Second Yelp night out! Thanks so much for the tickets! I…read morelearned alot about whiskey that night but...I forgot it all...darn that whiskey!!! I tasted the Piehole first and I know I said the Larceny 92 proof would be my last. Then I saw the second table of whiskey and gave in to the strawberry one since my soul was on fire from the Larceny still. What two whiskeys I had inbetween I can't remember. That Piehole was to die for though! Pecan Pie Whiskey?!?! I usually gag at the thought flavored whiskey but man that stuff was good. If you want to get a party started the quickest way would be the Larceny though haha. DONUTS. I came in knowing my favorite: Howard's all the way!!! But I found a new favorite: Jody's Donuts. The ladies from Jody's were so awesome (the only people I saw from the respective donut places) and I knew immediately that I had to ask about the one with bananas on it. They sold me on it and just when I regretted taking it, I took a bite and went into Elvis/doughnut/childhood memory nirvana. Gotta go by their shop now! Gibson's were actually on point that night even though I am usually the hated one in Gibson's debates.

I was here, and I wasn't really here... So much donuts and whiskey…read more.. Okay, settling down. I had to shoot some hoops to see if I was able to drive home. And since I missed majority of those shots, I suppose I am! Did you guys noticed that the Yelp panties are perfect for spider man cosplay? Who's going to be my Peter while I be your Mary Jane? Did Deanna just pack a whole box of donuts home? Above statements were part of the saved draft... So, I guess I had fun last night! Those pecan pie tasting whiskeys are killer. I'm also very happy that I tried donuts from 3 different vendors and donut holes from 2. Unfortunately, Gibson's took the crown and run away with it. Gibson's donuts are the best. Rec Room is awesome. I can't think of a better location for an event like this. Whiskey, donuts, and video games! Generation Y, represent!

Firstly, I loved the setting on Beale Street at the new Tin Roof restaurant. The building designers knocked the walls out of ground floor of the old Hard Rock Cafe. It's now SO open and airy. The Feng Shui is SO much better! I adored the upstairs area as the setting for the CMYE party - it would be a great space to rent out for a casual private party. OKAY...SOOOOO...THE FOOD...WAS...DELICIOUS!! I write that in all caps because I was expecting bar food, not prawns, brisket and bread pudding. A staffer told me this is their regular food. I just didn't expect that at a laid back venue with bands that perform regularly. The brisket LITERALLY melts in your mouth. It was perfectly seasoned AND they have it every Monday. I love that they have set meals for each specific day of the week. Very Southern. The staff was particularly nice and every time they delivered a dish, they told you the name of the dish and ingredients. They had a cover band performing on the ground floor and it served as a neat backdrop. He was singing his little heart out. I rolled out of that place, fat and happy! THANKS AGAIN, JOELLE!

The energy in the place is infectious and it is the kind of restaurant you want to come back to again and again. I ordered the Wildfire Burger, and it is honestly one of the best burgers I have had. It is made with black angus beef, 44 Farms Philly Steak, queso, peppers, onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, and Pepper Jack, all served with hand cut fries. Every bite was bold, juicy, and packed with flavor. The hand cut fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned to match. We also shared the Hot Mama 12 inch pizza with a chicken substitute, and it was outstanding. Fresh herbs, tomato sauce, mozzarella, red pepper flakes, basil, and local honey on a perfectly baked crust. The combination of heat and sweetness from the honey made it stand out from any pizza I have had recently. The menu here is creative and extensive, covering everything from shareables and salads to burgers, sandwiches, bowls, and saucer pies. There is truly something for everyone. The service was great and the whole experience felt well put together from start to finish. If you are looking for a fun night out with great food and a lively crowd, Flying Saucer is the place to be. Highly recommend!

There is a little bit of natural light that comes in if you are near a window. Their menu is sort of small with some salads, sandwiches, burgers and a few plates. They have a lunch special which is a pretty good deal for only $15.95. They have some good looking eggrolls and are sort of known for their cheeseburger soup. I was in the mood for fish and they offered it 3 different ways. I tried the blackened catfish plate with steamed veggies and twice baked potato with an unsweet tea. My colleagues also all had catfish (but fried) and one of my clients had the meatloaf special. Everything was really good, but I was starving afterwards. The best item was the catfish, it was plump and juicy and well seasoned. The veggies were mushy, twice baked was decent but mainly because of the cheese layer. The hush puppies are standard ones. The fish also comes with a small cold slaw.

I really wish they had Louisiana hot sauce or at least a sauce with some real kick to go with it. I enjoy the side salad and the champagne dressing too. One thing that I heard is really popular is their buffalo wing eggrolls. You get three but they are actually pretty filling. I tried them and really enjoyed them. I also had their cheese sticks and they were great too! The marinara sauce includes some cheese as well so it makes it a little different in a good way. The parking is pretty limited but the place is nice and the servers are very kind. It gives the typical dive bar aesthetic (dark setting, neon lights, nice bar, etc.). I will tell you that even with the small amount of customers there, the wait time for food can be 15-20 minutes even if you are taking your food to-go.
