Yesterday afternoon, I was driving eastbound on 137th Ave. A cab from this company was in front of me (car 107, to be precise). The driver changed into the right hand lane, as if he was going to turn right onto St. Albert Trail. Just before we got to the lights at St. Albert Trail, he suddenly switched back into my lane, about 10 feet in front of me, and slammed on his brakes. We were less than 30 feet from the intersection, and the light had just turned yellow. He could have safely proceeded, but chose not to. With his completely unsafe maneuver, there was virtually no time for me to react. I managed to come close enough to a complete stop that there was no damage to either car when my front bumper touched his car. Imagine my surprise and annoyance when he got out of his car and started yelling at me for not watching traffic and it was all my fault that this had happened! He denied even having changed lanes until the driver of the large commercial truck that had been behind us stopped and yelled at him for cutting me off and slamming on his brakes (this had almost caused the truck driver to slam into both of us!). Then the cab driver's story changed to "Oh, well, there's no damage, so I'm not going to complain." There was no use in involving this insurance companies at that point, since there was no damage to either vehicle or driver. However, if this is the quality of drivers employed by this company, I will certainly never give them a recommendation!! read more
