I shouldn't have worried at all. The employees are very friendly; we had a late evening arrival and the desk manager called to make sure that they would be there to help us when we got there and to wish us a safe trip. The room was clean, a/c was cold and the bed was pretty comfortable. It is an older motel, but in good condition. The outside noise was a little hard to get used to the first night, but cranking the a/c up fixed that problem. The only real negative is that the floor (red carpet) does leave color on socks. It does wash out without special cleaning treatments though. Western Sizzlin is next door - good service there too.

I…read moreagree with others who note this is the only decent hotel in the area, but I think it's one of the best Holiday Inn Express location I've stayed at. People are friendly, prices are decent, but for me the fact that the temperature is easy to control and consistent is a huge deal! I think a big part of that is that there's an easy to use digital THERMOSTAT I can adjust rather than a clunky control on the wall unit. They just completed a remodel that looks great. All the brown wood cabinet, granite counter tops and dated furnishings are gone. New paint, new bathroom fittings and new furniture (including beds) make this hotel even better. My only complaint is that the "free breakfast" served across all the Holiday Inn Express locations need updating. A decent bagel and better OJ would be a good step up. Next time I'm in town this is where I'll be staying.

Samantha's timber Inn appears to be an old style motel that has been completely renovated. Each room as unique as the website indicates with a specific theme. Ours was a boat theme and the pictures posted here don't do the place justice. Tongue and groove pine board paneling and matching decorations down to the shower curtain made you feel like you were in a ship. The space is sprawling including a separate bedroom with a queen size bed. It was meticulously clean and very well appointed. TVs, microwave, coffee maker with coffee and condiments. Super plush towels. Comfortable beds. Wi-fi. We had just pulled in and I received a call asking if we arrived OK and had found the key under the doormat as promised. Check out was smooth and easy. We felt incredibly comfortable in the space and would recommend it to anyone but especially a family.

Rooms are very well maintained and kept clean. No loiterers outside, unlike other hotels on this vacation, and no smoking anywhere. This all shows, and it's why we're at the top. What I'd like to see for 5 stars: quieter room A/Cs, slightly softer beds, room lights a little less obnoxiously bright (no lamps, it's just a few overheads - all or nothing it feels like). It's close. A good choice for Mena travelers.

The lobby is large with area to sit as well as fish tank and snacks available for purchase. The room was clean with modern furnishings (sans the old microwave lol but if it ain't broke why replace it?) with everything in good repair. We felt quite comfortable. The A/C unit is very powerful and effective. The beds are wonderfully cushioning and I fell asleep easily and awoke well rested! The shower has two knobs and confused me at first but will deliver soothing hot water with an easy-going flow. The toilet paper was cheap and awful but LOL. We did notice a weird smell by the sink but it didn't permeate the room so it didn't bug us too much. Considering this was the only thing wrong with the place, we felt lucky after a string of very hit-or-miss other motels along our route. This location is near the freeway but thankfully the noise isn't too disturbing. There's a lovely pool in the back which we unfortunately didn't have time to check out. However there was an amazing continental breakfast downstairs, with waffle makers, mini muffins, cereal, yogurt, and Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. Such delight! We'd forgotten this simple pleasure while so many motels are still using COVID as an excuse to not provide this once expected service.
