I never take cabs anymore, but last night at Northlands we decided to flag one down. Past experiences with Uber trying to find me at the grounds prevented me from using ride share. The cab driver was very polite. The cab was scrupulously clean. Smooth driving. He said "Home sweet home" upon drop off. Did not surcharge. Maybe have to rethink Uber. read more

yesterday I took a cab from YEG airport (6pm). It was the worse cab I've ever driven in. The driver couldn't read the GPS and kept asking if he should go right and every turn was left! I got so mad at him I was raising my voice. He was absolutely unfit for purpose and all for a cost of $96! He didn't listen, he couldn't read and he certainly could not follow simple instructions. He should NOT be driving a cab, or anything else. He's dangerous. read more

NO STAR!! Bad service with this freaking cab company!! I reserved a cab for 2:35 today!! Lady at the other end didn't know what the hell she was doing!! No cab showed up!! Call them back and told me there was no free book cab!! I asked to speak to manager they hang up in a couple times never taken this cab company again read more

Don't bother booking in advance through the app, even 1.5 hours like I did because they don't guarantee apparently. They don't notify the driver until 10-15 minutes and if the weather is bad then they don't have enough time to come. Well that's why people book in advance. My driver came 35 minutes late and when I called to Question their system I was met with the rudest dispatch/manager ever instead of being professional- belittling and condescending for just asking then hung up me (I was not yelling or anything) . Over 24 years of using them and this is how they treat people. I don't use Uber out of loyalty but if this is how they treat people it's no wonder others do. Perhaps complaints to the City will yield better results. Ridiculous read more

I requested yesterday a taxi as I had an appointment at the vet clinic for my cats vaccination. The 1299 taxi was going to pick me up. The website said the taxi was 6 minutes away from my place and said this for 10 min. I called the driver and told him I have an appointment and I wanted to know if he was coming. He finally came 15 after he was supposed to arrive and saw the backpack carrier with my cat and refused to do the trip. I missed the appointment. The backpack carrier for small animals is completely closed. I talked to the company and they blamed me I didn't talk to an operator to ask for a special transportation. i find this outrageous ! I think will never use this company again! read more

Rudest dispatch I have ever encountered 100 percent of the time. Yellow cab and barrel taxi.

I just took a yellow cab trip. It was the most disgusting experience I have had in a long time. The interior was very dirty and smelled strongly of urine. I was feeling very nauseous by the end of a10 minute ride. Do you people not clean your cabs??? I will not be using yellow cab again and will advise others to avoid as well. read more

At 430 pm on Saturday, November 23, I took Taxi 711 from Callingwood Safeway. I had the most courteous, cheerful, and helpful driver for this short drive. Called yellow cab, driver wasn't paying attention when I was waving to him ti cone closer. Wasn't a rush but he thought that I was upset, which I never was. Then he thought that I slammed the door, closed it how I usually do. Decided to not bother with this guy and left the cab after giving me a lecture. Guess I'll go tomorrow. 50% of the drivers are great, the rest .... Not sure if I'll call them again. read more

I took a yellow cab this morning. The cab shows up quickly, the vehicle is clean inside. The operator knows exactly where we want to go. In fact he drove us using the shortest distance to get there. The only thing that bothers me is that he didn't use his seatbelt. This is a 2nd time it happened to us, the 1st when were on a Co-op cab. read more

No one speaks English at all. Not even enough to understand where to go. I said left they turn right. Would give a zero star rating, but that is not an option. Warning to others - DO NOT do an online booking for a wheelchair taxi van off this page https://edmtaxi.com/disabilities/ After Yellow Cab no-showed to pick up my mother on Christmas day, the rude dispatcher then tells me that I should have pre-reserved the wheelchair taxi van via phone!? Call Royal Wagon for a wheelchair van instead and use Uber for other rides. This company can't even handle their booking system - let alone trust them with anything else. read more

I had a wonderful experience today. The driver picked me up at the requested time. He took a shortcut through the neighborhood that I did not know about to my destination. would give 0 stars if possible. Terrible customer service. Trying to retrieve something left in a car and got passed around to several different people in different departments for a week with nothing being done. Would rather walk than take this company again. read more

I had such a great experience with this cab company. I hardly ever take a cab but my car needed work and I needed to get home as you never know how long car repairs will take. The cab was immaculately clean, no smell at all (except maybe new car smell ) and the driver was very friendly and polite. He arrived only a few minutes after I ordered the cab, and he took a direct route to my house. As I said I don't often take cabs but the next time I need one I know who I'm calling. read more

Very rude drivers, customer service. I've been lectured by my driver in the past for paying with debit instead of cash. I've been lectured by a driver because they got the address wrong I had to walk a block to the taxi which caused me to be late for work, I did not care about them being in the wrong spot but the driver still took 5 minutes to lecture me. The drivers and customer service make you feel belittled if you complain about anything this company does. They do not resolve customer issues at all. I'll be switching to Uber, even if I have to pay more it's worth it for a service that makes customers feel SAFE for a service they PAY FOR. I do not recommend. Retrain your customer service they are horrible with resolving customer issues and complaints. read more

We were going to a party with unlimited alcohol and wanted to enjoy it so we took a cab. It was a Saturday during the holidays so I called an hour and half in advance. The dispatch person must have been new as I heard another voice beside him telling him what to say. The cab arrived right on time and we received a call to inform us he arrived. The seating in the back seemed a little worn as this cab had probably been in use for years. It was clean but a little cramp in the seat behind the driver. He didn't talk much or use his cellphone at all. He didn't take any detours along the way so we arrived at our destination in good time. I asked about calling for a cab to go home and he said we should be good as long as it was before 11. Calling for the return cab, I asked if it arrive in half an hour. The dispatch said she couldn't guarantee that but the wait time in the area was about that time frame. I asked if the driver could call upon arrival but she said it was dependant if they had a cell. About 10 minutes later, I received 2 missed calls on my cell. I went out and found the cab waiting for us. We waited a few minutes for the others to arrive and the driver moved to the other door. This cab seemed more comfortable and not as worn. We dropped off a friend before coming home. It was the holidays and we gave him a good tip and it was great to see a smile on his face! For a cold night and roads not so great, I'm glad we arrived home in good time and safe. Would book Yellow Cab again if needed. read more

They ignore rules on the road and drivers! Two drivers parked in no stopping area, and when I honked they didn't move. Not professional at all infact in my opinion after this driver I'd argue the same terrible service as I was avoiding when I did not call Coop. Before even entering the cab he told me I had to tell my kids they could not act like THAT, "excuse you, they are boys in their yard, and then he tried manplauning a whole lot of bull shit that my 6 yr ild could not sit in the back unattended,. Of course I wasn't having any of it, Literally writing this review as im right by him, and he has the nerve to take a call (not hands free) awful service. Absolutely WORST service I've ever gotten from a cab company. We took cab #113. I was going from jasper Ave to southwest with my fiancé, and he felt sick to his stomach and threw up (mostly outside of the car, there was barely any in the back seat). The cab driver then tells me promptly it is a 150 dollar clean up fee.....WHAT?! I just took a 25 min cab ride, already spending 45 dollars, and I was 10 seconds from my house when he drives to drop that on me! To make matters worse I tried to pay the total amount of 200 dollars on my debit, but he insisted I pay cash.... so he drove me to the gas station atm, causing me meter to once AGAIN go up. It seems to me he wanted to keep some under the table for himself, but that's just my guess... After that night I called the dispatch and asked about this so called "clean-up fee" (which by the way isn't posted anywhere in the cab), and the guy told me it's only 80 dollars, not 150!!! Needless to say I will NEVER take a yellow cab ever again. What a sketchy company!! read more

I had the unfortunate mishap of being stuck in the middle of nowhere once, after an unsuccessful visit to the Purolator office in town, and really just wanted to be home asap. There was a bus route, but the bus came every hour, and I refused to wait around that long, especially when I was all alone. So I called Yellow Cab, and they arrived promptly in about 10 minutes. The cab driver didn't see me and drove past me at first; he then called me (since they had my number) and turned around for me. He was friendly enough, but didn't make any attempt of small-talk, which was fine with me. It ended up costing me $40 to get across town and get home, but I suppose that's a normal rate for that distance with cabs. I was just glad to be home! I Asked driver if he could wait for a few minutes while I went Into the store to grab a few things. Driver snapped at me to hurry up and that he was starting the meter. I was no longer than a few minutes in store, as I got back into vehicle the Driver had starting to pull ahead before I could get my door closed..the fair was $7.20 the first trip nd $11.40 the second for the most part yellow cab is comfortable but not this time. Booked a yellow cab this week as I can't drive due to a hand surgery the previous day. Cab 201 came within 10 minutes which is the only good thing I can say. The cab was absolutely filthy from the floor, up the doors and on the ceiling . I don't think it has been cleaned in years. The driverr said he owned the cab and had been driving for 15 years but he had no idea where to go . I had to give him directions. I did mention the state of the cab and all he did was shrug it off. If my pain killers hadn't worn off I would have gotten out and called another cab read more

I have been a faithful customer for 2 years now with yellow cab. I take taxis twice a day on weekdays and sometimes more as I do not drive. I have never had a bad experience. All the drivers are polite and some extremely friendly. I have gotten to know many drivers as they drive me often and they always drive safely. I've even had some take me to my destination and drop me off and chose to stay and wait knowing I would need a taxi home even though the meter was not running! That's true customer service. Thank you yellow cab for All you do! read more

Today, I had an extremely unpleasant experience with Edmonton Yellow Cabs. Originally, I had booked two bookings a month ago for my school for a basketball game. Unfortunately, only one showed up on time while the other arrived for pickup one hour later than my originally scheduled appointment. As a result, my basketball team had to run a limited amount of players. Ultimately, this resulted in us losing the game and our chances of making the playoffs. This may seem like a menial complaint, but the reality of the situation is that when you book an appointment and pay a fee, a certain quality of service is expected, and one of those, would be to arrive on the scheduled time. The fact that I originally received a text saying two cabs were coming on time, but one later backed out, is absolutely ridiculous. As a customer that has frequently called on Edm. Yellow Cabs to provide its service, I will now be looking to alternative services. The system of booking and ensuring cabs is completely flawed and inefficient. read more

On May 2, 2017 YellowCab#619, driven by Serge Badio, parked illegally in a private residential parking lot without authorization. When I told that only authorized vehicles were permitted to park there (pointing to the clearly visible signs) he immediately started swearing and threatening me, then, when starting to pull out of the stall, intentionally attempted to hit my son, who was 7 years old at the time. When I reported him to his superiors at YellowCab, they refused to do anything about it...nor was there ever any apology offered! And, to add insult to injury, Serge demanded I be charged for protecting my son from his deliberate attack...the Crown saw there was no case and let me off without a record... Let this be a warning to any YellowCab riders, especially those with young children! read more

I vowed never to give these guys my hard earned dollars again but when my boyfriend took a tumble out of a city bus at the mall and sprained his ankle we needed a ride home and we needed it fast. I saw one of these guys rolling through the Londonderry parking lot and quickly dialed the number only to have my call answered by the cities most unqualified taxi dispatcher. I let him know we were at the lower 66 street east entrance and he informed me he could not find it on his list of destinations and proceeded to rattle off the location of every other entrance except the one I was at. He asked me twice if we would mind walking to one of the destinations he had listed even though I informed him my boyfriend had a sprained ankle and needed to minimize his walking. I gave him the number of the cab that drove past and asked if he could radio and ask the driver of that cab to come back if he didn't have another fare or to at least give the dispatcher some directions he could understand as I was not getting through to him and he told me no. Finally I just had enough and told him I would find another cab and he really didn't seem to care that much or try to get me to change my mind. What kind of company is so reliant on a list of pre determined trip destinations? Isn't a big part of working in that industry being able to find your way around even if you haven't been to every destination prior? Just more terrible customer service from a terrible cab company. read more

It's really touch and go with this cab company! Some days I would give them no stars other days I'd like to give them 5 stars. So I'm going to meet in the middle with 3! What I like about this company is their smart phone app. While many have complained about it, I've never personally had an issue with it. My taxi always comes quickly and it's nice to not have to wait on the phone, and have the option to book our cab in advance. My largest complaint with yellow cabs is the lack of knowledge the drivers have. If you're providing the service of getting me from one location to another, it's your responsibility to know how to get there! I should not have to use my GPS on my phone to get us there. Another complaint I have is the extra $3 service charged I'm charged on weekend nights! While I understand it's an added fee to supplement the bar scene. But when I'm leaving work at 10pm to go home, I don't feel it's fair to me. Sure I can use other means of transportation, however it's a long bus ride and I'm lazy some nights! Lol... This service charge should be used after midnight when picking up in the bar district. For the most part I find drivers to be friendly enough. Usually talking on their phone, but that doesn't bother me as I'm usually preoccupied with my phone! read more

Make sure you know exactly where you are going, I have used this cab service three times now and every time the cabbie purposely drives in a circle or in the wrong direction/a longer route for a while to rack the meter up. The last time I used this service I made a comment about how he was going in the opposite direction of my destination, he took a whole $2 off my cab fair (which I'm sure he had been driving a lot more than $2 worth in the wrong direction). Never waited more than 5-10 minutes for this cab service but they definitely like to take advantage of their customers and purposely try to make them pay more than they should. read more
