Charlie Chan anyone? It seems that Yellow Cab really hit it big with this pasta offering as there are only a few pizza places that serve pasta as good as their pizza. Charlie Chain is basically spaghetti tossed in olive-based sauce with chicken pieces, peanuts, mushrooms and a whole lot of herbs. While I'm not a fan of spicy noodles, Yellow Cab's Charlie Chan forces me to convert to the spicy side as I've been known to finish a whole order myself - along with a liter of water. Yellow Cab is surely one of the few local brands that has impressed me due to their marketing strategy. Being a local brand comes as a surprise to many people as the brand seems to exude international appeal. But no, that's definitely the catch. Yellow Cab is 100% proudly Pinoy made.

For pizza, I love the Dear Darla which is actually a panizza --- urban legends claim that the term is a hybrid of pizza and panini(?). The Dear Darla is a thin crust pizza pie that comes with a box of arugula leaves and alfalfa sprouts. To eat it, you are supposed to layer some of the sprouts and leaves on top of the pizza and then roll it like a burrito. The crisp and clean flavor of the greens provides a refreshing contrast to the greasiness of the meat and cheese. For dessert, a quarter pint of pistachio ice cream is the bomb. I unashamedly admit that I've tasted several brands that taste better than Yellow Cab's ice cream but I can't resist collecting the cute cans that they come in.

One slice was actually enough but I ended up getting full with a second one. Talk about Pepperoni overload! Crust was just right, having a fluffy texture that's addicting for me to chew on. Their pizza is rich with cheese tomato sauce and the dough is just soft. It's just a simple but awesome pizza. There's no more to it than that. Their pizza doesn't rely on any sort of gimmick to make it good and that for me is what really makes it good. The size is well, humongous. This was the first pizza I ever tried where a single slice was more than enough to satisfy my cravings. When I first gave this a try the only flavor I ever had was either cheese or pepperoni. I'm not entirely sure if there are new flavors, but in all honesty they wouldn't need it. In fact, I would choose this pizza over any other, with the only exception being perhaps Brooklyn's pizza. In the Philippines, they started quite a trend by offering affordable two pieces at 55 PHP, which was then copied by numerous competitors who also set up their own stand for an on-the-go pizza. Their strategy is simple; sell it cheap, sell it quick, and sell it good. With their reliable and easy to remember hotline (9111111), they have reach practically anywhere in Metro Manila, and rates that cannot be beaten. If you're into fast food pizza, this one is the classic to go to; it still stands out as the benchmark for which its competitors really have to try their best to match or excel at what deals they can provide you!

Apart from their interior, their delivery vehicles are also yellow scooters. What I like about this place is their wings, pizza, and pasta. Their wings seem like they are deep fried and glazed with some kind of sauce. The meat is juicy and the chicken is crispy. Aside from the usual taste of fried chicken, it also has that mild spiciness. For people who would like it a bit more spicy, they have chilli pepper sauce that you can use. Their pizza is great. Their pizzas have a thin crust and are topped with your choice of meat and vegetables. My mom's favourite here is the New York's Finest because it's a combination of meat and different spices and toppings like olives and bell peppers. What I like about this pizza is that the toppings are balanced so they don't give that too meaty or too stale taste. Their new pizza, "The Dear Darla Pizza, is really something different. The pizza is also a thin crust pizza with minimal toppings. It comes with a box full of some kind of leafy veggie and some sprouted mongo beans I think..It's then sliced into rectangles. The way to eat this pizza is to get a rectangular slice and then put the veggies on it. The slice is then simply rolled. It's basically like a pizza burrito with vegetables inside. The flavour is really balanced. The sweetness and flavory of the pizza is complemented by the veggies perfectly. A wonderful place to get some wings and pizza.

So a Yellow Cab meal for me is a pack of Hot Wings paired with its Charlie Chan pasta. The chicken wings are not too heavy on the coating, but are hefty and moderately spicy.
