The name of the little motel we're staying at and I have to say it's pretty clean for being older

This little hidden gem here is one of the cleanest little motels I've ever been in I have to say the young lady that's running this is doing an amazing job we've just traveled three different states and we've we've stayed in $300 hotels and we've stayed in 75 dollar hotels and I have to say this is the best one in the last 4 days that we've been in what amazing little motel / inn I highly recommend this to anybody

This is the sign you're lookin' for

I know you can't expect chain hotels in small cities, but we were pleasantly surprised during our stay in Murfreesboro while we mined for precious things at Crater of Diamonds. My husband cringed when the silhouette of the dated building into view. "Did you really book us in a roach motel?" I pleaded: "THEY GOT GOOD REVIEWS, DAMNIT!" When we finally pulled into the lot, we noticed how incredibly clean the outside of the buildings looked- almost as if they kept them pressure-washed to look spiffy. I gave them a mental nod of approval. Check-in was friendly and quick, which was great because we were ready to crash. A sign above the bed read "Yellow Diamond Inn, Founded in 2016." So any of the more older reviews about bed bugs, you should reconsider because it looks like someone new and better took over. Beds: some of the better mattresses I've slept on in hotels and the pillows were juuuust right. I even dug the lightweight bedspreads that kept just the right amount of body heat. Definitely a simple little place, but it's quiet, comfy, and a good price if you're trying to find a good place to stay to hunt diamonds.

Bed bug on the pillow :(

Check for bed bugs! The motel seemed clean and updated, but when I did my bed bug check there was a live one on the pillow in the room. I looked online and the pictures seemed to match so I left and went somewhere else to think about how to tell the front desk as they seemed pretty uninterested at check-in. The next morning I go to the office which still had an awful stinch to it. I talked to the guy at the desk and showed him the picture and he claimed that someone must have brought it in as they have memory foam mattresses that don't house bed bugs (FYI they can live in carpet and curtains too). I asked about a refund and was told no. It was only $60 so oh well I guess. I should have known better with the price but the reviews were decent for a small town place.

One of few places open near the diamond digging place. Did some digging, did a canoeing deal during the day, and needed a place to stay. Clean room, place has good wifi to watch netflix, and a pool. Yes, it's old and not up to par with the nice hotels, but it is pretty good for what it is. If you are digging for diamonds, this is a good place to spend the night or two.

Great location, very clean! The office clerk was really nice and helpful. The cost seemed fair when compared to other locations.

It was a holiday weekend so maybe couldn't get a guy out to fix the direct tv - overall a great experience and would definitely recommend to stay! Admittedly our family is a little particular. OK maybe very particular. We searched the immediate area and found this location but we're skeptical. The reviews on another site we're actually stellar which capped off our decision to try something a little unique and we were not disappointed. Samantha's timber Inn appears to be an old style motel that has been completely renovated. Each room as unique as the website indicates with a specific theme. Ours was a boat theme and the pictures posted here don't do the place justice. Tongue and groove pine board paneling and matching decorations down to the shower curtain made you feel like you were in a ship. The space is sprawling including a separate bedroom with a queen size bed. It was meticulously clean and very well appointed. TVs, microwave, coffee maker with coffee and condiments. Super plush towels. Comfortable beds. Wi-fi. We had just pulled in and I received a call asking if we arrived OK and had found the key under the doormat as promised. Check out was smooth and easy. We felt incredibly comfortable in the space and would recommend it to anyone but especially a family.

Had a great experience staying in the jail-themed cabin…read more The whole place is cute, fun, and cool. Not strong vocabulary words, I know, but as looking at any of the buildings made me happy, as doing the activities made me smile, and as others have commented positively on my photos, those are the words I've chosen. The cabins are cool on the inside too. We were tempted to go to Miss Kitty's, but based on the description of that cabin and the fact that we are family, we decided that cabin would be sickening for us. Better for a couple. The jail was cool on the inside. There is a jail area with a door that closes but doesn't latch or lock, so you could pretend to "lock" someone in jail, but there is no risk involved. Seems like a perfect room for kids, though we were grown adults. I could have done with no photos of dead outlaws on the wall. I mean, sure, ones who aren't alive anymore, but there were a couple of photos of men right after they were killed and that was a bit disturbing. I would LOVE to see some female outlaws represented in the room! We broke the law and were forces to be reckoned with too, ya know! There are lots of things to do. A general store has some essentials and candy (but I repeat myself, lol). There's a rope spider web to navigate, a giant trampoline-like thing, pedal cars, a corn pit, a playground, rubber duckie races, and various other activities. Great place to take kids of any age. I'm over 30. Kids can run all over the place after a long car trip and get that energy out. You won't rough it at Diamonds West. Our room had a jacuzzi tub. Happiness. And a good front porch from which you can see what's going on in town and read your book. More happiness. They had bonfires every night when it got dark. Not at teepees as advertised on the website. Maybe the teepees are for a different time of year or maybe they aren't PC these days. Not sure. But no matter. I didn't have any issues with cleanliness as some other reviewers mentioned. Our bedding was fine and we had enough t.p. (no pun intended), towels, etc. Our cabin had a musty smell, but it reminded me of when I used to go to camp, so that isn't out of the ordinary. I'd definitely stay here again.

We happened to book the cabin when it was super cold but did get to participate in some of the activities. The peddle cars were either broken or way too hard to maneuver; the basketball was old and wouldn't bounce. There was only one employee in November and that made it difficult to communicate. The fire in the tepee was wonderful but only lasted a little while. The undertaker cabin was large and had two nice queen beds but was limited on decor.

The room smelled nice, the mattress was awesome, water was hot, plenty of clean towels and overall very clean. The rooms have a fridge that gets really cold, a microwave and a coffee machine. The motel ice machine works (which seems to be an issue for some motels recently where we have stayed), the room was quiet and the parking spaces in front of the rooms are oversized to the point where there is no way for a car/truck door to touch the vehicle next to you. The only downside was no pool but we knew that before coming here so there was no disappointment. You can not beat the price for what you get and we would definitely stay here again! If coming to dig for diamonds we highly recommend Southern Dine in Murfreesboro for breakfast! Also recommend a trip up to Mt Ida to the crystal mines. No matter what mine you go to you will bring home something pretty so you are not empty handed when you don't find any diamonds. :). It you decide to try the free Crystal Vista state park, be prepared for a mile hike UPHILL to get to the abandon mine. Overall great TRIP!
