rounded to every quarter-hour. We rode our bikes around the seawall for a little over two hours, which cost us each $17.63. All of our bikes were in decent condition with working brakes and gear switches. A handy bike bell is also installed on a handle. The entire process was quick and the staff was happy to explain the routes on the provided maps.

Pros: - Bikes are super cheap ($8 for the first hour) and they were very responsive when we walked in to rent bikes. Plenty of options to choose from, including electric bikes evidently, too! - Super close to the Sea Wall! - Rentals include a helmet and a bike lock, and the option to put a basket on the bike as well. - Service is super friendly and helpful. Cons: One drawback is that the bikes aren't in the best shape. We're pretty avid riders back home and own road bikes, but were slightly disappointed by the quality of the bikes we rented. They did what we needed them to do, so no real complaints about anything in particular, but definitely older stock.

If you're thinking about renting paddleboards (or bicycles), Yes Adventures is the place to do it! For $38, you can rent a premium paddleboard - life vest, dry bag, and paddle all included - for two hours on the water. This is probably one of the best deals I've found in the city. Kevin, the GM is so wonderful and accommodating. Either he or one of the staff members drive/bike your boards to the beach and will set them up for you to make sure you're good to go. He can also give you some pointers if you're a first-timer or if you're looking for a specific paddle route to take. They also meet you back on the beach to pick up the boards. You can also pay for your rental before or after, but I'd recommend paying beforehand so that you can lay out on the beach after you're all finished. They also offer SUP lessons and guided tours, which is great if you're a first-timer. I'd rent boards + bikes from Yes Adventures over and over again!

First time at this SC location…read more I was completely impressed with my entire experience. The store modern, big and bright, with the best merchandising I've seen in a long time. When I first walked in, I was greeted with a smile by a girl working at a welcoming station at the front. I asked where men's shoes were, and she showed me, but also informed me that a sales associate that was in our vicinity could help me. Perfect ! I knew exactly what I needed. I showed him the item on my phone, he looked up the product # on his handheld and off he went to get it for me. He quickly reappeared with box in hand! The shoes were exactly what I wanted and they were on sale for a really great price. I went to the cash area, where there were a few people in front of me. I didn't have to wait for more than a minute or two before it was my turn. The cashier was also smiling and friendly. She showed me how to maximize my points on the Triangle App, then I paid and was on my way. This was a really great shopping experience with customer service that goes above and beyond.

Reza is a champ and immediately got to work. He went through the entire store and pulled so much for me and was so incredibly patient even as I started becoming more picky with the options. While helping me, he was also impressively attentive with another couple who seemed to be last minute shopping as well. Generally speaking, I was really pleased with all of the customer service through out the store. From the moment I walked in, to the check out process on my way out, everyone was super pleasant, even considering the fact that they were officially closed at the time I was checking out. Highly recommend in the Vancouver area for the service alone! Thank you again, Reza and Team!

When I walked in I felt out of place as most beginner snowboarders probably would feel. It just looked like a small, cramped board shop to me but compared to the other places, I'd take that over the stuffy, boutique type of shops the others seemed to be. Jess at West Coast was very helpful asking me questions to better hone in on what type of equipment would best suit me. She was super informative and didn't pressure me to commit to purchasing anything. In fact, she even told me to go to the other shops in the area to compare equipment and pricing. Pretty ballsy but it made me feel at ease right away. I went to all the other shops and no one made me feel comfortable about being there. Very few questions and assistance. Instead it almost felt like they were uptight because I may not have looked like a typical snowboarder. Needless to say I went back to West Coast and bought the lot, about $1500 worth of equipment. Then I put it to use going up to Whistler the next four days and loved every second of it. The board (Bataleon Goliath) performed great and my feet felt perfect throughout every run. Lastly, I would've given them 5 stars but the person helping my girlfriend with her ski boots was unknowledgeable and not a very big help to her. If you do go to this place go see Jess. There was another Aussie guy behind the counter that was giving his input and helping me out as well but I didn't catch his name. Mahalo, K

We did the entire 'snowboard alley' of W 4th and this place had by far the best deals. Not only were the prices better to begin with, they also carried more classic styles and colours in jackets and pants that suited my friend's fashion tastes. The staff were really helpful picking out a snowboard that was a great price, European-made and would last him for years. The graphics were pretty sweet, too. The board was freshly waxed and they set it up with the bindings in-store. In addition to already low prices and some sale items, the staff cut my friend a deal since he was buying a bunch of gear. It was the cherry on top! This shop also has non-snow-related sporting gear on the second floor.
