This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

Walking down the street on Rambla and a "Huge Line" has gathered outside Cerveseria Catalana…read more Something special must be happening here to have this big of a crowd waiting. My son had been here last year and thought, it was a solid. We put our name in, went to a nearby park bench to wait and watch people for 50 minutes. The servers outside are grumpy as to many people are crowding the sidewalk and impeding his service. Finally, our name was called, were seated at the bar, and watched a chef make the magic dishes. The menu is huge and I can't help but watch the delicious dishes flying by us. So little time and yet so many great choices, this won't be easy. We began with the beef tenderloin montadito foie gras. It was presented as a open face sandwich on a bagette. We split it as it had a huge piece of foie gras. The tenderloin was tough and the tapas tasted like indivdual components, not a blended or refined profile. The grilled razor clams were nicely cooked, slightly gritty and needed to be washed more thoroughly. The Spanish omelet wedge was spiritual, dish of the night award. The onion made the dish! The sliced fried artichoke was finely shaved, and again lacked a enjoyable flavor that I would order again. The chips with fried eggs and Jabugo ham was different, tasty and a concept I would not of thought about. Delicious! Casveseria Catalanahe was packed and stacked for a reason. A high vibe and energy even in the face of a revolt at the check in desk from hungry dinners. I came say without hesitation, we will give them a second try. The staff was friendly, engaging, warm and a good sense of humor, nothing but smiles. I can't wait for our next trip to Cerveseria Catalana and let them tell me what to order. Good luck and see you sooner than later.

For our last night in Barcelona, we wanted to go out on a food bang, and where better of a place to…read moredo that than an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant? Situated on a side street off of the Gran Via, Furawa is an unassuming space with a split-level dining area and sushi bar. The inside is sparsely decorated, but very clean, and we were immediately greeted and seated by the host (who spoke Spanish, Catalan, and English) at around 8pm on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, but quickly filled up as we ate our meal. Since we were all hungry, and had a hungry teenage boy in tow, we all opted for the All-You-Can-Eat option, which is €15,80 per person - a great deal, especially compared to the €12,80 4-dish-option. The ordering process is through a small erasable pad (similar to an Etch-a-Sketch), where you write down the numbers of the corresponding menu items that you'd like, as well as the number of portions you want, and they take back the whiteboard each "round," and give it back once you get your food so you can order more. We found that this was an easy and efficient method! We started off with the Japanese Duck and the Grilled Baby Octopus - the duck was tender, moist, and well-seasoned, exceeding our expectations, and while the Octopus was by no means "Japanese" (it was in a sort of pesto-garlic sauce), it was also quite good, with a nice bite. Next came the Salmon and Tuna Nigiri - the fish wasn't the most amazing quality, but we liked how they didn't overportion the rice and skimp on the fish. Everything tasted relatively fresh, and the rice is also well-seasoned with rice vinegar. The Salmon Sashimi was also much better than expected - no weird aftertaste, and just rich enough without being overly fatty. We got multiple portions of nigiri and sashimi! We also ordered an assortment of rolls, including Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon rolls, Shrimp Tempura rolls, Masago rolls, Tuna Hand Rolls, and various rolls with Black Rice. Everything tasted pretty standard, though my dad and brother really liked the rolls with deep-fried elements (e.g. tempura, fried onion crisps, etc.), as they added a nice textural contrast. We also enjoyed how the rolls aren't overly seasoned with mayo or cream cheese, and you can taste the fish! I personally liked the Black Rice rolls, which were different than your regular old sushi roll, and had a more complex taste. After a couple rounds of orders, we were all stuffed, except for my brother, who ordered a Miso Soup and Udon to finish out his meal. He said that the miso soup tasted authentic and not overly salty, and his udon was the perfect combination of sweet and salty - a great savory dish to end the meal! Overall, Furawa exceeded our expectations for an all-you-can-eat-sushi place. The quality of the fish is decent, and the price is really reasonable, especially if you have big eaters in your party. Service is friendly and fast, the restaurant is clean, and the food is tasty - a good place to get your sushi fix in Barcelona!
