I quite enjoyed the "capresi maki" that combined bufalo moz, raw salmon with basil, rice and sense me seeds that made for an interesting palate. The place was packed for sure!

I'm sorry but this rating requires an explanation. What's that you say? That's what Yelp is for? Oh…read moregood, then I guess I'm in the right place. Let me first start by saying that the sushi is wonderful, fresh, and delicious. The decor is impeccable, and the service is outstanding. Actually, the last part is a lie. The service is terrible, and even beyond the normal terrible service you've come to expect, if that's imaginable. I get it. It's different here, it's not about the service. I'm not even talking about that, I mean it's bad, as in leaving raw fish in the "window" for over 20 minutes, passing it no less than ten times bad service. But I digress. Yes the food quality is great; yes I'm happy to have sushi so close to my apartment, but under no circumstances can I consider paying a premium for the cost to quantity ratio that is nothing short of abysmal. The portions are very small. Normally, I eat one maki roll and some sashimi; here, I needed (not wanted) two maki rolls and sashimi and to be quite honest, I was still hungry. The rolls are rather uninspiring and lack the creativity that I've come to expect, and such is life. At these prices it pains me to say that my hunt for a regular sushi spot goes on. Damn you, Kibuka!

Love sushi but don't want to spend a fortune? I highly recommend The Hip Fish. I'm from the states…read moreso sushi burrito and poke bowls are super trendy right now so I was excited to find something similar here in Barcelona. The commute via walking was kind of annoying - lots of construction going on around this area so lots of dust. It's a tiny whole in the wall place but a large dining area upstairs. As soon as you walk in is where you order. I've posted pictures of the menu so you can better understand. The left side of the menu are the poke bowls. You can substitute rice for salad or kale if you would like. And the right side are the sushi burritos. Reasonable prices for the different bowl sizes. I got a medium size poke bowl and was satisfied. The sushi burrito was also filling although smaller then what I'm used to back in the states. Highly recommend: Rub the Salmon Bowl The Anchor sushi burrito Definitely coming back here again.

Can't have sushi burritos without avocado. Soooooo good!! Spicy with a sweet kick from the mango. This place is very clean and modern. They have seating upstairs with great music to listen to while you eat. Enjoy it with a beer or green juice, they have many options for drinks. Customer service is great! If you're in the area in Barcelona, you must check it out! You'll likely be close since Park Guell is walking distance. Come after and relax with some fresh fish in a poké bowl or burrito.

You cannot order sushi from the guys behind the counter which is kind of a bummer. We ordered the daily lunch menu. This includes 1 appetizer and 2 plates. If you're really hungry then there's an options for 3 plates. It also includes a half order of sushi but I highly recommend to get the full order for an extra 5 euros. The tofu and mushroom appetizer was very good. The tofu was very thick and creamy, not the type that you can buy at the store and it was topped with shemeji mushrooms and then based in some ponzu type sauce. Yum! The noodles and iberica jamon was a bit surprising. It was served room temperature with some nice flavorful and smoky pieces of pork. Broth was flavorful but just a bit too salty. Husband loved his mackeral stewed in miso broth and said it was totally comfort food. It came with golf sized pieces of taro and other vegetables. The full order of sushi was HUGE and comes at the end. It included 5 pieces of nigiri sushi (1 amazing chutoro) and 3 maki rolls of maguro, tuna, and cucumber. This will fill you up! Clean and tidy restaurant, nice service, and the food comes quickly. It's a bit pricey but worth it!

We were actually a bit late and they saved the table for us. V nice of them, didnt expect that. Anyway, we ordered the monk fish liver, green peas, philly roll, negihama, 1 order sake nigiri. OH and to drink, Had their sake and oyster special. Oysters were lovely Highlights Monkfish liver was huge - way bigger than in America (for once ;)). Flavor was nice as well, i'm not one to complain about big portions but after a while u get tired of liver. I took leftovers back to my parents. It came with a vinaigrette which cut the rich liver nicely. Green peas are mushed up into a rectangle cube - surprising. Fish/ rolls met my expectations. If i came back to Barcelona i wouldn't make it a point to come back here. Other than to try the horse tataki.
