On that note, basically it is a very nice simple location with adequate facilities and reasonable prices. It's definitely not as fancy as you might get somewhere else, but it's not trying to be. So if you're just looking for a place to go practice your swing, this is great. Relaxed atmosphere and a little bit of quiet without driving to a country club is great. They also have a simple mini golf section. It's really definitely not their main feature. And in the offseason times like Fall, you probably won't be seeing it cleaned much, so expect leaves on the course. That said, it's kind of like a seasonal Hazard that changes up if you think of it that way. You can tell people mostly come for the practice range. But on a plus side the lack of crowding means you would have a lot of fun with kids. And unlike other mini golf areas nearby, you don't have to contend with being quite as noisy. There isn't a lot of traffic on the nearby Road and you actually are set off well enough with trees to make it feel a little more easy-going.

But after having experiences with 2 other skydiving companies, I can only give this one 2 stars. The reason it's not one star is because the instructor himself did a great job, and of course my son loved the jump. The issue is entirely with how badly this company overbooks. Our son's booked time was 3:00 PM (he did arrive by 3:03pm due to traffic), and he didn't even leave on the van to jump until after 6:00 PM. I'm sure the company will counter that somewhere on their website they say to allow several hours for the experience and that they can't control wait times. But after seeing how efficiently other skydiving companies operate, this was clearly not just an unavoidable delay, it was obvious overbooking. Even people getting on the van between 5-5:30 PM told us their scheduled time had also been 3:00 PM. We had elderly family members who drove a long distance to watch him jump, and they ended up sitting outside in the heat for nearly 4 hours. That's not a minor delay; that's scheduling far more people than can realistically be handled. At the other companies we've used, the process was organized and efficient. You arrive at your scheduled time, complete a brief 10-15 minute safety orientation, get geared up, and within about 45 minutes you're heading up for your dive. It absolutely can be done smoothly when companies don't overbook. The jump itself was great. The management and scheduling were not.

It's about $250 to jump a tandem jump from 13,000 feet but if you book a second jump the same day it is $129 which is basically half off. This was honestly one of the highlights of my life and I wouldn't have changed it for the world. Every single person there was so genuine and kind that I couldn't have felt more safe. They tell you exactly what to do and when to do it. Everyone should skydive.

Camping hours locks you in after closing with private access should you need to exit. Ranger is a friendly bloke that was so helpful. Peaceful, full hookups and onsite black tank disposal. Note, it's a public park - so you're not going to have control over whom your neighbours are, but we got lucky and the possible problem guests were leaving as we arrived (yay!).

We spent a solid 2-3 hrs there and had a great time. It's also very inexpensive!! Some things that I will say is that the bathrooms are not very clean and don't even work but it's an old place, so that's to be expected and we're not there to use the restroom, we're there to play! Bring cash for extra things, like carousel, barnyard, animal exhibits, etc...sometimes their card reader doesn't work and they can only accept cash. There's even a cute place to shop where you purchase tickets for everything with toys and snacks inside! All in all, we had a great time! Keep in mind this place is old, but it definitely still has charm, and stands out against the other parks around. The animal exhibits, including the barnyard petting activity is a hit or miss, because this place is not a zoo. The animals have plenty of room to hide and/or roam to get space, which is a great thing!!! But some people might be upset after paying and not really being able to see the animals. After driving 9 hours on our way to the NC shore, we decided to stop for the night. We checked in…read moreto our hotel and decided we must stretch our legs and do some walking. A quick search indicated that this greenway was nearby. What a great find! The paved path is approximately 1/2 -3/4 mile around a beautiful lake and includes several beautiful wooden bridges for taking photos, fishing and viewing the lake. The entire area is well-maintained and is wheelchair friendly. There is a large pier at one end of the lake for fishing and many fishing spots around the perimeter of the lake. The paved path is not directly by the lake, rather up the bank from the water's edge. There are several benches placed along the path for resting or taking in the scenery. We saw geese, ducks, turtles, and rabbits. Had we stayed longer, I feel certain we might have seen other wildlife. There was not a dedicated parking lot, but cars were parked along the road in the bike lanes. If I lived in the area I know that I would be a frequent visitor!

You're treated to views of interesting rock formations, one in particular that may be considered "NSFW" lol! At the top there are views of a rock quarry below, picnic tables for the kids, and an overlook point where you can catch views of downtown Winston and Pilot Mountain as well, if you get the right sky for it. Well worth a trip out of the way, especially if you're planning a day in the area!
