Mussel soup, Pajeon

The food and portion size is great. My friend and I shared some soju & mussel soup & pajeon and it was perfect. But you come for the ambience and the team staffed here. Great for large parties, would highly recommend!

Korean bar that gives you vibes of authentic Korean street food fused with classic American bar food staples. The atmorphere here is great and it's always a good time with friends. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 7/10 Design-wise the interior is what you would expect out of a bar. There is a decent amount of seating, probably able to seat 30-40. SERVICE: 8/10 Service was great. The servers/waiters were friendly and knew the menu well, being able to answer all of our questions as required. FOOD: 8/10 Kimchi Fried Rice - 7/10 - The kimchi fried rice to me was average overall. The flavors were all there but it was definitely on the wet/moist side, which generally fried rice should not be. Either it took up too much moisture from the kimchi or they were using fresh rather than chilled rice. Korean Fried Chicken - 9/10 - This was delicious. The appearance, aroma and flavor were all spot on. Our group destroyed this dish quickly. Bacon Cheese Fries - 8/10 - Solid dish. Not a dish that makes you want to come back here in particular, but there was nothing overtly wrong with it. Frozen Lychee Soju - 9/10 - This was great! Apparently these different soju freezes are a specialty here and I thought this one was excellent. VALUE: 8/10 PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 9/10 I would definitely come back here. A handful of other menu items were listed that I would be interested to try out. TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT: Eat! OVERALL: 8/10

Boksa: This cocktail was neither bitter nor sweet, but a fair amount of ice made the drink look deceptively full. Gochujang Rose Pasta: We were unsure of the long crispy parts, and they had a sweetness to them. The pasta itself was so delicious. I could eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This dish screams Korean-Italian fusion in the best way. Dak Nalgae: I forgot to choose "sauce on" or "sauce on side" as instructed on the menu, my bad. However, rather than ask me which option when ordering, the server didn't bring up my mishap and just...chose for me. "Sauce on" was the decision made that day. Was it the decision I would have chosen for myself? No. Was it a decision I wished someone asked me on? Well...obviously. Overall, pretty good in taste and texture! I do wish the pieces were either larger or greater in number for $20.

Been going to Yeowoosai for years since moving to Chicago. Recently visited and immediately noticed the changes in recipes with the popcorn chicken. Breading seemed way thicker than before. The meat is darker too changing the consistency and flavor. Bit of a bummer considering this used to be a staple. Another barrier was the 20% auto tip on the bill. When I went, there were only two of us dining in. Unsure when this was enforced, but a heads up or a sign would've been appreciated. Consider reverting to the former recipes and notify your guests ahead of time of the gratuity policy.

Yeowoosai is an excellent spot for a group of friends to hang out and get some food and drinks. Even though the small strip mall it's in is quite unassuming, you get greeted with busy Korean sports bar vibes once you enter (at least on a Friday night like I did). It's perhaps even more dimly lit than the ones in Korea. The food was pretty good overall! The budae jjigae is nice and spicy, perfect for a cold day. Given how large the pot is, I do wish they put more ramen in. My favorite dish I've had here is the kimchi bokkeumbap. It's basically a giant pot of kimchi fried rice and I highly highly recommend getting it Ultimate style. The cheese and kimchi combo is divine. The portion size is quite large and is definitely meant to be shared with many people. I've also tried their popcorn chicken which was just okay. Personally there was too much batter for me and the flavor wasn't outstanding. Service is pretty quick and the staff are friendly. My gripe is that if your party is too large (not sure how large), they don't provide actual plates and silverware and make you eat with paper plates, bowls, and disposable utensils. I don't agree with this policy at all and hope they consider revising it. Overall I think the food prices are fair especially given the portion sizes, while drink prices are on the higher end. That's not too surprising given its vibe though. Come with a group of friends and you won't be disappointed! Food: 3.75/5 Service: 2.5/5 Price: 3.5/5 (3 for drinks, 4 for food) Ambiance: 4/5 Overall: 3.5/5

Soju, insane size beer, scallion pancakes, rose dukbokki, japchae, octopus

Great place to drink and eat Korean food with friends. Quite far, east from Loloya University. The scallion pancakes were the highlight and of course beer. I've never seen that big of beer bottles, but I'm here for it. Say it louder in the back... Chicago needs more Korean bars with good drinking snacks!

I can't remember everything for the table nor can I pronounce most of it... so I write! and the servers are super chill about it

So I've been getting delivery from yeowoosai since late 2022 (OG : omurice & mango soju!) but it wasn't until late last month that I finally had the chance to have my omurice in person :') and I've been there 6 times in the barely 2 months since! From the food to the atmosphere to the servers to the drinks, head to toe it's always a perfect fit :)) whether you come when it's busy or slower or you're a party of 1 or 2 or 6, yeowoosai is a guaranteed great time (n_n) And I'm extreeemely awkward, so it's super easy for me to feel uncomfortable, but I always feel at home at ~*°yeowoosai°*~ 10 out of 10 would recommend (ñ_ñ) #LookForwardToIt

Bulgogi

My family and I came to eat at this restaurant because of the reviews and big portions. We always go to Gogi a couple restaurants down, but we wanted to try something new! We ordered the bibimbap, the bulgogi, seafood pancake, and salad with sliced brisket. I loved the portion size of the bibimbap. It fed all 4 of us perfectly and loved that it was on the hot plate too. The bulgogi wass good. It had good flavor and was tender. But I definitely liked the salad with brisket more. The meat didn't really have much flavor to it, but I really liked the dressing on the salad. It was sweet and sour and complimented the brisket perfectly! The seafood pancake was also good. It was kind of pricey to begin with and especially with the added seafood too. But it was really big. We asked for it to be made more crispy and it came out perfectly. Overall, the food was good and the manager was super friendly! The place is a bit dark, so idk if I'd come back just to eat, but if I wanted a late night snack and drinks, to hang with a few friends, and listen to K-pop, I'd come here!

Cozy place for hangout with a group of good friends. We were amazed by the amount of the servings. Even though we enjoy the food so much and eat more than usual. The leftover is far more than the servings in some other restaurant. Highly recommend.

Food was top notch! We had fried seaweed (so glad we tried it) soo good! Kimchi fried rice and chicken wings are always tasty. And enjoyed the peach flavored soju in a pitcher. Price is not bad because of the portion. I would have given 5 stars if we didn't have to wait too long to have our order taken,. Anyhow overall it was good!

If you are like me, trying to make that light, you will never see this place, but it is there and it is super cute. There is a lot of dark wood that just gives the space a cozy feel. There are also two garage doors that I assume can be opened when the weather is good. For you folks with dogs, beer drinkers who drink beyond the basic beers, bubble drinkers (like me) and those that want to bring in their own food...this is your place. We went there to meet some friends and to watch some football. For such a small place, they do have plenty of TVs with multiple games going. It was great to be able to have pizza delivered, with the bartender providing paper plates, and napkins for us to use. The bartender was also very cool about bringing our drinks over or picking up empties as we were sitting a a table away from the bar. I didn't get his name, but he was cool. There is street parking but not on Peterson itself. I would say, depending on the day, it might be hard to find a spot as you have to park on Ridge or some of the side streets. There is a new Metra station down the street that is about 2 blocks from the bar. Not sure if there is public parking available, but worth checking out. I could see myself coming here just because I can bring my own food and still get bubbles. While they do not carry bubbles by the bottle, the stuff they had in the can was good. I would love to go there when the weather is nicer and they have the garage doors open. And it is a happy compromise to hanging out with friends who have dogs that they just can't live without who also like to drink. This is a place we can definitely hang out with them and have a good time.

My recent visit, during the season's final Bears matchup, proved just how special this place is. Even with the restaurant packed and buzzing with excitement, the staff created an atmosphere that felt warm, welcoming, and comfortable. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine smiles and friendly energy. The staff was not only attentive but also mindful of everyone's comfort and safety, watching the door so the space never became a hazard. Despite the crowds, there was no sense of chaos--just a lively, fun vibe that made us feel right at home. Service at The Wild Goose is impressively quick and thoughtful. Our food and drinks arrived promptly, and we never felt like we were waiting, even though the bar was bustling. Special thanks to Will, Liz, Eddie, and Andrew, who made sure every detail was attended to. They checked in frequently, making sure our table had everything we needed and that our experience was as enjoyable as possible. The food lived up to the game day hype. The wings were outstanding--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly sauced. Drinks were delivered quickly and kept the good times rolling. But the real highlight of the meal was the bread pudding dessert. It was so delicious that I even ordered a serving for the table next to mine, convinced that everyone should experience it. If sweets are your thing, this dessert comes highly recommended. What truly sets The Wild Goose apart is the personal touch that runs through every aspect of the service. Sharing a dessert, cheering with friends, and being surrounded by attentive staff made the evening unforgettable. The Wild Goose knows how to make every guest feel special, even on their busiest nights. All in all, The Wild Goose is a wonderful place, full of great people and top-notch service. Whether you're in the mood for sports or simply want a memorable night out, you'll find the perfect blend of hospitality and flavor here. Don't miss the wings, and be sure to save room for the bread pudding!

As I was parking diagonally opposite the bar, the car alarm of a blue jeep in front sounded. I do not know what caused it - I did not come close to the other vehicle. Perhaps it was the fact that the dog that had been abandoned inside the car (it was 32f out so perhaps it was trying to keep warm) was jumping all over the place and set it off. Just as I was about to exit my car, a woman came up shouting "What the fuck are you doing? Do not fuck up my car you fucking asshole." When I stated that I had not come within two feet the other car, the lady identified herself as the owner of Wild Goose. Putting two and two together, I would guess that she saw me parking near her car and was in the bar setting off the alarm with her keys. I told her that I had planned on stopping in with my children but that this would no longer be the case. She replied, "Just go then. It's a great place." In short, the owner is a complete jerk. My kids had to witness the whole thing and all because she wanted to have two parking spaces to herself. Top this off with the fact that she left her dog in the car in freezing cold weather, I won't be returning.

So we knew we had to visit the Claddagh Ring Pub one of these days. This neighborhood pub on Foster Avenue received some interesting "pub" earlier this season when they promised to pay for all patrons' tabs if the Bears lost to the Broncos, and sure enough the Bears blew a big lead and Claddagh Ring Pub wound up on the news because of the promo. We finally made it here one random Sunday afternoon as we stumbled in after another Bears loss. The bar was pretty packed, but the owner was super friendly to us. He noted that there was a back room with some elbow room, along with some free tavern style pizza that was not gobbled up yet by the fans. Later when I went up to the bar to order drinks, he made sure that I had the chance to place a drink order with minimal waiting. What a swell guy! Loved my pint of Guinness! Good Delivery Food, But In-Person Service Needs Major Attention…read more I chose PrimeTime Bar for a friend's birthday celebration last night, fully expecting a great experience because I've always been so impressed with their delivery. The kitchen here usually delivers, but the in-person visit was unfortunately dragged down by highly non-attentive service. The bar was pretty quiet and not many people were there at the time. There's open seating, so we quickly sat ourselves. After no initial greeting from the server, we ordered a few drinks from the bartender. We sat for a staggering 45 minutes without a server checking in, offering drinks, or even bringing basic water to the table. I eventually had to get up to request water. When we did finally order, we ordered a few burgers and wings. The burgers were good as expected. The wings had a somewhat strange, possibly pre-breaded texture and were very large, although the flavor was okay. Not to mention the wings were dropped off without plates, so our party of 4 ate on napkins. To top it all off, we had to flag down our server just to pay the bill. It was incredibly disappointing service, especially when the Smashburger is above average. I won't be recommending the in-person experience to anyone anytime soon.
